‘Vinatu nrityashastrena citrasutram sudurvidam’
In Visnudharmottara Purana, it is stated that it is very difficult to attain the knowledge of chitrasutram without nrityashastra. This statement underlines the interrelationship between the dynamic and the static arts. In both sculpture and dance, the human body is the vehicle of [...]

Stainless Steel, mild steel, wrought iron, aluminium, copper, tin and brass, these are the metals most predominantly used in the creation of modern day metal wall art. Coloured, anodised, etched, painted, lacquers or enamels, are the most frequent finishes and techniques applied, so we will take a closer look at them here in this guide [...]
Although most pop-up books are pretty -- and there are stacks of favorites we'd like to round up in the future -- we just wanted to post a little ditty on a recent fave: 'How Many? Spectacular Paper Sculptures' by Ron Van Der Meer.
There are already several sites that feature this extra-ordinary artist but I just had to share this with you. The first time a saw his works, it just blew me away. His work breaks the fine line between reality and illusion. I wish I could actually come and see his gallery, I think it would be like entering another world! Here are some of his selected works:In Bed (2005) a giant sculpture of a woman lying in bed.Boy (2000), fibreglass, resin, silicone - a 5 metre tall sculpture of a boy, crouching. First shown in the UK Millennium Dome exhibition.A Girl (2006), a vast sculpture of a newborn baby.Wild Man (2005), a nine-foot sculpture of a naked, bearded man. Spooning Couple (2005), a miniature sculpture of a couple lying together on a bed.Ron Mueck’s self-portrait, Mask II (2001-2002);
Italian artist Maurizio Savini uses chewing gum as the material for his art and these sculptures are creatively well done. That’s a lot of chewing gums for the size of his sculptures and I wonder if he actually bought those from the supermarkets.

Location: New York, New YorkDate: September 21, 2003Almost four years after taking these photos, I finally found out who made the statues. They are created by 陳龍斌 Long-Bin Chen, a Taiwanese artist who studied at School of Visual Arts. Chen made many statues using books. Some are several meters tall. But these are only about a foot tall, and they are made out of phonebooks. Now that you know who the artist is, do you know who the statues are modeled after?BodhidharmaBuddhaThe Back of BuddhaA Buddha in Progress
The following is a great article for art collectors when considering the purchase of stone art sculptures. So if you have just fallen in love with that statue from Zimbabwe, read this first.
Buying Stone Art
If you’ve been considering getting an art purchase, you probably know there are numerous different types of artwork. I would venture to say; however, that few types of artwork are more permanent than art in stone. This is because stone is extremely durable and impressive. When you purchase it for someone you care about they will immediately know that your love is undying. Revealing your love for someone through art in stone symbolizes your feelings for them: simple and unbreakable.
I should say that my interest in art carved in stone primarily stems from the fact that I have create it myself. For the last twenty years I have been a stone carver and over the course of this time my knowledge of this type of artwork has increased and evolved. When I first began to work with art
A fountain sculpture by artist Klaus Weber entitled 'The Big Giving' is displayed on the the South Bank in central London October 19, 2007. Half a dozen sculptures made of stone and industrial waste feature water spurting in depictions of vomiting, sweating, crying, urinating and spitting, and is due to continue on display until the end of the month.
Creative Sculptures from Fruits and Vegetables
This is a very good idea from Italian to sell the fruits and vegetables in these ways. All of us know fruits and vegetables are very good for health but most people still prefer meats than fruits and vegetables.
In order to attract more people to consume fruits and vegetables, they were decorated as animals, balls, tricycle, hot-air balloon,
Kensington Palace, an intimate royal palace, was Princess Diana’s residence in London and place of birth of Queen Victoria. Kensington Palace has been a residence of the British Royal Family since the 17th century. The first sovereign residents here were William and Mary in 1689. Queen Victoria was born here in 1837 and opened parts of the palace to the public, including some of the State Apartments. These are still open today, along with a beautiful Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection, containing period court dress, including some belonging to The Queen, is included in admission.
Today Kensington Palace is the official residence of The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester; the Duke and Duchess of Kent; and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. In 1981 apartments 8 and 9 were combined to create the London residence of the newly married Prince and Princess of Wales, Charles and Diana, and it remained the official residence of Diana, Princess of Wales after her marriage and until t
Mysterious stone sculptures have been found outside a number of properties in Yorkshire, leaving residents puzzled as no one knows why or where they have come from. Each sculpture features the same carved symbol and come with a riddle attached.
So far, 12 of the stone heads have appeared in Goathland and Kilburn, North Yorkshire, four in Arthington, near Leeds, West Yorkshire and three in Braithwell, near Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
Each head looks different, but all of the sculptures feature the same carving - which appears to spell out the word “paradox” - and a note with this riddle written on it, “Twinkle twinkle like a star does love blaze less from afar?”
Owners of a post office in Braithwell found three of the heads outside their business on the morning of August 23rd. After checking their CCTV footage, they discovered a man they did not know dropping off the stones in a small car at around 4am.

