First of all, college cheerleaders are usually ridiculous in terms of hotness. Second of all, UCLA’s squad happens to be in my top 10 favorite in the nation. In case you are wondering I think USC is the best in the game.

The number one thing UCSF is known for is medical research. They are excellent in many other things, but research tops the list. If you were going for PhD / MD program, UCSF should be near the top of your list no matter what your home state is.I have no desire to pursue a Ph.D. This doctor said UCSF was a good school but I wouldn't really be taking advantage of its campus if I wasn't going heavily toward research. Between the two schools, she recommended Stanford. Now these are both high in the sky schools and I have no illusions about my chances. I'm still going to apply. I've briefly look

As the Change Congress project founder Larry Lessig noted in the project's launch Thursday afternoon, there haven't been so many seats open up for challenge in more than a decade."

It also will pay most room and board for students with families making less than $60,000.Financial aid director Karen Cooper says the move comes as middle-income parents express concern about paying for a Stanford education.Stanford tuition is expected to rise to $36,000 in the fall. Room and board will cost about $11,000. About a third of the university's 6,700 undergraduates are expected to qualify for the tuition break.

Stanford researchers have found a way to use silicon nanowires to produces 10 times the amount of electricity of existing lithium-ion, known as Li-ion, batteries that power laptops, iPods, video cameras, cell phones, and countless other devices. A laptop that now runs on battery for two hours could operate for 20 hours.According to Yi Cui, assistant professor of materials science and engineering, "It's not a small improvement...It's a revolutionary development." The breakthrough technology was published online December 16 in Nature Nanotechnology in a paper titled "High-performance lithium battery anodes using silicon nanowires". The paper is written by Cui, his graduate chemistry student Candace Chan and five others. The 10 fold expanded storage capacity could make Li-ion batteries attractive to electric car manufacturers and be used in homes or offices to store electricity generated by rooftop solar panels.
I don't follow football, college or professional, but when this piece came up in NPR's Story of the Day, I was riveted and had to dig up the video. I vaguely remember students mentioning this game when I attended Cal, but there was no YouTube then to clue me in. Stanford quarterback John Elway (you know, the one who later led the Denver Broncos to two Superbowl wins) led Stanford on what appeared to be a game-winning drive. With eight seconds left on the clock, Stanford scores a field goal to give them a 20-19 lead. Another outstanding cross country meet on "the farm" today at Stanford. It was great to see most of the top teams and individuals go head to head or at the very least compete on the same course so we can compare individual and team times.
