Ronald Koeman will be presented to the local Valencia media this morning as the club's new coach. Koeman said his goodbyes at PSV Eindhoven yesterday after it was confirmed he had signed an agreement with Valencia through to 2010. It'll be an uneasy presentation this morning after Valencia's 5-1 home thrashing by Real Madrid."This summer, I spoke with the president of Valencia (Juan Soler) about my future, because I thought it was an ideal job for me when I finish my contract in 2008," said Koeman. "However, on Monday morning they called me after they dismissed their coach (Quique Sanchez Flores) and in 15 hours we reached an agreement." Soler said after Valencia's thumping by Real: "We needed somebody to take charge of the team. It is not the first time that we've seen that the team is not well and for that reason we have looked for a person we believe will bring that initiative and that character we need. Ronald Koeman has agreed to become the new coach of Valencia. The former Benfica coach has quit his role with Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven to take up the vacancy at La Mestalla. Valencia sacked Quique Sanchez Flores on Monday morning and have wasted little time in finding his successor. Koeman confirmed on Wednesday that he was moving to Spain. This quote is being sent around the internet, reportedly from Ronald Reagan’s diary entry from May 28, 1986. I’ll be stuck in the office for several more hours and cannot verify this. Anyone have a copy of the book handy to verify it?
Update: As suspected, the quote is a hoax.
The close adviser to President Ronald Reagan, Michael K. Deaver has died today at his home in Bethesda Md, he was aged just 69.
The family released a statement which said the cause of death was pancreatic cancer.
Michael Deaver was known for being able to manipulate the media on what the president said and looked like, he was able to do his job of protecting the image of Ronald Reagan like no one else.
The man was amazing at making sure the camera angles, poses and settings were perfect to enhance the Presidents appearance with flair.
If we could sum up in a paragraph what were Michael Deaver’s best professional qualities it would be best said by Nancy Reagan.
In her memoir she said Mr. Deaver’s greatest skill “was in arranging what were known as good visuals — televised events or scenes that would leave a powerful symbolic image in people’s minds”
May he rest in peace.

Since a lot of people were wondering why the hell Ron Isley was at the Soul Train Music Awards and not sitting in a prison cell - I will take it upon myself to update you.
As most of you know, his tax evading self will not serve the full 26 years he was sentenced to. His January 2006 sentencing was postponed until the end of August of this year, where he will supposedly only serve about 37 months.
That’s why he is still a free man right about now. His lawyers argued that because of complications from a stroke and a recent bout with kidney cancer that he shouldn’t serve the full term. Etcetera, Etcetera…
