Despite already having two solid safeties, the Oakland Raiders are ready to take a chance on former Jags safety Donovin Darius.  The Raiders on Tuesday signed Darius, a big-time hitter in the secondary who has missed parts of the last two years with injuries.  He spent the first nine years of his career with the Jags before being cut, by the surprise of many, this past June.  “We are extremely excited about adding Donovin to the Raiders,” said Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin. “He will bring us immediate competition in our secondary. Donovin exemplifies hard work and dedication to the game. Working with Donovin at Jacksonville, I was able to see what a phenomenal competitor he is. In the latest “China 30″ White Paper, the firm maps out the country’s current and future major business locations and identifies the drivers that will create a new city hierarchy over the next five years. The research highlights 30 second- and third-tier cities that are expected to be on the radar of real estate occupiers, investors and developers. In an attempt to bring depth to an injury-riddled secondary, the Cleveland Browns announced yesterday that they have signed veteran safety Mike Adams to a two-year contract. While Adams does bring depth and some experience to the Browns, high-end talent has yet to show itself in his 3 years in the league. He originally came into the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the 49ers and accumulated 18 starts and 65 tackles. Adams will likely play a backup role behind incumbents Sean Jones and Brodney Pool and will possibly be used in the nickel package.

Despite today's drizzle we still chanced a family wander into town. Once again we went green and left the car at home. Good.
