It seems the sky's the limit when it comes to how much the media are willing to pay to get the photo rights to celebrity weddings. I am surprised however that the forthcoming joining of footballer Wayne Rooney and his chav-turned-Vogue-model girlfriend Coleen McLoughlin is going to top the scale at a cool £1.5 million, offered by Hello! magazine. We rested Ronaldo while Rooney was placed on the bench as we faced Portsmouth in the 4th round of the FA Cup. It should have been a routine win had it not been for a couple really bad linesman decisions. Early in the 12th minutes, Vidic thought he had scored from a corner. He headed the ball beyond the goal line before Mendes could clear it. It was as clear as daylight but the linesman's view was probably blocked and play was waved on despite the protests from the United players. Early in the second half, Larsson was brilliantly put thru by Neville and he volleyed a sensational shot into the goal but was flagged offside. The TV replays once again showed otherwise. Beyond the 2 incidents, we were dominant throughout the game. A combination of poor finishing, brilliant defending by Sol 'Judas' Campbell and an utterly in-form David James conspired to thwart all our efforts on goal. I'm only posting this coz it includes both my favourite sports teams, and possible 2 players who I really like. United players were given three days off after the Manchester derby before returning Wednesday to prepare for Sunday's trip to West Ham United. Here's the thing I don't get. You're given 3 days off after a gruelling week of soccer and you fly across the Alantic to catch a basketball game between the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks? Shouldn't Rooney be at home resting instead of globe trotting half way across the world? Sometimes I don't understand the mentality of these players. FWIW, he better be supporting the Celtics when he was over there.

We won this one despite going on down early in the game. Evra in particular was awful. After a run of good games, he couldn't keep it up, especially after being called up to the French national team in midweek. His passing was awful and Keith Gillespie was practically having his way with Evra. In the 13th minute, Gillespie headed the ball beyond Edwin to give Sheffield United the lead with Evra nowhere in sight. Throughout the entire game, Gillespie was abusing Evra.
