Well assuming you have access to edit and add content to your website (either via FTP or through a Content Management System) you should go in an make sure that the information on your website is up to date. Google Owns a Search Engine Optimisation Company
If you own or work with a search engine optimization company, or even if you're just hoping to better your search engine placement, then you are probably aware of the recent acquisition frenzy that took hold among the major search engines. Google paid $3.1 billion for DoubleClick, Microsoft paid $6 billion for Aquantive, and Yahoo paid $680 million for the 80 percent of Right Media that it did not already own and another $300 million for BlueLithium. The companies purchased are all intended to help widen the advertising range of each of the engines in question, and to take advantage of increasingly sophisticated behavioral-based ad-serving technologies that the acquired companies owned. What many people failed to realize was that when Google purchased DoubleClick, it now was also the owner of a very large search engine optimization company called Performics, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of DoubleClick. This fact is of course raising some eyebrows in the industry. Search Engine Optimisation - the Pitfalls!
      1. A bad title is a bad web pageThe title tag is one of the most important website elements to keep in mind. Because of the "title tag" we have a general idea about the subject and content of a website. It also works well for human visitors and search engines. The human visitor will know he/she is on the right web page, but also a well chosen title is a sign of credibility and professionalism. For your "not so human" visitors - the search engine robots - title tags play an important part in ranking your website if used properly with the valid keywords corresponding to the content of the web page. Don't forget - every web page is unique, it is therefore recommended to be very precise with the title of website if you have web pages which are similar to one another. Should you have web pages with a very similar title - consider merging the content.2. Bad or duplicate contentA website is unique ans so should your web page as well. 10 Search Engine Optimisation Tips For WordPress Blogs

The default WordPress installation generates unintelligible URLs, generic Page Titles and neither Description nor Keyword meta-tags. Thus, the chances of achieving the desired goals is severely compromised! That search engines hate duplicate content is a given - and 3 of the key indicators are page URL, Title and Description! Fortunately, SEO for WordPress is facilitated b

As you may know, I’ve been experimenting with the hosting location of several of my websites over the last few months and indeed years. To begin with I hosted mascamps.com in America basically because that’s where my earlier websites lived and it was handy to just add the new one to the existing account. Anyway, about a year after we got here the various Our Inns had started off on 1and1.co.uk basically because it was handier to have multiple domains in one account but only pay for one webspace account. Anyway, come 2006 and I needed to upgrade the account to run the database version of the Inns sites. That meant, on 1and1, a move from £25/year to £10/month so I started shopping round and ended up plumping for godaddy in the USA. Snag was that almost immediately after the move, the site traffic started dropping. In fact it ended up dropping 90% before I figured that perhaps £10/month wasn’t too bad after all and, guess what?, well the traffic went up x10 in the two