This is not the Weirdest Industrial Sculptures Place in Prague now. There's a street exhibition at Andel (also a bus, metro and tram station). There are sculptures made of old computers and various home appliances. They are over 3 metres high and from what I remember they are in the shapes of prehistoric animals. I should go there again and take a picture of them so you can compare which place is weirder. Hope they will not be gone on weekend.PS: I took this shot over a curved tram window, thus the blur in some places.

An artist is a person worthy to be revered and respected. And art knows no boundaries, no regions; just a significant amount of imagination, determination and diligence, and of course, some talent!! So let's take a moment to look at these beautiful and intricate works of edible art. You don't have to try to match these works of excellence, but if it inspires you even a little to be creative about your presentation techniques, my job here is done! These are works from famous artists, definitely not by me. I'm just an admirer of art, saluting these geniuses, just like you...An "Easter Bunny" carved from a Melon.....A beautiful "Swan" carved out of Cheese.....An "Alligator" carved from a Pineapple.....A "Pegasus" sculptured out of Butter.....A "Cute and kind Orange Couple" adopting a "Tomato".....And finally, the perfect centre-piece for a couple "Just Married".....Please visit the actual blogsite at http://funnfud.blogspot.com
Fountain with sculptures at Senovazne square. It's very close to Masarykovo train station and also to Hybernska street. I spent quite some time here ... eating while waiting for my English class at Cambridge Institute Praha (which is in the mentioned Hybernska street). They are great at learning English, the atmosphere among students and teachers is great and it was one of the places I really enjoyed going to. But they are not exactly cheap.Canonet QL17 + Ilford Pan 100

If you have read even one article on this site, you know that I am always on the lookout for new, unique, and innovative products and designs. Hence the attraction to Alex Story Jewelry.
Alex’s background is in sculpture, metal smithing, and welding. She trained in these crafts in Paris and London, but found her creations difficult to transport. Upon returning to her native New York, Alex turned towards jewelry, creating wearable sculptures that were far easier to pack in a suitcase.
This ring is Alex’s Deco Ring - no wonder I am drawn to it. I adore art deco architecture, and this ring certainly echos that style, still visible in many Los Angeles buildings. I love that the ring doesn’t connect all the way. While planning my wedding, I heard over and over that the significance of the wedding ring was to represent the unbreakable flow of love, the circle of life, yadda yadda yadda. I am certainly not sentimental, so I love that this is quietly breaking the rule
The market for art made from recycled items is growing all the time, for this reason there are many artists taking up the art and the results are staggering to see.
The particular artist Tim Pace has created a collection of animal sculpture made from farm implements, tools, car parts, cutlery, industrial scrap, swing sets, trampoline frames and springs to mention but a few of the items that are used.
The animals produced include bugs, insects, dogs, and birds of all shapes and sizes; they are colored brightly and just look fantastic.

H & K Steel Sculptures
Created by artist Guenter Scholz, each sculpture has been individually handcrafted by cutting, bending and welding recycled steel to effectively portray the subject. Guenter Scholz first demonstrated his aptitude for his craft as a mechanical engineering student. Building upon a 1930’s art form, he’s combined his technical background with a love of art to create unique and original sculptures. Made of recycled steel with copper trim, Scholz’s art is easily identified by the signature “washer” eyeglasses his subjects wear. Scholz’s unique sculptures allow you to personalize your home and office decor. His whimsical renderings of Sports, Professions, Musicians, Lifestyles and modes of Travel capture the unique essence of his subjects and add warmth and individuality to their surroundings. In addition to the sculptures are Wine Bottle Holders and recently released Stompers.

The Theo Parrish album lands. It’s essentially the next 3×12″ releases from Sound Signature label bundled together in a very nice gatefold sleeve and, in a similar way to “Natural Aspirations”, features his more jazz orientated material. That’s not to say it’s not Housey because it really is.
On this album you’ll find tracks like ‘Second [...]
First it was mannequin, and now sculptures. Kate Moss has been the subject of a bronze sculpture series, "Sphinx," by artist Marc Quinn.
The supermodel was used in a bronze display at the "Mary Boone Gallery" in New York City. Quinn unveiled seven new bronze sculptures of the supermodel in various yoga poses, which are claimed to show the beauty as "a knotted Venus of our age."

Cuando vemos por primera vez la belleza de las criaturas de Theo Jansen desplazándose por la arena, descubrimos de inmediato que el trabajo de este ingeniero, científico y artista tiene algo muy especial.
We live in a world of change and anyone who thinks and acts quickly has a chance to succeed. Art is also moving forward and new currents appear every day. One which fascinates me deals with mechanical sculptures, and today I’ve found a new artist, Christopher Conte, from Norway, who has some interesting concepts in his portfolio.

These are photographs of sculpture: fleeting wisps of ephemeral smoke curlicues (hmm…redundant, perhaps, but poetic, no?). I have always thought that the smoke off an extinguished candle or match was gorgeous. Stephan Brauchli captures these images, then mirrors them, giving us not only a piece of art, but a distinct rorschach opportunity (do you see a singing angel in the picture above?). Check them all out HERE.
