Do you ever have moments when your parents do funny things, and suddenly you have flashbacks to when you were little and remember things…but you see them from the perspective of an adult, rather than a child?
I do that from time to time, and today, I had an epiphany that my Dad is a husband. [...]
John Prescott apparently urged Tony Blair to sack Gordon Brown but he claims the prime minister was "scared" of his chancellor. This is what Prescott says in his memoirs. Amazing these New Labour people. All making money, or trying to, faster than a one-armed bandit. The former deputy prime minister said Mr Blair reneged on several promises to resign in favour of Mr Brown. So it was true. No wonder
Nath Villa. Night. A couple enters the villa with an intention of spending the night. But unfortunate for them, it’s the house where Kailash Nath (Amitabh Bachchan), oops, the spirit of Kailash Nath enjoys his days and nights in his airy appearance.
This might be the most terrified I’ve ever seen anyone in a scare prank. The lady who takes a digger in the tub was good, but this woman has all of the classic traits of a good scare: good preparation for the scream, continued scream, and trying to get away terribly.
Actor-director Ajay Devgan says his career is like an investment as he would like his daughter to be proud of his work when she grows up.
From his first film, "Phool Aur Kaante", to his recent releases, including "Company", "GangaaJal" and "Omkara", the actor has always impressed audiences with his versatility. However, he isn't comfortable talking about his achievements.
I’m not sure what to make of this video. Although I think the best part is waiting for the dog in the background for its chance to sniff out whats going on. But has anyone bought this for their kids? And if so, do they like it or does it scare them to tears? I’m [...]
If Congressman Nick Lampson (D-Stafford) is able to hold off GOP also-ran Pete Olson this fall (and it looks more and more like he will), he’ll be next in line to take over the House subcommittee overseeing NASA operations:
The House Democratic leadership is trying to help Rep. Nick Lampson survive a tough re-election fight by advertising that he would be in line to take over the subcommittee overseeing NASA next year — if he wins in November.
The rare pre-election commitment by allies to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., underscores efforts on Capitol Hill to strengthen the Stafford Democrat’s bid for a second two-year term in a Republican-leaning district long represented by Tom DeLay, the former House Majority leader.
Of course, also-ran Olson doesn’t think much of tha

The pregnant, 17 yr -old, has been scared sick of the idea of giving birth, naturally anyway. Jamie Lynn Spears, who is around 6 months pregnant, was shown a video natural childbirth by her mother and was so scared she has now opted for a Caesarean section.

Jamie Lynn Spears is terrified of giving birth. Seriously, I don’t even know what to say about that! I do know I was 20 when I had my first child and I was scared too. But I ended up doing it drug free!

I hate going to the dentist. I always have, and I suspect I always will. When I was a kid, my parents used to take me to this really evil dentist. He supposedly specialized in children, but I think he hated kids. I remember this one time when I was about 5, I had to get some fillings done. I'd never done this before and I had no idea what to expect. But I knew it involved needles and drilling things and I wanted no part of that.I had no choice though. So they brought me back into this room with pictures of Snoopy all over the walls. And a clown riding a unicycle down a tightrope that stretched across the ceiling. The clown kept going back and forth, and I guess it was supposed to be something fun to look at. But did I ever mention I'm terrified of clowns? I hated that stupid thing. It didn

“The reason (George H. W. Bush’s tactic) works so well now is that you have all these economically insecure white people who are scared to death,” Clinton was quoted saying by the Los Angeles Times in September 1991.
A couple months later, Joe Klein, writing for the Sunday Times, reported that Clinton made the following [...]
Can anyone explain the term "Tired" to me, please? Just anyone for goodness. No, I'm not playing any goddamn game with ya'll because I don't have the time. Secondly, I'm not in any mood for games. Thirdly, it's stupid okay.Oh my god! I spent the whole evening earlier feeding myself with junkies -- Starbucks. What do you expect right there? There aren't any fabulous and tasteful salads that got me drool ya'll. So anyway, had lots of frapucinno as well as a slice of cheese cake. Oh my god! It was a suprise birthday celebration. I didn't even know and none who were there told me about it. I actually ate something that I strongly forbids. I ate something that go against my dietting plan. I'm finished! I'm doomed! There goes the fat. There goes all the cholesterol and the extra pounds. Thank go
April 8, 2008Nearly a year after their blow-up, Rosie O’Donnell is still sore at Elisabeth Hasselbeck.“I tried my best but it’s hard for me when I’m not the boss,” O’Donnell, 46, said on The Martha Stewart Show Tuesday, reflecting on her experience on The View. “There was people there telling me what to do. There was a little Republican who scared me.” During O’Donnell’s final weeks on the show, the Republican Hasselbeck, now 30, and the liberal O’Donnell famously sparred in May 2007 over the Iraq war. Whoopi Goldberg, 52, later took over O’Donnell’s spot.
So my mom's side of the family has heart problems. I mean like heart attacks, asthma (I know that is not your heart), and other things I am not totally sure of but, I know they are a risk factor. Well I am the most active out of my immediate family (mom, dad and brother) and ever since 8th grade I have been having little sharp pains every now and again. Back then they would come every once in a while but when they did come they would hurt. A couple of times I was doing an ordinary activity and when I caught it I had to stop and I clutched at my chest; it hurt so bad. there was never a warning sign except the pain. Well, recently they have been occurring more. Yesterday was the most pain I have ever had in one day. I think I had at least 5 or 6 ocurrances. The pain was not as severe

