2007 Tokyo Motor Show Cars: Mazda's Rotary Coupe Concept
As John Neff of Autoblog.com said that, this Mazda Rotary Coupe Concept will show on the Mazda Stand at 2007's Tokyo Auto Show this October. This Mazda Rotary Coupe concept is based on the trio of concepts that Mazda debuted on the last year's Auto Show Circuit: The Nagare, Ryuga and Kabura Concept.Though no one could tell that whether these Mazda Rotary Coupe Concept images are offical release, but quoting from the auto cars fans of Autoblog.com, we can tell you that at least the head on shot of Mazda Rotary Coupe Concept is a touched up version of a Kabura sketch. Actually, this Mazda Rotary Coupe Concept looks mostly like a Mazda Kabura Concept.Anyway, whether or not these are official Mazda release, we are sure that they are showing a car we like to own. Ever since seeing the Nagare, Ryuga and Senku concepts, we've wondered how those radical concepts might translate into a production car, and we might have our answer in a few weeks. 2007 Tokyo Motor Show Preview: Mazda’s Rotary Coupe
Word from inside the pages of an unnamed Japanese auto mag is that this Mazda’s concept-inspired rotary coupe car will debut on the Mazda stand at this year’s 2007 Tokyo Motor Show next month. The coupe is obviously inspired by the trio of concepts that Mazda debuted on the auto show circuit last year: the Nagare, Ryuga and Kabura concepts. While we don’t know if these pics are official from Mazda or merely renderings produced by the magazine, we can tell you that at least the head on shot is a touched up version of a Kabura sketch. In fact, the entire car looks mostly like a production version of the Kabura Concept, though it features cues from all three concepts. Though it’s not known whether it would be front- or rear-wheel drive, the article is reported to mention that it would be powered by the next generation of Mazda’s rotary engine, the RENESIS(2), which itself will incorporate the first increase in displacement of a Mazda rotary engine from

      Renesis Rotary Engine
Forty years of rotary-engine racing success went into the design of the RX-8’s advanced RENESIS (Rotary Engine genesis – or rebirth of the rotary engine) engine. Incorporating many elements that made the RX-7 the most successful model in International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) history and brought Mazda the 1991 24-Hours of Le Mans overall win, the RENESIS engine is exceptionally well-built and capable. This racing pedigree is evident through the various motorsports series employing the RX-8, including Pro Formula Mazda and the Grand Am Cup.By turning a triangular rotor in a cocoon-shaped combustion chamber, the RX-8’s rotary engine efficiently performs the four processes of intake, compression, combustion and exhaust. The RENESIS engine is remarkably smooth and high revving — all the way to 9000 rpm — and offers a smaller engine footprint than traditional internal combustion engines (some 60 percent smaller than a comparably powered V-6, and 40 percent smaller than a f

      What is a rotary engine?
In a traditional four-stroke piston engine, the same cylinder used for different processes - intake, compression, combustion and exhaust. Piston engine allows each of these processes in different parts of the body. Each process would occur as a separate cylinder. The piston engine pressure increase that occurs when burning fuel ratio, makes pistons inside the cylinders move upstream. Rod and crankshaft convert a reciprocating movement in rotational movement needed to move the car. The rotary engine is not reorganizing reciprocating movement. Pressure is formed in cells created by the various parts of the shell and convex surfaces triangular rotor. Combustion leads directly to the rotary shaft, which reduces vibration and increases the potential speed. Provided thus improving rotary engine allows a much smaller size than the traditional reciprocating engine of equivalent capacity.

