      Indian salaries grow @14%
India is likely witness over 14 per cent increase in salaries annually for the next three years even as there has been a sharp rise in input costs due to inflation, a latest study says. India, Vietnam and Indonesia are the only three countries in the Asia-Pacific region which are likely to see a double-digit increase in salaries until 2011, as per a report. “For India, although we forecast a

UFC Fighter Salaries - It's All Relative
The biggest issue heating up mixed martial arts is compensation. It was only a matter of time. I sympathize with these athletes who are doing some of the preliminary math and noticing that the organizations are bringing in millions of dollars, while most of them are only getting one percent of one percent, but it's not as lopsided as it might appear on the surface. Residency Salaries
I started obsessing about how many years it takes to become an MD, so I was comforted by the statistics I found for the mean salary of residencies nationwide. It's not as bad as I thought. Although residencies are the equivalent of hell-week spread out over 3 plus years, at least we are compensated for our work. I found out there are also many perks besides just the salary. I know this is premature, but it is something to look forward to following four or more years of school. The 2007 Mean stipends in United States for a MD Resident (also called house-staff) from any specialty were as follows: 1st Year (PGY1 / Intern ): $44,0002nd Year (PGY2): $46,0003rd Year (PGY3): $48,0004th Year (PGY4): $52,000/-5th Year (PGY5): $54,000/-6th Year (PGY6): $54,000/- Note: These are means based on a nat

Will Higher Teacher Salaries Lead To Quality?
The education world is going to closely follow a new charter school opening in New York that is planning on paying its teachers $125,000 a year in hopes that they can attract the type of people who can boost student achievement. As reported by Elissa Gootman of the New York Times the idea has people taking notice:"This is an approach that has not been tried in this way in American education, and it opens up a slew of fascinating opportunities," said Frederick M. Hess, director of education policy studies at the American Enterprise Institute. That $125,000 figure could have a catalytic effect."One of the most interesting parts of the story is that the principal of the school, called the Equity Project, is going to be paid $90,000 a year.

      Physician Salaries on the Decline
Sources: American Medical Association, American Medical Student Association, Center for Studying Health System Change, New York Times Last year (2006) a story published in the New York Times reported something troubling. Physician salaries are on the decline. the average physician’s net income declined 7 percent from 1995 to 2003, after adjusting for inflation, while incomes of lawyers and other professionals rose by 7 percent during the period. Some people do not think that this decline is a problem at all. Even with the decline, physicians are still making a decent salary. They aren’t going hungry. Maybe they have to forego a brand new S-class, but doctors don’t live off of welfare. And with the ever-increasing costs of healthcare, physician salaries just don’t seem as important. It is very important. This country is headed towards a severe physician shortage. New medical schools are opening up and existing schools are expanding their freshman class sizes i

Gender Affects Salaries, But Maybe Not How You Think
“Women working full time earn about 77 percent of the salaries of men working full time”. That number is a little misleading, as it doesn’t take into account education and employee status, but the difference is still 11% when equal employees are studied across genders. We all know the gender differences in salary still exists in business and so does the glass ceiling to some extent.  The common explanation is sexism and deliberate underpayment of women. Linda Babcock, professor of economics at Carnegie Mellon University, has been studying the issue at length and has produced some interesting findings. Time and again her research shows that women are much less aggressive, and their finances take a hit because of it. An 11% hit in starting salary could end up costing a women over half a million dollars or more during a 30 year career. Do the readers agree with this assessment? Is the solution to teach women to be more aggressive? This is one of those situations w

Splitters and drop a bombs and parking salaries for BONDEES
Recently I was asked by question from Alex on an earlier article so I thought I would share this as you need to step up your creative juices. It is your money after all. Change your own spots.....be the bankerYes splitters and bomb drops and parking your salary all end up towards a similar end result. Either easing your home loan payment load or playing bank yourself and using your home loan account as a kind of savings account. The banks in general prefer to MANAGE your money for you, but of course at a service cost. The key to all of this is DO YOU HAVE ACCESS TO ANY ADDITIONAL MONEY PAID INTO YOUR BOND ACCOUNT.SO instead of splitters etc try to stay away from stop orders etc. Instead turn your bond account into your current account.Make sure you have Internet access to both your bond account and your current account. If you can link them together even better so.Then make sure your salaries or income is paid into your bond account on a monthly basis. AT month end transfer the total su

Top 10 Salaries in the NFL as Published in the USA Today
USA Today has Published the top salaries in the National Football League, and some of the names, as a matter a fact, MOST of the names, should surprise you.  Topping the list overall is a HUGE shock to me, as Pats DE Richard Seymour tops the list after making a whopping $24 million in 2006. Saints QB Drew Brees is 2nd, and his 2006 season earned that.  3rd is Vikings OL Bryant McKinnie, the mammoth 6-foot-8, 343 pounder.  4th is another Vikings OL, Steve Hutchinson, who got a monster deal and took a lot of heat from moving from the Hawks to the Vikings last season. Jeff Backus is 5th, making an unreal $16.2 million last year.  Totally overpaid in my opinion.  Two top QB’s are next - Carson Palmer and Tom Brady, which is not much of a shock.  John Abraham is next at $15.5 million of the Falcons, with two offensive players at 9 & 10, Shaun Alexander of the Hawks and Reggie Wayne of the Colts rounding out the top 10 in the league. 1       Seymour, Richard       $

The first thing that I noticed was the deviation between the top earner and the average salary of the list. It let me know that there are a few bloggers who are doing extremely well but the rest of the pack are all well below those bloggers. The amount of money made by the average blogger on this list did not wow me at all. It actually let me know that there is still tremendous room for growth in this industry. It also reminded me that making money from blogging is very difficult and that money can't be the only reason that I do it. This is no problem for me beca

She advised concerned customers to contact their back immediately.  Banks are trying to ensure direct debits will be paid as usual. Such transactions can be refused if their payment means accounts will be overdrawn.  Ms Quinn said there was no pattern to the glitch and any company that had been affected by the problem should have informed their employees.  Employees would be refunded charges if their accounts were overdrawn or if they breached their overdraft limit as a result of the problem, she added.  She advised people who needed cash for the weekend to withdraw it over the counter, as cash machines could refuse th

      Obscene Salaries - Government & Non-Profit
Buffaloi.com brings to light a proposed salary increase for Dr. Anthony J.