In a recent interview with DJ Semtex, Lil Wayne was asked who he would like to work with but has yet to. After Weezy responded with unrealistic collaborations with the likes of Elvis and Sammy Davis Jr, he went on to discuss a more feasible collaboration that has yet to happen. “I’ve never done a song with Eminem,” Wayne says. “I sent him a song and he ain’t do it. I didn’t like that but it’s all good. People be busy and stuff or a.k.a. just scared to get on a song with me.” Wayne also discusses Kanye West’s contributions to The Carter III. It has been widely known that Kanye and Weezy were working together on the album but many are curious as to what extent West is featured. “The first time, Kanye came and brought me 5 joints. The next time he came and gave me a CD wi

Reuters - Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said in a newspaper on Thursday that his relatives in Germany fear for their safety and criticized Chancellor Angela Merkel for backing out of an event with Turks last month.Asked by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) newspaper about a house fire last month that killed nine people of Turkish origin in Ludwigshafen, Erdogan said he had seen Nazi symbols on the door of the house during a subsequent visit to the site.

The seemingly never-ending story of the bid over Yahoo! that Microsoft so generously made has seen another chapter come to a close, and by the looks of it, it’s among the last chapters in the book. After exploring different alternatives that would benefit shareholders more than the MS alternative, which Jerry Yang is completely poised on refusing, given a lifeline, one of the two possible

And the first one is overcoming the fear of diving underwater. While she prepares to do her first ever avant-garde film "Devdas" with Sudhir Mishra, in which she intends to change her entire image and get-up to play a modern-day Paro, in a new sporty film entitled "Blue", Lara has gone several steps further. She has actually managed to overcome her fear of the underwater to do some serious scuba diving with the ever-sporty Akshay Kumar. For years now, Lara has been petrified of taking the plunge. Akshay urged her to not only accept a film that needed her to go against her ingrained fears, but also helped her out of the dive-despair.

During this Presidential campaign season, one of the biggest issues being discussed by candidates is the war in Iraq.
While this is certainly one of the most controversial wars the US has been involved in, it seems that few musicians and artists are tackling this issue in their music.

We just finished a round of antibiotics and lo and behold a fever of 103 last night. This time that lovely pediatrician of mine is saying it has to be a sinus infection because her ears look fine and her chest sounds good. Am I wrong to worry that this little lady is going to run out of effective antibiotics before she's in preschool? The MRSA thing literally keeps me awake at night worrying. We get her the flu shot because the doctor says that with her history and her asthma that it could be very dangerous for her not to get it in spite of my worry about vaccine safety and autism. Then I see in the newspaper that the darn flu shot didn't exactly hit the lottery on the number of strains that it's effective in fighting. It's to the point that I'm obsessing and developing a raging cas

For anyone that's a regular visitor to this blog, my baby has MRSA. The stomach virus is crawling through our household and the minute one gets better, another family member goes down for the count. Since we got the news that MRSA had made its way into our world, I've lived in fear of any illness that may come our way that would require antibiotics. This may seem unreasonable to some, but MRSA means that only a limited number of antibiotics work for this child and I don't want her to become resistant to more meds. The tone in my doctor's voice when he spoke the words that she will have to deal with this for the rest of her life, rings in my head at times. It almost seemed that he was issuing a death sentence even though he backed it up with how huge a percentage of the population is i

