Not like the Italian bootleg CD "Sab's Furore" this copy of the legendary vinyl bootleg "Killing Yourself To Die" is a really brilliant piece of work. Soundquality as good as on the vinyl and great artwork as you can see leaves only one main difference between the vinyl and the CD: the price! Like "The Ray Gillen Years" this CD was released by Bondage Music in Japan

Wild rocker Ozzy Osbourne is giving up trying to make plans for a Black Sabbath 40th anniversary tour, because his bandmates cannot make their minds up.The rock legend first heard there was a big tour planned and the next thing he knew, it had been called off. And now Osbourne’s tired of all the [...]

“Si ocurre, bien.Si no, también”
En estos términos se ha expresado el Madman en una reciente entrevista concedida al diario THE SYDNEY MORNING HERALD tras ser preguntado por una posible reunión de la formación original de BLACK SABBATH para conmemorar el 40 aniversario de la mítica banda británica de Hard Rock.

Somehow Bob Thiel missed some news that concerned a Living Church of God member which has implications for United Church of God members as well as all Sabbath keepers. There was a fairly important case decided in the 4th circuit regarding the rights of Sabbath keepers in the workplace. This decision could be viewed as a setback. From Jonathan TurleyDavid Wise, a worker at a Firestone facility in North Carolina, will be forced to chose between his faith and his job under an important ruling from the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. A member of the the Living Church of God, Wise is required to take a greater number of days off than most employees and sued when he was terminated for these practices as violative of his religious rights. The Court ruled against him and held that Firestone could
Fuente.
When I first moved to this small, conservative, Dutch-Reformed, Western Michigan town, it was hard to adjust to some of the longtime residents customs. Our first big run in with the neighbors occurred about 3 weeks after we moved in. On a fine sunday afternoon, after lunch with the family I was instructed to go and mow the lawn. Where I used to live this would be no problem at all. I grew up in a predominantly catholic town, which was about 25 minutes outside of Chicago. It was a fairly large town, with good people and amazingly good times. Back to the story, so I grabbed the lawnmower and started it, and proceeded to mow the lawn. About 10 minutes into my task a neighbor came by and asked me what I was doing, I looked at him like he was a moron, so he went and knocked on the door and asked for my mother. He then proceeded to tell her, in a fashion that i found out later to be typical dutch reformed snobbery, that in this town we don’t do “manual labor” on

For the law was given through Moses, [but] grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:17 NKJVYesterday, while reading another blog (that I thoroughly respect, for the record) I came across a post about observing the Sabbath and what that means for today's Christian. While what my brother in Christ stated made perfect sense, and he did attempt to back up what he said with scripture, I must beg to differ. My brother explained that while he is not a Seventh Day Adventist, he is of the opinion that the bible indicates that Christians should indeed practice the observance of the Sabbath on Saturday, as opposed to Sunday as many, if not most do. (Of those that observe a Sabbath at all.) Now before I go any further, let me say this: I do try to observe a day of rest. Can I call it a Sabbath in the traditional sense? No. I cannot. Why is that, you ask? These are the requirements for Sabbath-keeping: A person placed under that Sabbath law could not leave his home on the Sabbath (E

Southeastern Minnesota has been deluged with rain over the past 3 days. We've got a trickle of water in our basement; but that's nothing compare to others nearby. Author: William DesmondPaperback: 368 pagesPublisher: Fordham University Press (June 2005)Language: EnglishISBN: 0823223736(R)Seeking to renew an ancient companionship between the philosophical and the religious, this book’s meditative chapters dwell on certain elemental experiences or happenings that keep the soul alive to the enigma of the divine. William Desmond engages the philosophical work of Pascal, Kant, Hegel, Nietzsche, Shestov, and Soloviev, among others, and pursues with a philosophical mindfulness what is most intimate in us, yet most universal: sleep, poverty, imagination, courage and witness, reverence, hatred and love, peace and war. Being religious has to do with that intimate universal, beyond arbitrary subjectivism and reductionist objectivism. In this book, he attempts to look at religion with a fresh and open mind, asking how philosophy might itself stand up to some of the questions posed to it by religion, not just how religion might stand
Music is an amazing thing. I myself have always leaned towards hard edged rock, in the vein of your Black Sabbaths, Deep Purples, Nazareths and Rainbows. Never one to listen to noise for it's own sake, I have for the most part, found the last two decades pretty dismal musically. There has been the odd gem out there, but overall the success rate of listenable bands has been abysmal.
Thats what made our trip to see Heaven and Hell (the current incarnation of Black Sabbath) last evening such a thrill for me. I have long maintained that the three (and a quarter) albums this lineup recorded (spread over 25 odd years) are pure masterpieces. Due to the volatility of the band members, it has proven next to impossible to hold this lineup together long enough to reach Australian shores, although they did make it to Australia but not Melbourne in the mid 80's. Its been fifteen years since metal god Ronnie James Dio and his Black Sabbath buddies put out an album. Weve had three separate presidents since then, and the entire landscape of music has crept from grunge over to pop punk and then to rap, but it now appears the elderly badass and his band arent going to let a little thing like a decade and a half break stop them from rocking

