This endeavor started towards the end of Dec of last year, after we learned that there would be no local trail races due to the fires. Charlie from the rundown.net organized this underground Group Supported run (unknown 50K) in San Mateo. The weather was perfect for running and as you can see from the pictures the views were just amazing. The course was mainly single track and very technical, I managed to only lose 1 toe nail this time. There were several creek crossing where our feet got wet, but they managed to dry very fast. Because the was not a "official race" we relied on print out maps, the course was unmarked, so there was alot of second guessing if you were on the right trail. Overall I had a fantastic time, I was able to see a part of the wilderness that alot of people can't see.
The Case of John Donovan - Nevada I had been dad's Power of Attorney and executor for well over a decade. I was also successor trustee of his trust. Dad had been very meticulous and thought that he had everything sewn up. He had done what all of the lawyers suggested. His estate was in order....or so he thought. The Public Guardian of San Mateo Co, Ca. became involved due to sibling disagreements
One of the best advantages of living in the Bay Area, besides the beautiful weather, is the tremendous amount of opportunities that it offers for fun-lovers like us!! Today we feature the San Mateo County Fair, which is going on from Aug 10th to Aug 19th 2007, so if you've not already visited it, you need to check this out. (photo courtesy of official website)This year is extra special, because it celebrates the 150th Anniversary of San Mateo County. (Incidentally India celebrates its 60th anniversary of Independence today!!) From food to rides, concerts to exhibits, and more, the fair is a full day's worth of fun and excitement for as low as $6. They also have mainstage entertainment featuring famous bands like Blue October, Hawthorn heights, REO Speedwagon and more. Some highlights for this year's fair are the pig races, giant BMX bike show, and Lifehouse concert in the Expo Hall. You can check out showtimes at their official website http://www.sanmateocountyfair.com/entertainment

I gladly welcomed the suggestion of a trip to 750 ml in San Mateo a few nights ago, as the visit marks another item I can check off my list of things to do/ places to go. And, I’d have to say, my best wine-tasting experience over the past couple weeks. Part shop, part tasting bar…the space is not large, with a few tables and less than 10 seats at the bar. I’m guessing it can get cramped when there’s a crowd, but this particular night was fine. I found it to be inviting, especially with the abundance of artwork on the walls. BK and I started by getting a few tastes from the Enomatic–the wine dispenser dishing out 24 (not run-of-the-mill) wines. We also ordered wine from the bar, which I actually enjoyed even more. One was a very nice 2005 Paul Mathew Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast: much more subdued than CA Pinot I’ve gotten used to– lighter in color, body, and alcohol–and its pure strawberry made me happy. Also my first Gruet:a spar
