To quite the great philosopher Keating, "Life is a rollercoaster." OK, that's Ronan Keating, but he had a good point.Sometimes you're up, sometimes you're down. Just remember that when you're up, don't spit, or you'll catch it in the face when you're down. Maybe that's only true of actual rollercoasters and not the metaphor in general. If you're a blogger, life is more of a rollercoaster than it is for anyone else, because your blog's rank will be up and down. But how do you know? The big G's rank system includes some tricky maths and only gives you a score out of ten, so it's not very exact. If you try and tack you're blog's standing on Alexa you should know that it is just an estimate based on a sample and extrapolated. But if you get yourself on the Izea Ranks website you can get a be

[Images via Hollywood Tuna/OMG!]Janet was spotted leaving dinner at Katsuya in Hollywood last night. She's undoubtedly celebrating her return to the #1 spot on Billboard this week. Discipline moved over 180,000 copies last week. Those numbers a low for Janet, but it got her the top spot never-the-less. I bought the album, and i give it an 8/10. Go get it at Wal-Mart people, it's only 10 bucks there. Check out this hilarious footage of Janet trying to teach Larry King the "feedback" dance:

So, since MCB has been back it has been a veritable rollercoaster ride of mood swings. Your never sure which MCB you are going to come home to.
For example, the other day hubby and I came home from work and were greeted by the sound of grunting from the broken down couch where MCB spends three quarters of his life. Top that off with the fact that it was an angry grunt. Now mind you, we had been at work all day and therefore had done nothing to deserve the angry grunting of MCB. We then went to exercise (exercising in and of itself makes MCB angry) and when we returned, he was like a happy little puppy with his tail wagging wanting to talk to everybody. Mind you, this was only an hour later!
From day to day, hour to hour, minute to minute there's no telling what ride you will step onto when dealing with MCB. As they say at Disneyworld, For the safety of you and other riders, please keep hands and feet inside the car at all times!
And remember, Don't feed the Animals -- you migh

J.K Rowling, who became the world's first billion dollar author on the back of Harry Potter's success, has given the go-ahead for the creation of a Florida theme park dedicated to the schoolboy wizard."The plans I have seen look incredibly exciting and I don't think fans of the books or films will be disappointed," Rowling said of the Orlando park that is scheduled to open in 2009.The park is a joint venture between Warner Bros Entertainment, whose Potter films have so far grossed more than $3.5 billion worldwide, and Universal Orlando Resort. In a statement rich in entertainment hyperbole, the builders of "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" said they planned to "create the world's first immersive Harry Potter themed environment."Barry Meyer, chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Entertainment, said: "Over the years we've received thousands of letters from fans around the world wishing they could visit Hogwarts (School) and the wonderful locations described in each of J.K.Rowling's b
A very addictive little game, a lot of fun too. I can say that I've played it for hours today and hardly even realized that so much time passed by. The goal of the game is simple enough, you only use two keys to control the coaster, one is to accelerate and the other to brake. You need to give the coasters passengers the ride of their lives through the track, while making sure that they keep their lives as well, since a few wrong moves, too much speed or a wrongly calculated angle can lead to the cars of the coaster crashing and your beloved passengers dying (well not really, they fall off the track and open their parachutes). While playing the game your performance is ranked by the amount of thrill you give your passengers, and of course the more are left standing the more points you get since you make more people scream with joy. Each trip you take them on is ranked from 1 to 5 stars according to this, the more stars per total on each track you have the more tracks you can unlock. Th

Both went all in, Phil Ivey with KQ and Joe Beavers with A2 (hearts), the flop came with A-8(heart)-10, Beavers make a pair of aces and wins the flop, then with the turn came a Jack of hearts and Phil Ivey makes a straight! but the card on the river was a 3 of hearts and Beavers makes a flush! great poker video!

…so after receiving the secret book of symbols, I ended up at what seemed like a remote railway system waiting for the elevated train with my Dad. It was kind of like what you might see in the movie Mad Max if there indeed was a railway system scene. The surrounding area was brown and dusty desert.