It's good to be scared. It means you still have something to lose.I heard this quote, on of all things, the TV show Grey's Anatomy. It was so interesting, I scribbled it in the margin of a magazine on the side table as I watched the episode.A couple days later, I saw the scribbled words as I got together all the old magazines and newspapers on recycling day. I tore off the cover with the quote on it and placed it on my desk.I've been staring at this quote all morning and pondering why I found it so interesting.Through many of my trials and tribulations in the last couple of years, one thing I've carried in my backpocket has been faith.Faith that our luck would change.Faith that better days were ahead.Faith that my family and I can overcome the challenges that come our way.Fear is a component of my life that comes and goes. I don't live my life in constant fear, thank goodness, but when the fear creeps up it's hard to shake. Sometimes the fear is like a vice grip, slowly squeezing
A few weeks ago, my baby picked up a new habit of poking my tummy with either a knee or a foot or a fist or an elbow with such a force that I can see it protrude so sharply out of my tummy . This happens at every minute in a day, nonstop, poke poke poke!
I thought he was just trying to amuse himself; I do that too you see, when I get bored I poke Azman's eyeballs with my index finger and shout "Toing! Toing! Toing!" to his ear too.
Since I believe in karma; I thought my baby was just taking his father's side so I just let him punish me instead of poking back at him. With the heel of my stilettos.
But when the jutting out of the fist MOVES in random motions, I am beginning to think that maybe my baby is trying to tell me something!
Its the DHA supplement you see, I think he is trying to scribble some kinda message to me. Like in The Exorcist. So do not think I am weird when you catch me staring so intently at my own tummy okay?; I am just trying to catch one of his scribbling

Any of you scared of your own smell when passing motion? Well, not that the smell is pleasant, but I believe no one can react as strongly as Ian.
Because of his fear of his own smell of stool, he practically trying to avoid passing motion!
Sometimes he tried to hold it for a whole day, though he couldn’t hold the fart. “Poo-poo-poo” sounds everywhere, foul smell everywhere, still he refuses to go to the loo.
Sometimes when he cannot hold it already, he’d go quickly for a QUICK try, like 10 seconds and quickly give up. This process goes on and on until the poo is released.
Whenever he is at the toilet trying to pass motion, he’d scream and cry loudly: “Mama! Chou chou (smelly)! Chou Chou!” and then he’d give up and sneak out!

By Dr. Steve SjuggerudMy friends and neighbors are getting scared...Stocks are down. Real estate is down. And instead of things getting better, it "feels" like things are accelerating downward. So they're worried. We've been worried before... On March 20, 2003, the U.S. invaded Iraq. In the preceding years, the dot-com bubble had burst in stocks and the Twin Towers were hit. Investors were extremely uncertain about the future.Do you remember what happened in the stock market? Stocks rose nearly 40% from March 2003 to March 2004...We had extreme fear and uncertainty in the markets back in March 2003. Smart investors recognized it, and capitalized on it. And how about last summer? Investors were as bearish on stocks as they had been in decades, and the stock market as a whole rose 14% in less than six months... an enormous gain in such a short time.Today, investors are worried. I checked in with my friend Jason Goepfert, who tracks investor sentiment. Jason says his current indicators ar

Surely there is no place for fear in the Premier League - but I think we all witnessed it last night at the Madejski. It appeared to be etched in the eyes, the actions and the minds of most of the Reading players, and it turned the game into a totally one-sided affair.
Of course us Gooners are more than happy with the three points and delighted that we were able to stroll through the game in first gear, but I wonder if these are the sort of games that should be confined to a cup competition, rather than part of a fiercely competitive league campaign.
Perhaps the time is getting near for that breakaway super league that keeps being talked about? I am not sure I would be in favour of that. I am too much of a traditionalist to want to see the end of the fairy tale adventures of poorly supported and ‘unfashionable’ clubs reaching the highest level, even if its usually only for a season or two. But there is certainly growing evidence that the gap between the top and bo

Danone Sells Stake of Shanghai Bright
While still in the middle of perhaps China’s talked about implosion, Danone has exited from its stake in Shanghai Bright. Much like the Wahaha investment, Danone had a position in Bright’s largest competitor Inner Mongolia based Mengniu. You can read the full details IHT and the Dairy Reporter article. Perhaps Danone has come to understand that while investing in firms that already have captured a large portion of the market, investing in the top 2 is not the best idea. Especially when you are trying to explain why a new product concept is not such a good idea…

Westlife’s Kian Egan has claimed that the Spice Girls are running scared over a chart battle with his band.
This has all come about because both of their new albums were originally due to be released on November 5, but the Spice Girls have now pushed back their Greatest Hits collection one week.
Kian has said that he is particularly disappointed by the decision because he would take great enjoyment in getting one over on Mel C. he said that “We would take great pleasure in beating the Spice Girls - especially Mel C because every time she opens her mouth something mean comes out. Our album (Back Home) is good, we’ve worked hard on it and it would have been good to go head-to-head with their one. As far as we were concerned, we were going up against them and we were up for it. But then they suddenly changed their minds. They’re running scared.”
Last time both of these groups released albums simultaneously, the Spice Girls’ Forever only sold 71,000 cop

