The ouster of the Indian cricket team from the World Cup in the first round has seen the differences in the team come out in open.
In a startling revelation on Tuesday night, veteran journalist Rajan Bala said that coach Greg Chappell was unhappy with the squad chosen for the World Cup.
Chappell had sent an SMS to Bala in response to an article he wrote on February 16.
In the article Bala had written: “He might or might not develop to be the country’s best future batsman, but let it be known that the possibility of his not being fully fit during the World Cup cannot be discounted. It is a risk that is being taken.
Bala had also written that Yuvraj Singh was behaving as if he was a big star.
“The problem with Yuvraj is that he believes he is a star when he is only a rising one,” Bala wrote.
Bala argued that he made the SMS public because the Indian coach was being made a scapegoat for the World Cup debacle.
