As of this Friday past our other sites LifeTime Gamer Arcade, LifeTime Gamer.com, LifeTime Gamer Video, ExchangeBanners.org & Bass Fishing Resource Center are no longer online...There are a few reasons for this, like some technical issues but mostly it is because the rising costs of doing business online a long with the rising personal costs of me trying to stay a live and pay bills...About a year
Many times few incidences in life teaches us a lot, it teaches us what any teacher in our school/college days could not make us realize....sometimes they do try to make us realize but we do not realize it so well until we experience it ourselves! Life teaches us the hard & bitter realities. I feel that in life, happiness comes wearing a mask of sadness and sadness comes wearing a mask of happi

I’ve been blogging about the Robin’s nest we discovered over the weekend - right outside on the patio in the birdhouse - and chronicling the activities as we’re seeing them happen.
Saturday, we discovered the nest, but didn’t realize it was being occupied. Then, Sunday afternoon, we saw an egg. And then Monday afternoon, [...]

If there ever was anyone that better understood and was sympathetic to the underlying issues and subconscious issues that drive good people into bad debt, it’s me. I’ve been in the financial crapper myself and then I built my personal finance professional life on helping people tackle these issues.
And as much as I don’t want [...]
I’ve been sitting here, shifting my stare from the monitor to the keyboard to the monitor, trying to find the words to describe how I feel. This, I find, is virtually impossible.
Yesterday, I learned of a terrible loss to myself, friends, the internet, the world. A dear dear friend passed suddenly, [...]
There are many times in our daily lives we feel overwhelmed by sadness. The passing of an animal. The ending of a relationship. The arrival of the bank statement. It's inevitable. And we occasionally need to remind ourselves that in order to experience happiness, we must experience that sadness. Yet, still, that doesn't make it any easier. That's why today I'd like to remind you of a few
The Vegans were pissed and thought it was gross (and even staged a small protest) but Danny Girton, the Guinness World Records judge thought “it was all so beautiful”. Uruguay, the little country with a big heart (yup, just made that up), had it’s moment in the spotlight on Tuesday, April 14th when they won the Guinness [...]
I'm going to take a moment out of my usual type of "reflection on childhood" posting and tell you that I was shocked, mortified, and just generally stunned at what has become of the Fort Wayne Community School System.I know that over the past 20 years, enrollment has tanked and I just assumed that it was that normal - people moving out to the 'burbs. Then I see this data and I was speechless for a good five minutes.Public School RankingsI'm embarrassed. There would be absolutely no way that I would enroll my son in the FWCS system as it is today.Wow.Wow.This makes me incredibly sad. I went to Indian Village. It's on probation. Unfathomable. And here's the Private School Rankings. When my mother decided to switch us into the catholic school system, I went to St. Therese. BTW - she did this to e
What I think:I'm very sad to relay the news that John Aherne, an Irish tourist who went missing in Stockholm over St Patrick's Day weekend, has drowned. His body was recovered just before midday in the water at Norra Hammarby harbour, in the southern part of central Stockholm.I'd written a couple of posts about John's mysterious disappearance, and had been hoping that he would be found safe and well. This is truly tragic, and my deepest heartfelt condolences go out to John's family and friends. The events, from when John went missing, to when the news broke, and leading right up until I sit here writing this, are covered quite touchingly on the discussion forum on The Local (Sweden's news in English). It starts with Karl (John's host in Stockholm) explaining the circumstances surrounding Jo
Where’s My Austin Real Estate Blog?
In case you haven’t noticed the blog over the past month just sort of stopped. It wasn’t because we weren’t into writing, or that we had forgotten you. It was really simply that we were stuck between a rock and hard place with the database that keeps the sp site [...]
This has been interesting to follow -- being a huge fan of Thom Hartmann, my first thoughts were shock when I heard that the US government, military at that -- was outsourcing in any fashion whatsoever.
But after a couple days of listening to the radio, reading the facts and some interesting articles that have come out, I would have to say I am pretty impartial now.
America's model
As we age is it expected that we pick up from time to time some events or situations that make us sad or give us grief. Those who are 65 or older (referred to as "elderly") have more stored up events or situations that have caused them grief and sadness than those of us who are considered young.Sadness and grief are temporary emotions stemming from single situations or events that cause these emotions. To experience these emotions are normal for any age group. The age factor means that the elderly have had more opportunity to experience them.According to dictionary.com clinical depression is defined as, "a depression that is so severe as to be considered abnormal due to obvious environmental causes or based on the reaction to a life event or circumstance that is of a greater intensity than
I know that everyone says this, but I feel that I have been so busy for the past few weeks, that I haven't had time for anything extra. I keep meaning to blog, composing blogs in my head, but never committing them to cyberspace.I have learned a lot of new skills. I have had to typeset and publish the journal for my afternoon kollel (The Hashkafa Circle). It is available through Lulu (in case you were wondering).I have created (or am in the process of creating) a website for the aforementioned kollel, which will primarily host video shiurim from Rabbi Meir Triebitz. You can see what I've done so far (but there is a lot more coming, both in terms of design and content-wise) at www.hashkafacircle.com. And it is amazing how much time I have spend doing the little that you see there now (includ
I still have a MySpace account. Some people have MySpace accounts and try to rack up as many friends as possible for whatever reason. I, like a lot of other people, use it to keep in touch with old friends and most of the people on my "friends" list are people I've known in real life.On MySpace, you can post bulletins. Bulletins are not put on your public page for the internet to see, but instead appear on the opening page of your friends' accounts. People use these bulletins to say all sorts of things. In the past twenty-four hours, I've seen a topic become a bit of a pattern on my bulletin board: people are mourning Heath Ledger. It's always sad to see an actor die, or anyone die for that matter. I'm a fan of Heath Ledger's work. I feel especially bad for his baby girl. But the attention t
The University of Tel Aviv has discovered a link between depression and a biological mechanism that affects the olfactory glands in women. Professor Yehuda Shoenfeld of the Faculty of Medicine implies that women who are depressed are simultaneously losing their sense of smell and as a result are wearing more perfume. This discovery appears to have been derived from research that implies a biological basis for depression found in lupus patients. In lupus patients and those with other autoimmune diseases, a particle known as an autoantibody attacks the person’s own immune system, appearing in the human body as an aberrant reaction to autoimmune diseases. This particle is a real novelty, says Prof. Shoenfeld. We have found that, when generated, it weakens a person’s sense of smell and ca
Lord God,
Salvation has always been to me the opposite of my sin. The fault is my own but I’ve always felt as if I was saved because the change away from sin was made. The decision being in my own mind. The ironic thing is that I only acknowledge the part I [...]

