      Running Scared!
Surely there is no place for fear in the Premier League - but I think we all witnessed it last night at the Madejski. It appeared to be etched in the eyes, the actions and the minds of most of the Reading players, and it turned the game into a totally one-sided affair. Of course us Gooners are more than happy with the three points and delighted that we were able to stroll through the game in first gear, but I wonder if these are the sort of games that should be confined to a cup competition, rather than part of a fiercely competitive league campaign. Perhaps the time is getting near for that breakaway super league that keeps being talked about? I am not sure I would be in favour of that. I am too much of a traditionalist to want to see the end of the fairy tale adventures of poorly supported and ‘unfashionable’ clubs reaching the highest level, even if its usually only for a season or two. But there is certainly growing evidence that the gap between the top and bo

Westlife’s Kian Egan Has Claimed That Spice Girls Are Running Scared
Westlife’s Kian Egan has claimed that the Spice Girls are running scared over a chart battle with his band. This has all come about because both of their new albums were originally due to be released on November 5, but the Spice Girls have now pushed back their Greatest Hits collection one week. Kian has said that he is particularly disappointed by the decision because he would take great enjoyment in getting one over on Mel C. he said that “We would take great pleasure in beating the Spice Girls - especially Mel C because every time she opens her mouth something mean comes out. Our album (Back Home) is good, we’ve worked hard on it and it would have been good to go head-to-head with their one. As far as we were concerned, we were going up against them and we were up for it. But then they suddenly changed their minds. They’re running scared.” Last time both of these groups released albums simultaneously, the Spice Girls’ Forever only sold 71,000 cop

Finding Money in the Liquidity Crisis: Are Banks Running Scared?
Thanks Mrs. Reed for this photo. I just closed a home for a spectacular deal. The home was as we say in the industry, “real estate owned.” A better name might be bank owned, because the property was owned by a large bank which had acquired the property in a foreclosure. What really made me think about this transaction was a call from a local appraiser who was looking for comparable properties in the neighborhood and said, “Why did this sell for so cheep!” This call coupled with my knowledge of the current liquidity crisis made me think. Are banks so worried that they are giving properties away for bargain basement prices or was the property just marketed poorly at a bad time in the market? The property in question is located on Skyline Boulevard in the Oakland hills. It was sold just a year ago for $1,900,000. The lore behind the property is that both of the owners who bought the home in March of 2006 passed away shortly after acquiring the home and the prope

      Indigenous Mothers Running Scared: Elder
Australia ...An elder of the Mutitjulu community in central Australia says many Aboriginal mothers are taking their children into the sandhills because of fears the government will take them away. Federal police and members of the defence force are expected to be deployed to the community as early as next week as part of the Federal Government's response to Indigenous child sex abuse. The elder, Vince Forrester, says the changes are unnecessary and are causing widespread fear in central Australia. "When you're bringing armed forces into the communities obviously people's minds are going to start playing tricks on them," he said."You don't bring an army into the community, this is just intimidation of the Aboriginal community in the Northern Territory."

      Running Scared
by Denise Kincy Greg wasn’t fat. He just didn’t look anything like the guys I was normally attracted to; those thin, dark, dangerous James Dean wannabes. However, I had had my belly full of that sort of character, so when the rosy-cheeked, cuddly teddy-bear of a man started talking to me at the party, I paid attention. And I was glad. He was funny, his laughter sweet and inviting. We became lost in conversation as the rest of the party milled around us, dancing and drinking. He asked if I wanted to go grab a bite to eat. I didn’t think twice before saying yes. I blame Jose Cuervo for jumping out of those margaritas and gleefully declaring what a great idea it was. (more…)

      Anti-Dinning Crowd Running Scared
The 'anyone-but-Dinning' forces are hard at work in the Alberta P.C. leadership race. Go to any of the political forums and you are sure to find threads attacking the front-runner, with pundits attempting to paint Jim Dinning with such horrible labels as 'too-business' and 'out of touch'. The old and tired 'liberal' tag is wearing thin, especially to those who know better, so now they are searching for other ways to discredit the man who would be king. From Lyle Oberg's tales of wrongdoing by the Dinning team to candidate Dave Hancock's wife spewing unfounded allegations on her personal blog, the anti-Dinning forces have been in overdrive desperately looking for a way to bring the Dinning machine down. So far, none of these phantoms have stuck. While the Dinning camp hums along, focusing on getting their message out, supporters of the other candidates seem content trying to find a chink in the Dinning armour instead of spreading the word about their own leadership hopefuls.
