Storkboy Choons has reawakened my electro glands so I am eagerly lapping up anything danceable that comes my way. ‘I Feel Electric’ fits the bill perfectly as you’ll gather yourself from the opening sequences which come complete with some perfectly arranged synths. The song may never quite build on that auspicious beginning but Simone Rubi and Terri Loewenthal present a good case for a return to days of disco. I’m thinking Donna Summer were it not for this year’s love Feist on guest vocals. The major difficulty with this stone lies in the absolute necessity of having the perfect rough batch that is totally homogenous in terms of colour and free of any inclusions. Rubies unique combat mode is an asynchronous real-time turn-based hybrid combat. For players this means planning moves strategically with more attention to tactical rather than split-second decisions. This combat system combines turn-based and real-time elements. Under attack mode, every action has a preparation and recovery time, which varies depending on the action taken (attack, movement), the weapon being wield, and the strength of the character.This way, the player can cancel its action when in preparation time (eg. cancel the attack and run away), but after the action is performed he has to wait until the recovery time is over (and for a few seconds he is vulnerable to his opponents).The battle system is highly original, and the 3D graphics are impressive.The player is given the option of customizing a character from one of seven races: Human, Elf, Gnome, Dwarf, Orc, Ogre, and Leshy.