Mazda's Rotary Engine Celebrates 40th Anniversary
The 2007 RX-8 is powered by Mazda's rotary engine. For more information, go to Mazdausa.com. IRVINE, Calif., June 4, 2007 - Forty years ago, Mazda launched the world's first twin-rotor rotary engined car, the Mazda Cosmo Sport. In the years since, Mazda has produced nearly two million vehicles powered by the rotary engine."Only Mazda - a company with a laser-like focus on vehicle development and engineering success - would have had the perseverance and unwavering spirit to pursue the rotary engine," said Jim O'Sullivan, president and CEO of Mazda North American Operations. "From humble beginnings in the 1950s to a very bright hydrogen-fueled future, the rotary engine represents Mazda as a company that follows the road less traveled, and makes its own successes where others have failed."Through the years, automakers as diverse as General Motors, Daimler-Benz, Rolls-Royce and Citroen have experimented with the Wankel rotary engine, but only Mazda overcame the engineering challenges ne

Delirium Delirium is a rotary shoot-out. Nothing too radical here for anyone passingly familiar with the arcade classic Asteroids, but without all the additional temptation of pressing thrust and sending your spaceship flying off in exactly the wrong direction. Plus, it's had a modern graphical makeover and now comes complete with a drum and bass soundtrack. Here, your gun turret remains resolutely fixed in the middle of the screen, fighting off various enemies trying to get close enough to sap your electrical life force, or something. Yes, it's good old-fashioned alien blasting fun, but (especially when it speeds up when the background changes colour) that also means it's anything but a walkover. Controls: Mouse to move turret direction, mouse button to fire, Space (or 1-4) to select weapon.Tips: The homing rockets are handy (and the "Bombs" spectacular), but the Lasers are the most effective against all the enemies, and the fact that one shot can take out several enemies can reall

Rotary Cutters and Self Healing mats posted by TammyD
I understand the purpose of the self healing mat is to keep the cutter blade from dulling too quickly and to protect your cutting surface. But is there an alternative and is there another reason I'm not aware of to use the mats. I mean, if I use my rotary cutter on my plastic table top (I don't know what that stuff is--acrylic maybe--it's a picnic table) other than the wear and tear on the top, will it do anything else I need to be aware of. I want a large mat and just can't bring myself to spend as much as they are--even at 50% off with a coupon because it's not something I'm going to use regularly--plus I have to store the darn thing. But I'd rather learn from someone else's mistake if there is something else I should know. Or if it's going to immediately make my cutter blade unusable after the swish of the blade. :tounge:Last post by Therisa at Mon 24 Dec 2007 04:37:49 PM Total posts: 21 Visit PatternReview.com to read this entire topic.Research White Sewing Machin

Cutting Out with a Rotary Cutter posted by MelC
I love, love using a rotary cutter and have used one for years. With some fabrics, I have trouble with the fabric rolling or bunching up in front of the blade. I'm not sure how to word it. I was cutting out swimsuit fabric this morning that did this and it results in a jagged edge. I even tried putting in a new blade. It cut better but I still had the rolling, jagged edge happening. Has anyone had this problem and come up with a fix? It's probably so simple and obvious that I'll be embarrassed.Last post by thumperlove at Tue 11 Mar 2008 09:59:27 AM Total posts: 2 Visit PatternReview.com to read this entire topic.Shop for Kwik Sew at PatternReview.com

When it comes to my other hobby (fish) it seems like half of what I need, I can buy either at the hardware store, or at the fish store, with a fancy fish label on it, for twice as much. I'm still trying to figure out if sewing is like that too. Those mats are expensive, especially one big enough to cut out a full skirt for my big butt. Is there anything I can use instead that's cheaper, or should I just suck it up and buy the fancy self-healing mat in the biggest size I can find? The first thing that comes to my mind as a substitute is something my friend has for her toddler - it's these firm foam floor pads that go together like puzzle pieces, so she can create a toddler-friendly play surface wherever she needs to. I was looking at the Bernina 430, which has an oscillating hook and have heard they have excellent stitch quality. I have only had experience with a rotary hook. Also, does an oscillating hook tend to jam more? I have read that somewhere on this site. Last post by Big Dog at Tue 13 May 2008 04:58:30 AM Total posts:
