What are routines? are Transfer/Update rules and routines one and the same? Routines are like conditions or business rules that could be applied to filter the data while entering the BW system or could be used to apply certain conditions on the info objects itself. There are 4 types of routines 1. Start routine- Could be used at two levels (transfer rule level and the Update rule level) This Start routine written at the transfer rule level helps filter the necessary data coming from the source system.For Example: If you decide to extract data that contain only quantity greater than 500 , then you could specify the Start rouitne to achieve this. The Start routine at the Update rule level provides similar functionality but at this point it helps direct specific data todifferent data targets.

I made a goof last night. A totally honest, simple, I didn't give it much thought before I said it goof. It’s been interesting this week, seeing how Pablo reacts to having his schedule all topsy turvy. Like most autistic children, he finds comfort in familiar routines, and it usually unsettles him a little when we deviate from what he is expecting. For instance, when I pick him and Mallory up from preschool, we head for home, and I stop at the Mailboxes at the end of the street to get our mail, and then we flip a u-turn and head for our house. If, for some reason, I don’t stop - like, it’s a holiday and we aren’t getting mail that day, or I can see that the mailman hasn’t made it to our box yet, he freaks OUT. As soon as I turn on our street and he realizes we aren’t stopping for the mail, he screams. I’m trying hard to break him of that for a few reasons. First of all, it’s ANNOYING! It is strange, I just have a good feeling today, maybe it is because I realized that I have routines in my life that I actually like. As I have written before I have had a problem with routines, when life becomes that every day life with not too many changes or suprises I almost freak out. My last ten years has been filled with changes, and I have never worked in one place for longer than 7 months (this because most employments has been project based) and since I moved away from home, ten years ago, I have not lived in one place for longer than 1,5 years.I have soon worked at the same place for a year, and yes, I have felt the ants in the pants and that is why I have been applying for jobs, just to make sure I can get a change if I want to. But this weekend I realized that I love going to work every day, I love the fact that I have gotten good friends at work and that I know a lot of people there. Developing routines in our own lives is the best way to create routines for our children. Children learn by watching others and when they see their parents getting up, eating breakfast, grooming and heading off for work the same time each day, it establishes an internal clock in them.
By the time they are school-aged, children should already have most of their routines set and be prepared for what is expected of them. This morning when I carried 妹妹 out of her playpen, I presumed that she would just walked out to go the playroom. She didn't. Instead, she walked to the fan, pressed on the off button, and then walked out!If she wants to go out, she would get her shoes and pass it to me. Then, she would lift up her leg asking me to put on shoes for her. She will also try to remove her shoes when we get home but she only managed to unfasten the Velcro. I bet the next thing she will learn to do, is kick her shoes out! That's what 哥哥 did when he was a toddler.妹妹 is learning all the routines!