My wife has been running up against this doctrine quite frequently recently (due to the fact that the majority of Reformed folks seem to be Presbyterian) and has observed a woman on a forum dealt with rather harshly (reminds me of a trial by the Inquisition really) because she has received the Westminster Confession of Faith, except for the bit about Sabbath Keeping. The Westminster, and the London Baptist Confession both read almost identically on Sabbath keeping: As it is of the law of nature, that, in general, a due proportion of time be set apart for the worship of God; so, in his Word, by a positive, moral, and perpetual commandment, binding all men in all ages, he hath particularly appointed one day in seven for a Sabbath, to be kept holy unto him: which, from the beginning of the world to the resurrection of Christ, was the last day of the week; and, from the resurrection of Christ, was changed into the first day of the week, which in Scripture is called the Lord's Day, and is

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath(1970)320kbps Black Sabbath's debut album is given over to lengthy songs and suite-like pieces where individual songs blur together and riffs pound away one after another, frequently under extended jams. There isn't much variety in tempo, mood, or the band's simple, blues-derived musical vocabulary, but that's not the point; Sabbath's slowed-down, murky guitar rock bludgeons the listener in an almost hallucinatory fashion, reveling in its own dazed, druggy state of consciousness. Songs like the apocalyptic title track, "N.I.B.," and "The Wizard" make their obsessions with evil and black magic seem like more than just stereotypical heavy metal posturing because of the dim, suffocating musical atmosphere the band frames them in. This blueprint would be refined and occasionally elaborated upon over the band's next few albums, but there are plenty of metal classics already here.Review by Steve Huey(allmusic.com)1. Black Sabbath - Paranoid(1971)(Re-Post)320kbpsParanoid was not only Black Sabbath's most popular record (it was a number one smash in the U.K., and "Paranoid" and "Iron Man" both scraped the U.S. charts despite virtually nonexistent radio play), it also stands as one of the greatest and most influential heavy metal albums of all time. Paranoid refined Black Sabbath's signature sound -- crushingly loud, minor-key dirges loosely based on heavy blues-rock -- and applied it to a newly consistent set of songs with utterly memorable riffs, most of which now rank as all-time metal classics. Where the extended, multi-sectioned songs on the debut sometimes felt like aimless jams, their counterparts on Paranoid have been given focus and direction, lending an epic drama to now-standards like "War Pigs" and "Iron Man" (which sports one of the most immediately identifiable riffs in metal history). The subject matter is unrelentingly, obsessively dark, covering both supernatural/sci-fi horrors and

Number 826Black Sabbath"Sabbath Bloody Sabbath"(1973)Genre:Hard Rock"The gates of life have closed on you"Screams Ozzy coherently (gasp). In those days lyrics meant something, music could be by the way of guitars, bass and drums (not an old Yamaha keyboard synth beats like todays music where bugger all know how to even play a tambourine today) music in those days were just that, real music."With 1973's Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (their fifth masterpiece in four years), Black Sabbath made a concerted effort to raise their creative stakes and dispensed unprecedented attention to the album's production, arrangements, and even the cover artwork. While faithful to the band's signature compositional style and sound, brilliant songs such as the title track, "A National Acrobat," and "Killing Yourself to Live" also displayed a newfound sense of finesse and maturity. The introduction of keyboards and synthesizers, on the other hand, meets with mixed results. Erstwhile Yes keyboard wizard Rick Wa

In Christian circles, even among those who do believe in keeping the ten commandments, there has still been confusion over the fourth commandment and whether we should be keeping the Sabbath on the seventh day that was ordained, sanctified and made Holy by God at the time of creation. To be able to develop a close relationship with God, we need to spend quality time with Him. He set aside this day as a special time of communion with Him. It is a time where we can study His Word, and let His Holy Spirit speak to us through it. A time that we can spend in earnest prayer, talking to Him, praising and worshiping Him.It is also a time that we can look at nature and reflect on all the wonderful creations that He has made. And finally, it is a time that we can spend with fellow believers, to worsh
God gave us His Sabbath day as a blessing to all mankind. A day that we could truly get to know and fellowship with Him, and not have to do any work or labour. A day on which to rest, away from the worries and cares of this world. He also ordained it as a day in remembrance that He is the Creator of Heaven and Earth. The scriptures say, Exodus 20:8-11 “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work… For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it”.I love this scripture. It shows how important God sees us spending time with Him is.I w

Did Jesus? Is it spoken of in the scriptures? Was there a new commandment written to amend the fourth commandment after Jesus died? Do we keep Sunday in honor of his resurrection? It has been firmly established by numerous historians and theologians that the books of Matthew and Luke were written b
