I think Ian Chappel has come out a little strong here. Sure, Tendulkar is not the same player he once was, but I guess that happens to everyone. There are just a couple of players in all professional sports who have retired in their prime. Moreover, I think it is hard, even unfair to compare two players, Tendulkar and Lara, of that calibre. What if India had made it to the super-8, no one would be talking about Tendulkar then.
