Rodney KingRodney King, famous for a videotaped beating from Los Angeles police back in 1991, was shot and wounded on a San Bernardino street corner late Wednesday.
King called Rialto police just before midnight to report the shooting. According to Sgt. Don Lewis, King was struck in the face and arm -- with what appeared to be pellets or birdshot. When police arrived at King's home, they reported that King and others inside appeared drunk. The man got shot in the face -- he deserves a drink!

Rodney King was shot Wednesday night while riding a bicycle in San Bernadino, California. According to Rialto, California, police, who responded to the shooting, King was shot with a shotgun, but his wounds were superficial.

Rodney King, who’s 1991 police brutality case sparked the LA Riots, was wounded by gunfire lastnight. King was shot while riding his bike from San Bernadino to his home in Rialto.
Sgt. Don Lewis said, “He had been struck in the face and arm with a shotgun.” King reported that the shooting occurred at 5th Street and Meridian Avenue in San Bernardino, just east of the Rialto city line.
He was grazed on his face, arms, back and torso by what seemed to be buckshot from a shotgun.
When police arrived they reported that people inside the house were intoxicated. Lewis said that as Rialto police called San Bernadino police to take over, King was escorted to a local hospital, where his condition is still unknown, although the wounds are thought not to be life threatening.

He just gets no respect, maybe he is to slow or to small, but one thing I know is Western Michigan's Ameer Ismail knows how to play the game of football. The 6 foot 2 inch, 230 pound former running back is the Division I sack and tackle for loss champion for the 2006 season. He led the entire nation with 17 sacks and 25.5 tackles for loss. Ismail is not real experienced playing defense; in 2004 he switched positions from running back to linebacker. I would say he caught onto the other side of the ball (defense) pretty well. In 2005 he became a first-team All-MAC selection and was named WMU's Defensive MVP. He racked up 93 tackles with 20 tackles for loss and eight sacks. Ismail proved that was no fluke this season with 73 tackles, including 25.5 tackles for loss and his 17 sacks. Ismail wasn't too bad in pass coverage either recording two interceptions this season.
