Soooo you know how women all seem overly paranoid and obsessed about the local sex offenders in their area?Yeah, I don't get it either.I mean, what exactly is the problem??Hey, I know when I bought my house, my first priority was finding out whether or not there were going to be enough sex offenders within close proximity to me. Hey, don't give me that look, I'm serious! I mean, it technically is
This is a case about a man who was arrested on charges that he watched several young victims have sex and perform various sex acts with each other. At some point, he participated. One victim who was 15 at the time of the assaults testified. She told the jury that she was too afraid to report him because she knew he owned a gun and felt intimidated. James Kevin Pope was convicted on 43 counts of ch

It's afternoon in nearby Englewood, and on one block, kids fill the streets, laughing and riding their bikes. In a halfway house nearby, four registered sex offenders are inside, watching TV or sleeping.
This is a common scenario in this low-income community, in which more than 300 sex offenders live.

"... According to Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, one possible factor that took so much police time is that "an astonishing 1,387 registered sex offenders live within a 20-mile radius of the nine-year-old's family home in Dewsbury Moor, West Yorkshire. And with so many suspects within half an hour's drive, police had a huge list to work through."

From The Article:"The report by Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan found 1,558 registered sex offenders had created profiles on MySpace, with Madison County having the fourth highest number in the state, at 66. Twenty-nine of the sex offenders who had profiles lived in St. Clair County. The numbers were provided after Madigan and 48 other attorneys general subpoenaed Santa Monica, Calif.-based MySpace for the names of registered sex offenders who had created profiles."
1. So the Telegraph features a story called NHS Blunders revealed by release of records. In total, seven of the 10 strategic health authorities reported 103 drug incidents, 21 medical equipment failures and 20 surgical. Of course, those figures are what they tell you about. So far North Staffordshire NHS Trust has failed to account for its errors, the high death rate at one of its wards and everything malfunctioning. All disciplinary issues were held in secret in 2001 so no one really knows what happened. The Health Commission wasn't bothered about the death rate. The Ombudsman wasn't worried about it either. The errors listed below were overlooked by the Health and Safety and Police. a. Reference TF/CLS/00518th May 1999 Teresa Fenech - "I informed you that I had undertaken an audit of every single patient on the ward the previous week. I identified a serious lack of baseline and routine observations. In the case of some patients there was also clearly a breach of policy and there wa
MySpace is reporting that they have culled the profiles of some 29,000 sex offenders off their web site. This has to be tweaking everyone from parents, to law enforcement, to the states attorney generals who have been wondering what is happening at MySpace. The problem is that they found 29,000 sex offenders; the good part is that they have detected and deleted the profiles.
The bad part is that where people are, the sites are going to draw from all forms of life, all social classes, and all offender types. It is not surprising that MySpace has attracted sex offenders; it is a good thing that they have been detecting and deleting the profiles. Even if they have made mistakes along the way as they did with Jessica Davis.
The bad part is that MySpace is not the only one, Orkut was in a huge row with the Brazilian government a few years back over a similar issue with people using the system to hunt people and share images and material that is just about illegal everywhere in the world.
A recent report has said that people search community MySpace, has more than 17,000 members that are registered sex offenders. This comes as bad news to anyone that is searching for online love or companionship. Parents should also be aware of these numbers if their child uses MySpace. It is no secret that meeting people online can be dangerous, just ask the numerous people who have met someone that is not who they seemed on the internet. Another disturbing fact is that Connecticut has 264 registered sex offenders that have MySpace accounts. I think MySpace should ban anyone with this kind of background to help make the site safer. What do you think? Be careful when making contact with people that you don't know on the internet.
This week, 6 states' Attorneys Generals released a letter to MySpace demanding the site take responsibility for sexual offenders who use the site. The AGs assert that MySpace has been working with a company called Sentinel Tech Holdings to identify known sex offenders on the social networking site, and that thousands of offenders are confirmed members. The 6 states want that list of the names.
The North Carolina Attorney General, Roy Cooper, called MySpace a "treasure trove of potential victims". Not only do these states want names, but they're also asking that MySpace to prove it's taken or is taking measures to protect their members from confirmed sex offenders. Cooper continues, "Sex offenders have no business being on this site, and we believe MySpace has a responsibility to get them off the site"
North Carolina and a handful of other states are also pushing for MySpace to require parental permission before kids are allowed to create profiles.
Is this really a
The idea that you can reform pedophiles is one of the biggest crocks of the 21st century. The rate of recidivism is almost 100%. But there is an industry built around treatment for these sick bastards and of course the industry suggests more and more treatments. This in spite of the fact that studies show that pedophiles who undergo treatment are MORE likely to molest children again. "Similar to aspects of Alcoholics Anonymous, relapse prevention has sex offenders own up to wrongdoing and resign themselves to a lifelong day-to-day struggle with temptation. But one of the few authoritative studies of the method, conducted in California from 1985 to 2001, found that those who entered relapse prevention treatment were slightly more likely to offend again than those who got no therapy at all."The problem though is that bleeding hearts have made "treatment" such a mantra for so many years that people are afraid to speak out against this stupidity in spite of studies show
