Nearly two decades of cricket may have taken a toll on Sachin Tendulkar's body, but the master batsman hopes to play in the 2011 World Cup and wants to realise his "unfulfilled dream" of winning the coveted trophy for the country. Tendulkar, who has been rested from the second and third Test against South Africa due to a groin injury, said he would not commit himself to play in the 2011 mega event to be held in the subcontinent, but would want to call it quits with a World Cup triumph. "Winning the World Cup is certainly still an unfulfilled dream and I would love to play in it. But 2011 is still some way to go, and I don't want to look that far and commit myself to anything," said Tendulkar who will appear for a record sixth time if he plays in the mega event to be co-hosted by

Optimistic Pune Real Estate Developers:The builders, however, still hope that the IT sector will see boom times once again and the present slowdown turns out to be a temporary phenomenon. It is the hype and not market that has slowed down,” he says, adding that school exams may be the reason for the present slowdown.Frustrated Pune Property Buyers:With rising home loan rates leading to the EMIs sometimes even exceeding their salaries, the IT sector in the city has gone a wait-and-watch mode. “I think the price hike was not just fueled by the IT industry, but also by the NRIs. Tendulkar and Praveen inspire India to series triumphIndia 9 for 258 (Tendulkar 91, Bracken 3-31, Clarke 3-52) beat Australia 249 (Hopes 61, Hayden 55, Praveen 4-46) by 9 runs.In the final installment of its 29-year existence, a series that has become a part of Australia's summer culture came to a climactic end with a fitting humdinger at the Gabba.Twenty three years after India's last significant limited-overs title in Australia, Sachin Tendulkar helped script another memorable chapter with an innings of skill and determination. There was to be no repeat of his twin centuries against Australia in 1998, but his 91 set up a total which, backed by Praveen Kumar's subtle-swinging accuracy, proved nine runs too much for Australia. In a game that ebbed and flowed wonderfully, James Hopes took Au

In Sydney ground (PTI): Sachin Tendulkar hit back at his critics who questioned his inability to strike form in one-day cricket of late, saying he did not bother about the comments of those without any credibility. Tendulkar scored an unbeaten 117 to guide India to a six-wicket win against Australia in the first match of their best-of-three finals of the cricket tri-series. "A lot of those people who can't do certain things themselves, they talk, so let them talk," Tendulkar said. "I look at the credibility of the person who is writing. I prefer to listen to those people who matter to me. They do pick up the phone and tell me," he said. Tendulkar said he was thrilled to get the century and more so because it was a match-winning effort. "Yes, to score a century in Australia was something I

He somewhat silenced these doubts by scoring a comeback hundred and a half-century in Malaysia tri-series.Despite his record of scoring the
Can Sachin Tendulkar join the honoured ranks of Sir Don Bradman or Sir Gary Sobers? Well, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown certainly seems to think so. If he had his way, he would recommend the little master for a knighthood."I would like to see some of the great players of the modern era — like Sachin Tendulkar — proposed for honorary awards so the British nation can salute their achievements in these sports."If Brown's remarks come true, we could be looking at the first Indian sports knight. In between courting trade and investment from India and China visiting British Prime Minister Gordon Brown showed where his heart really lay — at the WACA stadium in Perth.Complimenting India on its test victory over Australia, Brown shed his normally grave countenance."I congratulate India
If only Sachin Tendulkar had listened to his son, he may have a century of centuries in international cricket now. When the master batsman fell for 97 in the fourth cricket ODI against Pakistan in Gwalior, it was the 23rd time in Tests and ODIs that he has got out in the 90s. In ODIs, he has got out in the 90s as many as 16 times and in Tests seven times. He has 78 centuries to his credit -- 41 in ODIs and 37 in Tests, and the 23 missed ones would have taken his tally to 101. Unbelievably, he has fallen in the 90s seven times this year. Asked about these surprise failures, Tendulkar laughingly disclosed a solution offered by his son. " My son told me why don't you hit a six when on 94"."Well, these things happen. What is most satisfying for me is that we won both the match and the series," he said after India clinched a ODI series triumph over Pakistan on home soil after 24 years by winning the fourth ODI by six wickets. "I guess I got into this wrong habit of getting out in the 90's

