Beltane Ritual by the Correllian Nativist Church International and the Temple of Astral Light at Trinity Temple in Albany, New York on May 5, 2007.
this is a non-English video but as the Southern Hempisphere will be celebrating Samhain as we in the Northern Hemisphere will be celebrating Beltane it seemed appropriate.

Gestern vormittag, mein Ahnenaltar.

Was brauche ich wirklich?
Warm greetings to one and all.
This week I turned 52 (on Tues.), celebrated my birthday with a couple days off work and doing nothing but relaxing. I am going for two more tattoos Nov. 18 to mark the occasion.
Angelgirl had a lovely time trick or treating last night, she had a friend come along and the girls had a blast together. She weighed her stash when she got home - 7 1/2 lbs of sugary goodness. Luckily she doesn’t like a lot of candy and she has more fun sorting it into various zip lock bags then she does eating it.
My lap top no longer connects to the internet and my desk top computer doesn’t have a slot (or I can’t find it any way) to put in the disk for the digital pictures - but one of these days I hope to get a photo of her up in her costume. (I’m so bummed without my lap top but no clue how to fix it - we have tried everything and anything but nothing works - and all the diagnostic tests we ran say there is nothing wrong.)

A Samhain Poem"We stand at the crossroads of the Earth:That interstice, where death and lifeDo meet, and hold each other closeFor bright, brief space of time.So Merry Meet! In sweet embraceAt this brief point in time and space.I lift the veil between the worldsThat we may join here in this place. The way is open, the ground preparedFor as long as this time may lastThat we may come together hereFor as long as this circle's cast.So come, Beloveds, and briefly walkThe roads of life once more,That we may speak, here you departBack for that farther shore."Miriam
To most people, today is Halloween. However, today's holiday is steeped in history from many older religions. Some of these holidays occur at different times of the year. However, they all have similar themes. It is a time when they believe that the veil that separates this world and the spirit world is at its thinest.
In Mexico, they celebrate El Dia De Los Muertos on November 1st and 2nd.
Here is a poem that I wrote back in 2003 for Samhain.
Samhain Night October 25, 2003
Darkness creeps in the land quiets down anticipation of visits as the veil thins Relatives long gone Coming by for a chat Their spirits are here with us Closer then ever before Love ones we have missed Others we are glad are gone Those not known to us All here to visit once more Witches
The vibrant colors of Autumn are always magnificent. I’ve watched the trees in our backyard as they slowly gained their hues of red, gold, and yellow. All the leaves whimsically fluttering to the ground. Yesterday and the day previous I brought them all together to make a splendid leaf pile for my children to heave themselves into; whisking mounds of leaves into the air as they plop right down in the middle in fits of laughter. Autumn is such a fascinating time of year. It represents how things come to change. With the change brings October my favorite month as it leads into Samhain. A witch’s new year. Samhain means “summer’s end”. Samhain begins at Sundown on October 31st. It is said that on Samhain the veil between the two worlds, humans and spirits is the thinnest. Some also say the doors to the Faery Realm opens and the dead come to visit their kin once more. Since ancient times in Ireland, Scotland, and England, October 31st has been celebrated
My training was to use spells “to help and heal in times of need” or to better oneself
and to always remember to ”harm none”.
Spells included in this feature will adhere to these guidelines.
A Prosperity Spell by Rowan Moonstone - plan to use this on Samhain!!!
For those who are curious, the intent of the spell is to attract money. More specifics are available on the spell author’s page by following the link.
notes:
the author suggests the spell be cast quarterly
it calls for 16 candles (gold, green, and white), pine oil, and salt
the spell gives very specific timing guidelines - “The spell is to begin at one minute past midnight (during daylight savings time that means 1AM) on the night of April 30 (May 1), July 31 (Aug 1), Oct 31 (Nov. 1) and Jan 31 (Feb 1)
In other words, on the first minute of the cross quarter day. “
Well, last night I swallowed my feelings of unworthiness and submitted Whisper Moon to Samhain. The discovery of what the book has become is astounding. It took a life of it's own and is nowhere near the book I had originally planned. Which, I guess could be a good thing. Maybe that means the muse is shoving me to the side and saying, "Hey, scoot over. I can do so much better than that."And she has, although I'm a little frightened at how complicated she has made the plot and how much different the book is from my original concept, but I'm sure we can come to terms and collaborate. It's now the story of werewolves with wings that protect the human world from the evil lurking in The Natural Realm. It's so complicated(shaking my head and lol). Of course, it just feels like that to me because I'm not so sure I should've come up with such unusual creatures. I proposed Whisper Moon as the first book in a trilogy set. The second book will be wrapped around vampires and the third will i
