'Disco, the Brady Bunch, the bumbling portrait of Gerald Ford on Saturday Night Live, the exploding Ford Pinto, Jimmy Carter's "killer rabbit" '
From: Why It's Time to Rethink the 70s by Bruce Schulman and Julian Zelizer Another reason for the scholarly bias against the 1970s concerns the peculiar focus of political historians. Scholars still tend to focus on presidents, their top advisers, and the exercise of executive power. As a result, the 1960s--a period that features the Camelot of John F. Kennedy and the tragedy of Lyndon Johnson--or the "Reagan Revolution" of the 1980s attracted more interest than a decade filled with corrupt or lackluster presidencies. Bob Dole, the long-time Senate Republican Leader and 1996 presidential nominee neatly, summarized this view when he described Presidents Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford, and Richard Nixon respectively as "See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and just Evil." Saturday Night Live: Ashton Kutcher/Gnarls Barkley - VIDEOS
Filed under: OpEd, Video, The Daily Show, Episode Reviews, Reality-Free(S33E10) Considering the fact that Ashton Kutcher has hosted the show two times previous to this, I expected a lot more sketches that would let him cut loose and go crazy. Saturday Night Live: Christopher Walken/Panic! At the Disco - VIDEOS
Filed under: OpEd, Saturday Night Live, Video, Episode Reviews, Reality-Free(S33E09) The weird thing about Christopher Walken's legendary Saturday Night Live performances is that they all suck. "Mariah Carey ft. T-Pain - Migrate" (Live On Saturday Night Live)
The World's Favourite Diva - Mariah Carey - Was The Feature Of Last Weeks Edition Of Saturday Night Live. This served as the perfect opportunity to show off her possible second single from her new album, the club jam - Migrate. Once rumoured to be the first choice début single, the track is a collaboration with serial hit maker - T-Pain.Migrate sounds really solid, it's up-tempo beat & catchy lyrics are complimented well with the token rap from T-Pain. My only criticism is the fact that once again, Mariah didn't get the opportunity to show off her unique vocal range, I expect there will be plenty of time for that with her album tracks. The performance itself was great, Mariah looks like a pure bred diva with her figure looking sexier than ever. Plus, I love the hat that T-Pain was rocki

Barack Obama Makes Surprise Appearance on Saturday Night Live
Barack Obama made a surprise appearance last night during the introduction of NBC's "Saturday Night Live". The skit featured the cast of "SNL" as the Democratic presidential candidates dressed in costumes for Halloween. Barack Obama comes up wearing a Barack Obama mask and reveals himself. Obama takes implied shots at Hillary Clinton who is hosting the Halloween party by saying that he will continue to be himself. “Well you know Hillary, I have nothing to hide, I enjoy being myself. I am not going to change myself just because it is Halloween,” Obama said. The skit ended with Barack Obama giving the standard opening to the show, “Live from New York it’s Saturday Night” There is some subtle humor mixed in that might be harder to get unless you have been watching all of the debates or if you have been following the campaign closely. It adds a certain level of humor that has certainly been missing from SNL lately. This clip happens to be pretty good.

Fred Thompson Skit on Saturday Night Live
Not bad for an SNL skit in the past few seasons. “How badly do I want to be our nation’s president? On a scale of 1 to 10? I’m about a 6.” Saturday Night Live is even able to pick up on Fred Thompson’s lack luster energy level and his laziness when it comes to trying to pump up a crowd. Does he realize how long the presidential campaign is? Here is the clip: The now famous “round of applause video”:

I think what I saw was the real Peyton, a guy with incredible sense of humor, intelligence and a bit of a wild side. Here are some awesome clips via Youtube...Good stuff. i have the opportunity to my book illustrated by the man that did the on-air artwork for saturday night live..
he will be drawing an original work for my book, not for the front cover.he is extremely talented, and the samples of his work are out of this world. he worked for snl during the years 1975-2000 (in its prime). he is charging me 1/2 the standard price of commercial work for a black amp; white drawing in pencil.i have about 30 artists in the wings, if i don #039;t hire him. some of them are extrememly talented, although most are amateurs with great potential.if i could afford it, i would gladly spend four times what he is asking.should i use his work? are there investors that will put up some money because of the quality of my book, and the quality of the contributors, such as this artist?...
