Selma Blair (born Selma Blair Beitner on June 23, 1972) is an American actress. After numerous supporting roles in the 1990s, she starred in the film Cruel Intentions and the short-lived TV series Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane in 1999. She has since had notable roles in Hollywood feature films such as Legally Blonde (2001), The Sweetest Thing (2002), and Hellboy (2004). Blair was married to musician Ahmet Zappa on January 24, 2004, in Los Angeles. She filed for divorce at the Los Angeles Superior Court on June 21, 2006, citing irreconcilable differences. In a statement to People, a spokesperson for the couple said, "Selma and Ahmet have decided to divorce, but love each other very much and will continue to be close friends". She had a long term relationship with actor Jason Schwartzman before her marriage to Zappa.