As the train rolled in, it became clear that it wasn’t a train at all, but a school bus on rails. There were no wheels, and the middle of the bus length was notched out so it fit onto a “T” type rail. Dad and I didn’t think too much of it, so we stepped on and thought it would be fun. Once it started moving we realized it wasn’t a regular bus-train system, but rather a School Bus Rollercoaster!
It was fast. Too fast in some spots and I was hanging on with all the strength I could muster. There were loops and hills and twists and turns but eventually we did slow down in preperation for pulling into the station. I was relieved to be
Part II - Secret Symbols (Read Part I)
After making my escape out of the driveway in the black sedan, I put the pedal to the metal and raced down the dirt road swerving and fish-tailing on the loose gravel. As I drove, the wooded area along the road started to thicken until I was driving slowly through a dense forest. I stopped the car and pulled over to the edge of the road because I spotted a creek with fresh water down a pretty steep incline.
I made my way down to the creek and crouched to drink some water and also to wash the blood off my hands. Apparently I wasn’t concerned with my bullet wound to the back. As I was drinking I could sense a presence standing above and to the right of me. As I looked up, a dark haired woman holding a very thick leather-bound book crouched down next to me. She seemed very excited that she had found me, although much more nervous than happy. She opened the book and began showing me each page which contained all different kinds of graphi
Part I - Goodfellas
I was at a farm house at the end of a long driveway. I was there having a meeting with Joe Pesci (as a mob character) and several other mobster types. We were surrounded by old school black sedans, and suddenly there was some sort of ruckus. We were being ambushed by the group we were meeting!
I started running up the gentle incline of the driveway toward the front door when I heard a bullet zip by my head. It was then that I decided I’d better head for the heavily wooded yard for better cover. As I changed direction and started off toward the trees, I decided I would watch the gunman so I could better dodge the bullets coming my way; and that’s just what I did. As each gunman fired a round I was keeping track of which bullets were coming first and zigging and zagging accordingly to avoid being shot. At one point I stumbled and was hit in the shoulder blade with what felt like a hot knife. A bullet had pierced my flesh.
Eventually, some of us made it
It happens so often that one buys a stock for the right reasons but sells them for the wrong ones. I make that mistake frequently, but with USG, I am going to keep reminding myself why I own it. Here is a stock that is practically flat since last summer, while the rest of the market has seen a significant move up. In December, the stock finally hit $58, up from around $45 in summer, only to fall back to $52 by January even in the face of positive market momentum. By February, USG hit $58 again but the market declines pushed it down to that coveted $52 level. Just when one would have expected the stock to stabilize for the next move up, the company frustrated investors by making a share offering of some 8 million shares at $48.60, so guess what, the shares are now at $48.60. Normally, this kind of behavior is reason enough for me to sell, and I often kick myself for doing so. This time around, I have actually written myself sticky notes and stuck them to my monitor
It was March 20, 2005, the day Pullen, a member of the Kentucky National Guard's 617th Military Police Company, became a hero. It was the day that would earn this daughter of small-town America a Bronze Star for valor.

Book Review: The Emotional Toolkit - Seven Power-Skills to Nail Your Bad Feelings, by Darlene Mininni, Ph.D., St. Martin's Press.Managing emotion has never been a part of school curriculum, nor has it been a regular part of parenting. Parents learn about managing emotion from their parents in a disorganized anecdotal fashion teased out by trial and error. A particularly adverturous child may have many opportunities for learning, while a child that is shy and/or particularly compliant has relatively few. The family style of emotion management is based on a coping method passed on informally from generation to generation by word of mouth. Our modern culture lacks the traditional rites of passage that help ensure we learn the skills of adulthood. Yet emotion management is the single most important skill that determines our social and economic success and ability to maintain our mental health. As a psychotherapist over the past 28 years, I have found that a major part of what I do is educ
I had heard a couple of Jim Verraros's songs on the internet and loved them, so I ordered the CD without a second thought. I was very pleased with nearly the entire collection. There is really only one song on the album that I don't enjoy. The rest are excellent. Very fun, extremely hot, sexy, beautiful music. I was a little nervous about how good it would be. I tend to be a harsher critic of artist who are in the family, I expect more. Jim delivered. You're not going to find a bunch of songs dealing with how hard it is to be gay, coming out, discrimination, yada, yada, yada. This music if simply fun, enjoyable, and celebrates being who you are and enjoying it, embracing it, and flaunting it. Finally! Thank you Jim! Not only that, but the music is quality. You can completely rock out to it. The slower, softer songs are equally as pleasing. Can't brag enough, and I can't wait to hear what Jim has in store for us next! - Brandon WittSongs on Album:1.
