You’d think a developer might get sacked for coding too many bugs but no its tester that can get himself shot. Doesn’t happen so much these days but several years ago that was the case on several projects I worked on. It actually sounds unbelievable that anyone that was doing their job that well could get sacked but that was how it was sometimes. There are also a lot of people that love the rubber-stamping of software, you know just a little test to prove that its ok. Of course there are timescales and budgets for the release of software and if these are messed up by some little twerp tester suddenly finding a load of defects, and he’s glad to have found them, rather than the poor old users, he’ll be accused of mucking up the release schedule and possibly getting fired.