Well well well…It seems like the much touted Beyonce debut concert here in Malaysia would not happen after all. At least that’s what MalaysiaKini has reported yesterday. Insiders said that the cancellation was due to Beyonce’s fears that her debut concert would be protested by some Muslim groups here in Malaysia. That’s interesting. Which Muslim groups were they referring to?Osama Bin Laden’s Al-Qaeda?PAS?UMNO Hadhari?Hmm… As a Muslim, I’m not all disappointed with Beyonce’s decision to cancel her debut concert. At the same time, I’m impressed with Beyonce’s show of respect for Muslims here in Malaysia. At least she got the decency to know that her debut concert might offend Malaysian Muslims and she made the decision to back out.Thank you for your kind consideration, Beyonce!By the way, I would like to remind our Muslim groups that they should not focus too much on foreign artists and superstars. I’m scared of Saawariya and I have no problems admitting that,” Shah Rukh Khan said at the music launch of his film, Om Shanti Om. Saawariya, for those who don’t know, is releasing on the same day as his film: November 9.
This will, in fact, be a repeat of what we saw last Diwali, when SRK’s Don collided with Salman Khan’s Jaan-e-Mann.
“If I had a chance, I would have postponed my film,” Shah Rukh said.
The actor seemed diplomatic, after his Om Shanti Om director Farah Khan said some unpleasant things about Bhansali’s mother.
On this occasion, Farah preferred to keep quiet, and restricted her comments to her film.
Shah Rukh added that he respected Sanjay Leela as a filmmaker, as they both went back to 2002’s Devdas.
On a concluding note, the King Khan said he hoped to flood the market with prints of Om Shanti Om. “Our hope is to release the film with 2,000 prints worldwide. But that is only a hope,” he said.

So, I'm not embarrassed to admit that I am scared to drive here. I've been here long enough now to be used to the "left-side-of-the-road" thing, but I still wouldn't want to be behind the wheel. Lanes do exist. However, most people choose not to follow the seemingly simple traffic law that you stay in your own lane. Cars are consistently driving down the middle of the road--half in one lane, half in another. Weaving back and forth is a common practice, and signals are seldom used.Motorcycles and mopeds are also cause for concern. They are everywhere!...scooting along the edge of the road when traffic has come to a stand still; weaving between cars to make their way to the front of the pack. Its not uncommon for three people to be on a moped together, with the back two passengers sitting sideways. And, when it rains, the umbrellas come out--moped drivers have one hand holding an umbrella and another holding the handle bar!No...for now, I think I'll continue to use my two legs and th

I just closed a home for a spectacular deal. The home was as we say in the industry, “real estate owned.” A better name might be bank owned, because the property was owned by a large bank which had acquired the property in a foreclosure.
What really made me think about this transaction was a call from a local appraiser who was looking for comparable properties in the neighborhood and said, “Why did this sell for so cheep!” This call coupled with my knowledge of the current liquidity crisis made me think. Are banks so worried that they are giving properties away for bargain basement prices or was the property just marketed poorly at a bad time in the market?
The property in question is located on Skyline Boulevard in the Oakland hills. It was sold just a year ago for $1,900,000. The lore behind the property is that both of the owners who bought the home in March of 2006 passed away shortly after acquiring the home and the prope