Unfortunately Aghora has canceled their performance at ProgPower Europe this year. Allthough we are disappointed in the band's decission, we do respect them and who knows we will be able to book them for any future edition. We have booked a decent replacement, the very talented Belgian band OCEANS OF SADNESS. They have released their latest album 'Mirror Palace' earlier this year, the album got overwhelming reviews worldwide. We are sure you will not be disappointed by this band, so we hope to see you all in October in Baarlo, The Netherlands.
Check out the ProgPower website for all the details and the latest information about tickets.
I woke up this morning completely unsure of where I was. Everything was blurry. The muffled noises coming from the next room sounded foreign, yet familiar.
My head felt impossibly heavy. My limbs felt as if they were pinned down. It took every ounce of energy I had just to sit up.
I pulled off the blanket and gingerly swung my legs over the edge of the couch. What was this bizarre feeling?
I'm not sure if any readers watch wrestling. I've been a fan for many years and Chris Benoit has been one of my favorites for a long time. Yesterday, along with his wife and 7 year old son, he was found dead in his home. I found this out last night when I put my tv on USA to watch WWE Raw and there was a tribute on for him. At that time, they were not giving any details except that he and his family were found dead in their home. This is what I find today:Benoit failed to appear both at Saturday’s live event in Beaumont, Texas, and WWE’s Vengeance: Night of Champions in Houston Sunday night, after informing WWE of a family emergency. Several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning prompted concerned friends to alert Richard Hering, VP of Government Relations for WWE, Inc. Hering, in turn, spoke with Fayette County sheriffs Monday, and requested they respond to the Benoit residence to check on him and his family. At 10 p.m. Monday night, Lt. Pope held a pres

I don’t have the time or energy right now to write a crafty response in reply to this comment, so I thought I would enlist the help of my brilliant friends to reply to this commenter with their own life experiences and thoughts.
The most popular post on my blog is entitled, Why I ditched Dave Ramsey. It’s gotten ton’s of comments, mostly it’s become a ground for folks to debt Dave Ramsey, but that wasn’t my intention. I originally posted that while Dave had written a caller’s concern about saving $30 a month on gas by driving a more economical and energy efficient car as being a ‘tight-wad.’ I felt he should have affirmed her concern and encouraged her to be a good steward and sacrificial steward with her finances. I said, “She was not being a “tight-wad” she was being a wise steward, one that sees the money she has been given not as her’s that God “blessed her” with, but for her to use wisely as God entrusted her with i

A gothic horror adventure game with survival horror elements. The game plans to make players confront their fears with only what they can grab from their environment to protect them.
The game is set before in the early 1900s, and presented entirely in black-and-white. Billed as a game for adults only, with strong nerves, you'll be using the power of your wii-mote in pretty innovative ways,
16 miles from where I sit is the small college town of Bluffton, Ohio. Early this morning, the ball players from Bluffton College, were on their way to games scheduled in Fla. The bus they were in, somehow (details not yet known) went off a drive bridge and landed on top of a truck in the middle of interstate 75 in Atlanta.
The bus toppled off the Northside Drive bridge onto a pickup truck on
The first I heard of U.S. Navy Capt. Lisa Nowak and her bizarre exploits, I admit I laughed. I made fun of her on another site, however on deeper reflection it really is no laughing matter. This woman is an achiever. She is brave, dedicated and she achieved something 99.9% of the [...]
On my way into work this morning I was listening to NPR’s Morning Edition and listening to a segment on Listners who called in to give some feedback. Here is what one Iraqi wrote about having a child in Baghdad.
“Why would I want to bring an innocent child into a bloddy savage world. . . I don’t, I regret what I did. I got my wife pregnant.”
This made me sad. I heard this with a backdrop of conversations that I have had with friends lately that want to have kids, that can’t wait to have kids. Then I think about what John Piper says about human depravity, and the lapsarian world. If I thought the world was only evil and that man was only evil and I was in a country that is in turmoil than I would understand this statement more. I tend to believe that humanity is beautiful and a reflection of the divine.
I hope I will never reach a point in my life when I don’t think this world is a good place to bring a child up, though I can understand how living i
Is there anyone out there who feels a little more intimidated about speaking out against the war or George W. Bush? What if Bush fell back on his old argument that dissent about his policies in Iraq can hurt the morale of our fighting men and women? What if Bush then decided that anyone who hurt the morale of our troops should be considered an enemy combatant? Would he throw us all into a Gulag
