A couple of years back I took advantage of an introductory offer on a .co.uk TLD domain name. I can't remember the exact deal, but at the time it was something like £2 for a 2 year registration. At the time, that was cheaper than my current registrar which worked out at about £1.99 per year, so £2 for 2 years wasn't to be scoffed at (especially when you are registering 50 or so .co.uk's a month). I'd already started the transfer to my current registrar so it wasn't a problem. As I said, I was expecting the hike, and I only registered with them to take advantage of saving a packet. What I didn't ex

My heart goes out to the family of Jonathan Foy, the convenience-store clerk who was murdered in cold blood by an armed robber this past Sunday at a Tallahassee BP/Island Food Store. To try to comprehend how a fellow human being can choose to terminate the life of another -- his brother, in our Creator's eyes -- is simply beyond me. I just don't understand it. Don't want to.What I do know, though, is the unbearable grief that comes from losing a family member at the hands of a criminal. As a young child I watched my parents and grandparents mourn the tragic loss of my great-uncle John Vincent McCartney. Don't want to understand that, either. But it happened."Uncle Jack" owned and operated the M&M Grocery on 4th Avenue in Tallahassee's Frenchtown community with his wife, Aunt Mary, until January 1971, when he was gunned down by a couple of thugs who wanted something for nothing. The creeps would have killed Aunt Mary, too, but fortunately the gun misfired.Jonathan Foy and Uncle Jack
The ACLU is going to court to attempt to recover money which was taken from a truck driver. The reason the ACLU is involved in such a case is that the money was taken by the DEA:
A trucker has sued the Drug Enforcement Administration, seeking to get back nearly $24,000 seized by DEA agents earlier this month at a weigh station on U.S. 54 in New Mexico north of El Paso, Texas.
Anastasio Prieto of El Paso gave a state police officer at the weigh station permission to search the truck to see if it contained “needles or cash in excess of $10,000,” according to the American Civil Liberties Union, which filed the federal lawsuit Thursday.
Prieto told the officer he didn’t have any needles but did have $23,700.
Officers took the money and turned it over to the DEA. DEA agents photographed and fingerprinted Prieto over his objections, then released him without charging him with anything.
Border Patrol agents searched his truck with drug-sniffing dogs, but found no evidence of

Brian Wells, a pizza deliveryman, robbed a bank with a live bomb around his neck, but later died after the bomb exploded. However, authorities said that he was not a hostage, but instead was a conspirator in the whole plot.
Before the bomb around Brian Wells’ neck exploded, he told police that he was a victim and that he was forced to rob the bank. But he was actually a co-conspirator along with two others, Kenneth Barnes and Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong.
Marjorie was going to take the money that they received from the bank robbery to pay someone to kill her father, according to authorities. They planned it so that Wells looked like a hostage, so if he got caught he could just say he was forced to rob the bank. To accomplish this, they locked a live bomb around Wells’ neck and gave him instructions to follow on how to get the money and what to do after he robbed the bank.
After Wells got the money from the teller in the bank he left, but was soon caught by polic
