Light Sabres Found in Dutch McDonalds!
Mc Donalds,Weselseweg 1 A,VENLO.5916 RD.Holland.http://www.mcdonalds.nl/templates/dispatcher.asp?page_id=1483Where is it?When you enter the restaurant turn directly right. Head down the corridor and you'll find the toilets on the left. What's it like?Every little boy in my generation will have imagined themselves with a light sabre. I saw my first Star Wars film aged six. I'm sure real world technology will catch up with film worlds by the time I'm 75. In the meantime I'll have to make do with this McDonalds in Holland, which has definitely made the light sabre the centre of its design scheme. The green poles of light come out of the floor and you certainly think twice before putting your hand near them. This place was fantastic, and must have been refurbished recently. Granite counter tops, and open stylish layout make this McDonalds one of the best I've met in a while. This was a pretty urgent stop on the way towards the German boarder and the service was slick and the hot

Jochen Hecht signs contract extension with Sabres
Jochen Hecht signed a $14.1 million four-year contract extension. That means he will wear Sabres uniform through the 2011-12 season. He is in his fifth season with the Sabres and has two goals and four points in five games this season. He was also named captain for the month of October. The Sabres acquired Hecht from the Oilers in June 2002 in exchange for two second-round picks in the 2002 draft. He was originally selected by the Blues in the second round of the 1995 draft.

      Maple Leafs vs Sabres
Fortunatamen

K-Lowe makes Vanek a lucrative offer, Sabres match
The Oilers offered restricted free agent Thomas Vanek a 7-year $50 million deal today, but Sabres' GM Darcy Regier has said that he will match that offer. The Austrian Vanek scored 43 goals and 84 points last season, a 36-point increase from his rookie season. It seems kind of insane to offer Vanek so much so early in his career for such a long period of time, but Kevin Lowe has driven the value

Sabres it's no fun if you don't play...
Let me just start this out by saying I have yet to watch the game. By the time I got home there was about 10 minutes left in the third and what I saw was pretty dissappointing. This is Mike Fisher I am sure most of the Sabres fans recognize him. He played great last night getting a short handed goal and helping the Ottawa Senators defeat the Buffalo Sabres 5-2. Also, a random note Mike Fisher

      Senators / Sabres Preview
This is going to be the series to watch, no doubt. There is a lot of bad blood between these 2 teams, as the clip shows. I can just picture Bryan Murray calling Lindy Ruff a 'fucking ath-hole' at some point in the next week or so. Could this possibly be the roughest series in the playoffs? I hope so.These teams match up well. Both like the wide-open style speed game, but can slow it down and shut the opposing team down when necessary. This looks to be a high-scoring affair regardless.Season seriesOttawa takes it with 5 wins and 3 losses. The Sens outscored the Sabres 33 - 25 in those games and outshot them 276 - 254. The biggest difference between the 2 teams this season was on the power play. The Sens were 15-for-50 while the Sabres' PP was a whole lot less efficient at 6-for-44. Wow.MentalityThe Sabres are considered by most to have not brought their 'A' game to the ice in this post season...yet. They are steadily improving, but not there yet. That was really evident against the

Sabres 5 Rangers 4: Rangers go home
Period 1Unreal. The Rangers score the first goal of the game at 17:10 after being outshot 11-4 up to that point. Nylander deked Miller out of his jock. MSG came alive for the first time since the pregame. That put the momentum in New York's favor, especially considering that Henrik Lundqvist was stopping everything that Buffalo threw at him.Period 2 Now a shootout occurs. The Sabres score just over a minute in (Kalinin) and then again just over a minute later (Pominville). The Rangers don't fall apart after that. Almost 2 minutes later Paul Mara scores from the point on the power play. 2-2. But the Sabres come alive again and score 2 goals in a span of 3 ½ minutes (Hecht and Drury)If you are not watching this game you are missing a beauty. Leave your yard work for tomorrow dammit!Call me nuts, but this is how the Sabres should have been playing all along. Their speed is making the Rangers look slow, and their "trap' absolutely useless. I've been wondering if the Sabres have

