An astute reader emailed me about this flip last week (Thank you!). Here we have a Plan 2 in The Villas of Shady Canyon tract built by Taylor Woodrow. This is one of the few (3?) semi custom tracts in Shady Canyon. The rest of the homes are all custom. It’s a beautiful home and was originally owned by baseball power hitter Mark McGwire.

News: Milford Academy and star RB recruit LeSean 'Shady' McCoy gave the Pittsburgh Panthers a verbal commitment over the weekend after visiting The Pete during College Gameday on ESPN. McCoy nicknamed for his antics on and off the field, pleased the student section when he pulled a black marker out of his pocket and checked a box on a sign encouraging the prep star to sign with the Panthers. McCoy was heavily recruited by all the blue chip programs prior to a senior season injury (and problems with the NCAA clearinghouse).Fantasy College Impact: Pitt has been looking for a bruising back like McCoy since the Dave Wannstedt-era began. The smallish LaRod Stephens-Howling never quite fit that role but was serviceable for fantasy owners during the 2006 season. Anyway, here's a shot of the shady Phillipsburg Inn (which I hear was a front-runner for the set of The Shining). The camera phone has terrible quality but I promise you that the lighting/colors were just as eerie in reality. At least the bed had cardboard sheets.

So let's get back up to speed with what has gone down since we last talked: I'd like to start with a major "congratulations" to the Pitt Panthers for a great weekend. The Oakland Zoo was in full force early Saturday morning for a live broadcast of ESPN GameDay with Jay Bilas, Hubert Davis, and Digger Phelps. According to the Trib, 1500 Pitt students turned out for the 10 AM event, with the actual Pitt-Georgetown game not starting until 9 PM that evening. The game played out just as Pitt would have hoped: a 74-69 win over the Hoyas and an apparent major football recruiting coup in the process.
