This was a cover illustration I did this past Summer for Directorship Magazine. The concept was to show the strength in numbers with proxy statements of a very large California retirement System known as CalPERS. So they had the initial idea of using the well known image of Rosie the Riveter by illustrator J. Howard Miller's "We Can Do It!" - Many women first found economic strength in World War II-era manufacturing jobs.So my idea was to show a similar image but with the proxies in her fisted hand. Which appropriately covered her face so that showed very little identity with a particular person or race. She needed to represent every person.My intern at the time was gracious enough to pose for the reference shots and she did surprisingly well. The painting was done 90% as an acrylic painting. There are times that I am not sure about my dreams anymore, will I ever make them happen? Well, only time can tell, and since I married young, I am always in a situation where I have to tackle many things at once. I married someone who wants me to clean the house each time our children makes a mess, yet at the same time, I can't just do so because I am working to supplement my expenses. So, I have to often argue the point to my husband saying that I will only try to clean up once the kids are done with messing up around the house, because when I keep going behind them, I could be doing it all day. There is no end to that since the kids would just take what I put away, back on the floor and have a messy house again. So I clean up at the end of the day when they are asleep. I feel like a robot sometimes that is told what to do and when to clean up, so I should be set automatic that whenever a child drops something I am right there cleaning, putting things back endlessly. Gigs on Air is coming to the end of their residency at 93 Feet East, but as one of their closing gigs at the Brick Lane venue they put on an eclectic mix of artists, the highlight of which was undoubtedly Rosie Oddie and the Odd Squad. After a rather abysmal opener in the shape of “Wrong Animal” (who decided to berate the crowd, and show off their lead singer’s ignorance both within the 20 minutes that I saw of their set), Rosie quietly shifted onto stage at 9:45.                                                       Barbara Walters announced on Wednesday's View that Whoopi Goldberg will be joining the show starting September 5th. Goldberg will be replacing Rosie O'Donnell as a co-host on the daytime talk show. The comedian/actress has won an Oscar, Emmy, Grammy and Tony in her long career.    

It looks like Rosie O'Donnell was acting her IQ again on a gay and lesbian cruise to the Bahamas. I think she needs to get some mental health treatment. I think most of the Left needs to get some treatment...

Cyndi Lauper, Erasure, Rosie, Margaret Cho, Dresden Dolls, and Debbie Harry were just some of the performers who proudly took the stage during the incredible True Colors tour benefiting the Human Rights Campaign. Rosie O'Donnell and Britney Spears may soon be touring together and after O'Donnell made fun of Britney's no panties parting ways earlier it looks like it's make up time. The one time shock jock has sent a video message to Britney Spears, welcoming her to the Cyndi Lauper show that has featured O'Donnell on the drums. How sweet. Rosie once invited Britney to live with her, her wife Kelly, and their kids, and begged Britney to forsake what she called her new "idiot" BFFs -- Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. I'm not one to watch The View or Agree with Rosie O'Donnell but, I must say in my opinion I actually agree with her and the way she blew up on the blonde chick (Elisabeth Hasselbeck) if you watch the whole clip you will see Elisabeth Hasselbeck interrupt a few times several times. At some point in the clip the battle gets heated enough to where they put them on split screens.