A classy unbeaten 99 by Mohammad Yousuf guided Pakistan to a competitive total of 255 in the fourth ODI of the Indian Oil Cup at the Captain Roop Singh stadium in Gwalior. Yousuf, playing the anchor for Pakistan, held the innings together and paced his innings to perfection. After some aggressive running in the middle overs, Yousuf put the long handle to good use to bludgeon some meaty blows at the death. The enigmatic middle-order batsman crafted seven boundaries and two sixes in his 104-ball innings. Electing to bat, Pakistan got off to a sordid start as a disciplined show by the three Indian pacers early on did not allow the visitors to get brisk runs during the crucial power plays. RP Singh drew first blood when he trapped the in-form Salman Butt off only the second ball of the match. Skipper Shoaib Malik, who promoted himself up the order after both Shahid Afridi and Kamran Akmal had failed in the earlier games, added 78 for the second wicket with Younis Khan. The duo held the
PAWAN KALYAN has been creating a lot of sensations off-late for all the wrong reasons and other than CINEMA. But the latest revelation has been that the strapping band that he is sporting now-a-days on his right elbow is a TENNIS ELBOW!!! I think many of you would remember SACHIN TENDULKAR had a similar one and was in news for some time. So, how did PAWAN got this Tennis Elbow? Well, according to a popular website Telugulo.com, Pawan used to do farming activities in his free time at his farmhouse in Sankarpalli. According to them, while doing so... he must have used his right hand for plucking out the weeds to the extent that it gave him TENNIS ELBOW. And so following his doctor's advise, he is wearing a strapping. How ridiculous is that? I am not a medical expert, but heard that SACHIN got it because of his illustrious but punishing career. I wonder what must be the real reason behind this TENNIS ELBOW?
MOHALI, India (AP) - Sachin Tendulkar fell one run short of posting his 42nd limited-overs century after paving the way for India's imposing score of 321 for nine Thursday in the second one-dayer against Pakistan.Limited-overs cricket's highest century-maker, Tendulkar was seeking to end his recent jinx of getting out in the 90s when he edged paceman Umar Gul to wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal. This was the fifth time Tendulkar had been dismissed in the 90s during the past five months, three of those dismissals being on 99.Tendulkar gave a glimpse of his dominant strokes during his brisk 173-run partnership for the second wicket with left-hander Gautam Gambhir (57) before posting his third dismissal on 99 since June. The previous two occasions he missed a century by one run this season were against South Africa at Belfast and then versus England at Bristol. The last of 34-year-old Tendulkar's 41 one-day hundreds came in January against the West Indies.India lost opener Sourav Ganguly cheapl

SACHIN Tendulkar became only the third batsman in history to score 11,000 Test runs as India maintained the second Test pressure on England at Trent Bridge today (AEST). When bad light forced an early close to the second day, India was 3-254, a lead of 56, after making short work of bowling out its opponent for 198 - England's lowest completed Test innings score this season. Tendulkar is unbeaten on 57 with Sourav Ganguly four not out. But Monty Panesar kept England in the game by dismissing Dinesh Karthik and India captain Rahul Dravid for 2-50 from 18 overs. And fast bowler Chris Tremlett could count himself unlucky to have just one wicket from 20 overs, conceding just 32 runs. Opening batsmen Dinesh Karthik and Wasim Jaffer, often overshadowed by the middle-order, consolidated the advantage India's bowlers had created with a first-wicket stand of 147. "Every series we've played we've got a hundred partnership," said Karthik. "If we can get past the new ball tom

Sachin Tendulkar on Friday played an outstanding knock of 93 runs to beat South Africa by 6 wickets to level the three match series by 1-1. At one stage Indians are cruising to victory when they were 134/0 but in the space of 5 overs South African bowler came back brilliantly to dismiss Sourav Ganguly 42 runs of 75 balls (134/1), Rahul Drvaid 2 runs of 10 balls (140/2), Sachin Tendulkar 93 runs of 160 balls (140/3) and finally Mahendra Singh Dhoni 0 run of 4 balls (142/4). Sachin is regarded as the greatest batsman in the world today, holding several batting records to his name. Till date he has scored 35 Test and 40 ODI centuries, surpassing even the Test records of legendary cricketers like Sir Don Bradman, Sunil Gavaskar and Allan Border. I think Ian Chappel has come out a little strong here. Sure, Tendulkar is not the same player he once was, but I guess that happens to everyone. There are just a couple of players in all professional sports who have retired in their prime. Moreover, I think it is hard, even unfair to compare two players, Tendulkar and Lara, of that calibre. What if India had made it to the super-8, no one would be talking about Tendulkar then. First of all Tendulkar is just one member of the team, whatever he does shouldn't be the sole reason for either winning or losing. If it does then it is a shame on the team and not on Tendulkar. I hope Ian Chappel watched West Indies lose to Sri Lanka. I haven't seen many players get stumped facing a fast bowler. I can easily remember the times when people said Lara was a flop, after a few losing seasons. The point is Tendulkar should retire when he wants to. To come out and say that Tendulkar looks like someone who is playing for statistics is absolutely ridic
Part I: Debunking the Tendulkar Myth
The Sachin-Kambli record
Two kids from Shardashram Mumbai created history when they scored 664 runs for their school team in 1987-88. People expected miracles from them, and what are miracles? Acts that normal average men are incapable of doing? or maybe things they think they are incapable of doing. So act after act, every event keeps adding to the miracle
Sachin Tendulkar is a unique person in every sense. Everything he has done on and off the field exemplifies his uniqueness. He has been India's wonderboy, heartthrob, kamikaze kid, saviour, knight in shining armour etc. As much as his batting is unique so have been his dismissals and also the criticism he has faced.Don't you ever wonder that Sachin Tendulkar must be thinking what it is that I must do now after 17 years of international cricket , more than 100 tests and 350 ODIS, so that the critics simply shut their traps!Take the recent article by Sanjay Manjrekar on him. Read it and try to figure out what message Manjrekar is trying to send to all of us.Is he trying to doubt Sachin's commitment to the game?Is he trying to accuse him of faking injures? Is he trying to say that Sachin puts self before team and country? Is he trying to tell us that Sachin is in his own world thinking that he is still the 16 yr old kid who recently made his debut? Is he trying to cast doubts on Sachi
