Image via WikipediaSomebody at MTV has decided that it would be a good idea to remake "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". This 1975 cult movie classic that fans still go see in theaters at midnight to sing and act out the songs, is going to be remade into a movie to be watched on MTV with all new actors and possibly some new songs. Imagine Rocky Horror without Tim Curry; I can't. I've never seen more
WHY?!
Wasn’t the first one bad enough? Do we really need to be subjected to this?
Apparently so.
MTV (figures) is doing the remake, and plans on using the original script. Guess they couldn’t get any writers interested in such a shitty deal! Who would want to have their name attached to a remake of the Rocky Horror [...]

It is rare when the writer/director of a film can pull it off without the film becoming average to a disaster.Elliott now officially joins a list that is very long and includes Kimberly Peirce, Vanessa Parise, Peter Weir, Nancy Myers, Thomas Bezucha, Michael McGowan, Jared Hess, Robert Rodriguez and Paul Thomas Anderson. The worst of the lot? Paul Thomas Anderson for "Punch-Drunk Love".Elliott's film has two drag-queens—Mitzi (Hugo Weaving) and Felicia (Guy Pearce)—and a transsexual—Bernadette (Terence Stamp)—contract to perform a drag show at a resort town in the remote Australian desert. They head west from Sydney aboard a lavender bus called Priscilla (do not ask, just be patient and accepting). So I happened to catch an episode of Cold Case last night ... and it featured songs and clips from the Rocky Horror Picture Show - plus Barry Bostwick played the murderer as an adult. I sat through the whole thing and wish I could have sat through it again. Loved it. Brought back so many memories of my Rocky Horror days and the Coconut Grove Theater, and costumes, and and and.
Then of course I had to search to see if it's still playing anywhere - it's coming to Miami Beach in October - on Halloween -- I think I'm going.... no - I know I'm going ... yep, decision final -- I'm going.
Not sure if hubby is up for it - I don't think he can't match the number of times I've been, but if he doesn't want to go, I may have to call and get the ol' group together and relive the 70s.
I'm excited already.

Not for the straight laced or non liberal minded, take heed of the title.
From the moment you arrive, you wait and shiver with anticipation, surrounded by a great turn out of stilettos, fishnet stocking and of course do not forget the basques and mad hair.
The atmosphere was electric and it’s a shame that we don’t dress and have this kind of attitude towards each other every day.
You are warned at the beginning that no lighter waving, no water, rice or card throwing is to take place as one happy transvestite found out.
The show opens with the usherette singing science fiction, who also plays Magenta (Claire Parish), as the curtain rises to the wedding scene Brad (Richard Meek) and Janet (Sarah Boulton) are introduced.
The phantoms are cleverly used as set arranges who play an intricate part of backing singers and merge into the set so you barely notice them changing the scenes around.