Best Concise Description of the Sabres Win
As for the Islanders, I hope for their sake that their game plan was predicated around stealing Game 1 on the road. Because their plan of take no chances, never have the defense pinch, and wait for Buffalo to screw up and hope your goalie steals a game is no way for them to win a series. They can win a game that way, but not the series. Hell, who am I kidding? They can't win the series. That statement, by Kevin on Bflo.blog, pretty much sums up the Sabres 4-1 victory of the Islanders last night. Sabres Shutout Capitals to Clinch the Presidents’ Trophy
The Buffalo Sabres’ 2-0 shutout of the Washington Capitals clinched the Presidents’ Trophy.  While Detroit creamed Chicago  7-2 and is tied in points with Buffalo, the Sabres have more wins.  Buffalo still has one game to go tomorrow, against the Flyers, but Detroit has wrapped up their regular season. The Sabres’ franchise-record 53rd win was enough to lock up the team’s first Presidents’ Trophy title and home-ice advantage throughout the Stanley Cup playoffs that begin next week. Buffalo will wrap up the regular season Sunday at Philadelphia. As a bonus, Tim Connolly scored a goal in his first game back since sustaining a concussion in last year’s playoffs. Leafs 4 Sabres 1: That's more like it.
Here I bash the Leafs this afternoon pregame and then they come out and shut the Buffalo machine down tonight. Why can't the Leafs play like this all the time? They looked like the Canucks in a sense, playing so tight defensively. But they also forechecked hard and stayed on the Sabres players. In the beginning of the 3rd, their brains farted for about 5 minutes, and that insanity took over again, coughing the puck up, scrambling, giving up 2-on-1's, breakaways. Andrew Raycroft stoned Buffalo though. When Antropov tipped a McCabe point shot at 5:04 of the 3rd, you had to wonder if it was going to be deja-vu all over again. But it didn't happen. The Leafs shut them down the rest of the way in convincing fashion.Unreal..The 7th-11th seeds in the East all won tonight, making last night's Leafs meltdown that much more difficult to accept. What a race.Coach's Corner was good tonight. Don Cherry tackled the 'fighting issue' in the way that you knew he would. And yes, Ron MacLean is an

Buffalo Sabres Win a Close One Over the Florida Panthers
The Florida Panthers out shot the Buffalo Sabres 33 to 16. The Sabres won the game 2 to 1. This game was a nail biter from the git go. The Panthers hit the ice skating and shooting and never let up. Ryan Miller earned his money in this game. I was disturbed at times because the Sabres seemed to try too hard to finesse the puck into the net rather than just laying some shots on Ed Belfour. I also must acknowledge that this formula is working for Buffalo, but it is nerve racking at times while watching the games. The game had some skirmishes between the teams and I thought this was partly a result of some inconsistent officiating. There were some obvious calls that were never made. The Sabres seem to give away some good scoring chances to other teams too often when miscues occured as they got carried away passing the puck around looking for the perfect shot. Max Afinogenov scored the winning goal by being in the perfect spot to shovel a pass past Belfour. Max received the 1st st

Lightning Strikes Twice but Sabres Strike 7 Times
Lightning may have struck twice in the HSBC arena last night, but it wasn’t enough for Tampa Bay to overcome the 7 goal second period by the Buffalo Sabres. I was in for a real treat last night, I had seats just inside the blue line, 13 rows from the ice, on the end where all 9 goals were scored.  The view was fantastic.  Even though the Sabres had the game well in hand, very few people left early. The game was an unusual one due to the bizarre 2nd period.  First, there was the Sabres scoring 7 goals and making it look extremely easy.  Second, the review of one of the Sabres’ goals took forever.  Third, the glass was broken and had a nice sized hole which caused the referees to end the period with 2:08 left and tack the time on to open the 3rd period before the teams switched ends. One of the highlights of the game, at least for me, is the sound that emanates from Max Afinogenov’s skates as he dances around the opposition while still

Seven and OH! That's How the Sabres Go
The league leading Sabres just did it again, knocked off the Carolina Hurricanes and are still undefeated.  Afinogenov kicked it into “max mode” and had 1 goal and 2 assists. Buffalo got their first lead of the game at 13:31 of the 2nd period with a goal by Afinogenov, assisted by Campbell and Roy.  The Canes tied it up a couple of minutes later at the 15:42 mark of the 2nd period. It wasn’t until 13:42 of the 3rd period that another goal was scored.  This is the one that put the Sabres in the lead for good.  Vanek scored it with assists by Afinogenov and Roy.  Spacek added an insurance goal at the 15:24 mark, assisted by Vanek and Afinogenov. Commodore added a Carolina goal at 18:45 of the 3rd, but it was not enough.  The Canes drop to 3-4-1 for the season with a total of 7 points. Max Afinogenov is the type of player that can make a big difference.  We’ve seen his moves in the past.  This season Max is playing more cons