On the second-last page of the book, Madeline’s bed is still ominously empty – and the other little girls all have tummy-aches that no one seems to be taking seriously. It’s a cliff-hanger ending, one that leaves her studying the illustrations long after the lights are out, using the last rays of daylight to peer hopefully into the book, looking for reassurance.
She’s
Our reader Diego has an application on his computer that he needs to get access to while he is away. Diego is trying to get VNC going on his iPhone. This tutorial is for you no matter what router you are on but, it uses the WRT54G as an example. You should be able to use the knowledge to work with most modern routers. To begin there are a few things you need to do. First as a prerequisite you need to know the difference between external and internal ip addresses. Now you see that you can't get to your internal addresses also referred to as your NAT IP from outside without some work. You are in a protected kingdom. (Pardon the corny references but they work well!) The inside of your network is like the inside of your virtual castle. The only way in is by opening a port sort of like building a virtual draw bridge. To open this draw bridge to your computer over the internet you need your computer to have a static IP address. Now we need to see if you are using a static IP or a dyn
Binky-free day six.
Yesterday Woodrow whined all afternoon for the binky. It was all to much for me. I was so frustrated dh came home and left the house with both boys in tow to let me be alone and calm down.
No caffeine=one grumpy mommy.
Woody woke me up this morning with a very strong request. One binky mommy, just one mommy. One binky mommy. If he whines again all day long I might just have to break my diet and have a glass or two of wine tonight. Dh is out all night playing video games. *sigh* It’s going to be a long, long, long day.
Steven Gerrard cannot wait for the Liverpool's title challenge to start this season, claiming teams we be scared of playing The Reds.Gerrard was speaking after Liverpool's 3-2 friendly victory over Werder Bremen, which saw Fernando Torres, Ryan Babel, Yossi Benayoun and Andriy Voronin all make impressive debuts. The scoreline did not reflect the dominance that Rafa Benitez's men enjoyed, with Voronin and Torres looking particularly sharp in attack, and Gerrard believes The Reds finally have the firepower to scare their main rivals."When we sign a striker I look at the defensive pairings of United and Chelsea and ask if we've signed a player who is going to cause them all sorts of problems," the England man was quoted as saying in The Daily Mail."I did it with Torres and ended up with a smile on my face because I don't think anyone will enjoy playing against him."He's a great talent and it's a massive statement to the rest of the division."I've watched what the other teams are do
My kids are all very good sleepers, but there are always exceptions. Last night, my middle child, Dylan was scared of something. What exactly he was scared of I'm not quite sure. Maybe the dark, maybe the night light, maybe the huge blow up inflatable ball pit his Mother put in their room last night, who knows...But at 2:30am, my son is panicking and needing some comfort. So I sit on the couch until he calms down, and then lay him in his bed. After getting back to my bed, and getting all settled in, I hear his cries again. So I get up and sit on his bed for a few minutes, until I'm certain he's gone back to sleep. After getting back to my my bed, and getting settled in, I hear his cries again. Let's just say this repeated for 45 minutes, before I just got in bed with him. Which of course has left me with the worst crick in my neck that I've ever had!I can remember when my kids first started having nightmares, it was so scary for me. What could be so horrible? We don't

The debut from this U.K. supergroup is a strange, uncertain, and undoubtedly unique record that resulted from a 10-day clatter through the nooks and crannies of the guitar-wielding Glasgow underground. Project leader Gary Lightbody, the fey-voiced front man of Irish indie-popsters Snow Patrol. manages to keep members of bands as diverse as Arab Strap, Astrid, Mogwai, Mull Historical Society, and Belle and Sebastian playing from the same hymn sheet. And on the whole, it's his own quavering, tremulous vocals that take precedence on these ponderous, sad Sebadoh-like songs (the gorgeous "12 Hours It Takes Sometimes"), lo-fi beat-box breakdowns ("Raindrop"), and technofied Sonic Youth-style droners ("Tout le Monde"). Sure, it would have been nice to hear some of the record's other contributors making more use of their talents--Arab Strap's splendidly miserable Aidan Moffat only steps up to a microphone once, for the rolling acoustica of "Nightfall." But it's clear that this is Lightbody
Warning: Serious/Sad/Negative post to follow.Tomorrow morning we're driving down to Vancouver for the weekend. Monday is Canada Day, so we have a lovely long weekend to enjoy. Or possibly dread.Obviously I'm feeling a wee bit conflicted. The last time I saw my mom she was awake, but on a ventilator and unable to talk because of the tube down her throat. Now, she's breathing on her own, and making rapid progress in her physical recovery. As relief sets in, so does panic. What about her mental recovery? Some of you have met my mom, most have only heard little mentions here and there hinting at how much I love her and aspire to be more like her. Although emotionally tempermental much like her daughter (our Scottish/Irish heritage is to blame, really), she's also one of the most hilarious women I know. If she'd had the inclination, she could've been a stand-up comic. I can't remember a phone conversation with her where she hasn't had me laughing so hard that I was sore for
Australia ...An elder of the Mutitjulu community in central Australia says many Aboriginal mothers are taking their children into the sandhills because of fears the government will take them away. Federal police and members of the defence force are expected to be deployed to the community as early as next week as part of the Federal Government's response to Indigenous child sex abuse. The elder, Vince Forrester, says the changes are unnecessary and are causing widespread fear in central Australia. "When you're bringing armed forces into the communities obviously people's minds are going to start playing tricks on them," he said."You don't bring an army into the community, this is just intimidation of the Aboriginal community in the Northern Territory."
