Graham tagged me for this meme (which I have solemnly vowed to ‘repay with kindness’ one day) to reveal seven random and/or weird facts about me. His excuse was that I’d do it to him anyhow if I were looking to tag others with a meme like this.
I’d have to admit that there’s no doubt [...]
This time, the tag requires me to write down seven random facts about myself, which are as follows:1. I love animals. If I knew how, I would like to make friends with almost every single animal in the world (Disclaimer: This does not apply to humans!). This is despite the odd mishap that can and does happen every now and then, like the disagreement I had with my maternal grandfather's dog and which led to his holding one of my ankles between his teeth and, ultimately, letting me off with a little scratch rather than a bite or when a very sick little puppy bit me on my left hand, when I tried to disengage him from my shoe-laces, subsequent to which I had to be administered the anti-rabies shots since the poor little one had died soon after having bitten me (I suppose this should be publicised in the animal world's news media, so that they all know how lethal biting me can prove to be. I still feel bad for the puppy though, even as I shall always remember him by the crescent-shaped sca

Good grief you know I never follow the rules to these so how about a joke? Okay here goes...The Growler!A Scotsman is sitting on a train across from a busty blonde wearing a tiny mini skirt. Despite his efforts, he is unable to stop staring at the top of her thighs. To his delight, he realises she has gone without underwear. The blonde realises he is staring and inquires, "Are you looking at my growler?" "Yes, I'm sorry
About a million years ago, Laura from Lunatic Fringe tagged me for the “Seven Random Facts About Me” meme. I’ve done a bunch of these over the years, and it’s getting tough to come up with more fresh stuff that you don’t already know about me, which is part of the reason I’ve sat on this for so long.
Then, inspiration struck. You might not need to know seven more random things about me — but what about seven random things about Simon, the cutest preschooler on the planet?
1. He’s adorable. No, really, he is. He’s one of those sweet-natured, flirty, adorable three-going-on-four-year-olds who just seem to have a natural ability to charm people. And he uses it shamelessly to his advantage.
2. He’s going through a kissing phase right now. I’m laughing to myself just thinking of his puckered puss as he offers it to me to be kissed many, many times a day.
3. He’s adventurous in his food choices. He’ll

I love the smell of a new book.
I collect plastic toy insects.
I want to pierce my tongue.
Now go blog seven random things about yourself!Advertisement: Use [...]
I was tagged by
Erica at Crummy Cupcake with this meme. Having never participated in a meme this is new ground for me. Consider this an opportunity to learn a little more about one of the ‘D is for Dad’ contributors.

I know, the suspense is killing you. Here goes:
When I was a kid in the fourth grade I made my first foray into entrepreneurship by buying $10 worth of candy at the local 7-11 and reselling it for a profit during recess. My enterprise thrived for a few weeks until “the man” finally got word and shut down the operation.
A couple of years ago my son and I were on a rather large lake in a borrowed row boat when the pull to start the
I am supposed to be writing about Thanksgiving dinner today, but I’m having a hard time getting fired up about dinner for 6 - my parents, Sam, Rob and me, and a friend of the family who just lost his wife to cancer. My brother and his family would have bumped us up into the 12-ish person range, but they’re going to be with my sister in law’s family for Turkey Day.
I know at this point that I will make a turkey (free range and brined), two kinds of stuffing (chestnut-sausage and “plain), mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, cranberry relish and at least two pies. Next Wednesday I’ll publish my countdown for getting everything done in time, but unless we can find more guests wandering the streets in search of a good turkey dinner, I wont be breaking a sweat over this one.
So
I am excited to say that Barbara at Bless Us O Lord has tagged me for a meme. Never mind that I asked her to tag me; it still counts, right? I have been DYING to be t
Becca from Don't Get Me Started... tagged me to do the 7 Random And/Or Weird Facts About Me meme. Today, I will do it, because, seriously, after coming home from walking the picket line for four hours in sub-zero temperatures and high wind fueled by nothing more than two doughnuts and a hot chocolate, my brain is barely up to the task of making tea. It has taken me three trips to the kitchen just to fill the kettle with water and turn on the stove element and clean the teapot. A structured list is exactly what I need to simplify the writing process, and so, without further ado, I bring you seven random and/or weird facts about me.The rules of the game are:Link to the person that tagged you, and post the rules on your blog.Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself.Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs.Let each person know that they've been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.7 Random And/Or Weird Facts About Schmutzie:Back when I
I'm getting my news from weird places these days. Not t.v.. Not the paper. Not even helpful links from friends. I'm getting filled in on the latest important issues from pop culture sources. Like I didn't even know about the crazy astronaut woman. And I doing some really fun reading. My new moth to flame entry: A Daily Dose of Zen Sarcasm. And Super-Mommy has me looking at my blog rolls. Do you ever want to list someone but only if you can do so with qualifiers? I figure the aggregate says more about my interests than any taken individually. Anyway, it's becoming all new and improved.Mom recently made this Salpicon, but without the tomatoes. It was not, as K points out, to be confused with Al Capone. Thank you for that clarification, K. (Do you love our in-home dead pan humor? Forget the professionals. Everyone here is a comedian. It's relentless.) It was lovely with flour tortillas, avocado, and pico de gallo for those who can have tomatoes, sniff, sniff.Since I finished the Randy
