Chicago is the heart of a great arterial system of steel rails, concrete roads, waterways, and airways, radiating in all directions. No railroad line passes through the city. The Indian car market does not have any hybrid cars as of now though they have been around for over two decades in the US and Europe. Hybrid cars consume less fuel and have lower emission levels. Despite all these merits, they have not been popular with the masses because of their exorbitant prices. But now hybrids have become hot favourites with the issue of global warming and energy consumption.

A few months ago, Reuters was arguing that the Japanese arcade industry has been put into a reactionary position based on underperforming arcades and downsized revisions to earnings statements. Most of the blame for these trends, according to Reuters, was put on the lack of innovation from arcade developers as well as the industry not differentiating themselves enough from their console counterpa

Desperate for cheap publicity for its flagging campaign for the London mayoral and Assembly elections, the British National Party is now planning some dangerous stunts. The BNP intends to hang banners over a series of bridges over London roads. The banners are likely to distract and enrage motorists, putting them and other road users at risk. The Metropolitan Police will normally arrest anyone attempting to do this and close roads until they can arrange for the banner’s removal. Police resources are already stretched. Such stupid stunts will just cost Londoners money and distract the police from dealing with other crimes. This is a strange way to act for a party that in its general election manifesto in 2005 said: “ We will ensure that the main priority of the police be returned t

After different capitals like Delhi (country), Mumbai, (financial), Bangalore (Silicon Valley) and Chennai (cinemas) have got their own BWM outlets, it is now time for communist’s stronghold Kolkata to make way for a luxury car outlet. BMW has opened an exclusive showroom for its cars. It will sell all the models available in India like the 3, 5, 6, 7 series, the X series and M3 coupe. The cars can also be serviced here. BMW will cater to all its clients in eastern India through Kolkata. The BMW cars will be in stark contrast against the cycle rickshaws and trams. It will be exciting to have leisurely pace
Mini, BMW’s luxury small car was scheduled to launch in 2009. The BMW venture in small luxury cars segment is now delayed due to certain reasons and rescheduled for 2010. BMW cars are successfully rolling in Indian roads. But the company feels 2009 is not the right time to launch the Mini. May be the company has thought of some other strategy for its introduction in Indian market. But this is a good news for the German car manufacturer, Volkswagen who is planning to launch the Beetle this year. The Beetle will cost Rs15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh almost same as BMW Mini which will cost Rs 20 lakh. Being uncertain about the Mini’s success in India, the company has announced to sell the car only in Mumbai and Delhi.

This is a picture I shot at one of the multi-layered fly overs near our home. We were driving on I-35 East North towards Dallas. This picture shows how the massive roads have been built in different levels. We were on the second level, i.e there was one road below us, two parallel to us and two levels above there are roads leading to all directions. Despite this kind of infrastructure I am apalled that there doesn't exist a half-decent public transport system. I wonder why? That could save millions of barrels of petrol, curb pollution to a great extent and save thousands of dollars for common people. Maybe common people in America don't want to use public transport? I am pretty sure most Americans wouldn't have seen the inside of a public transport bus or train. Anyway it is their way of

Swift sedan Dzire is making a sudden appearance on Wednesday and not on Saturday as aired before. It it will be launched on Wednesday. It could give Maruti Suzuki two days of publicity and long queues of buyers booking it over the weekend. Its only sedan in market now SX4 which is already on top of the charts and Dzire seem to repeat history. Many believe that though the car similar to Swift in appearance has several firsts in its features.
With a fiberglass frame housed in a 67″ diameter outer flywheel, the Motorized Monocycle might just be the most glamorous single wheel ride in town. Powered by a 31cc, four-stroke 11/2-hp engine and a centrifugal clutch located in the monocycle’s inner steel casing, the innovative vehicle has all its drivetrain components and the fuel tank snugly fitted in the fiberglass enclosure while its outer frame provides a rather narrow and not-so-comfortable-looking cushioned seat and footrests. Ideal for riders up to 6′ 3″ tall and under 275 lbs in weight, the monocycle can cruise for over two hours on less than half a gallon of gasoline at top speed of 25 mph, which may not seem like much prima facia, but you should really keep in mind that the unique structure of the vehicle might become

Can You Make It Through These Russian Roads! This is Russian Federal Highway Moscow city - Yakutsk City, named "Lena". Though it's a vital highway, every time it rains the road is in this state. People are stuck for days with no food & warm cloths. Now when people have these sought of conditions to cope up with, then there are certain services also available to help them out: "An On-Ground Ferry" in some parts of Russia. As these roads are to muddy for the regular cars to make through, hence you have these 'four wheel drive trucks' which takes care of the people along with their cars & transports them to the drivable road. Rather than putting tubes on a rooftop, RES lays the collection system within concrete -- think the black asphalt of a road or runway. The piping connects to undeground storage areas. Day in day out, we tend to take to the roads that assure us to take somewhere. It is a life lived very often in plenty of familiar monotony and apparent inescapable boredom, but free of risk and adventure. Same faces, same contours and same smells-we prefer to like or rather we force ourselves to succumb. It is like being remaining glued to a makeshift web of the spider spun by none other but us. It is so suffocating that we rot over the decaying but freshly painted hanging bridges, knowing well that the next day perhaps they may turn out to be our most cherished unmaking of ourselves nurtured secretly as calculated dangers. That is why, I often thought of venturing out to walk briskly on the roads going to nowhere with disjointed tall bridges-just to be myself and none else; though I never
completion of any major transport link changes real estate values and development patterns greatly. Time flies they say and now that I realize that tomorrow is the 10th day of Ganesh Chaturthy, (a Maharashtrian only festival here in India) I realize how true the adage is. As many may know the idols are installed for 1.5 , 3, 7, 10 or 15 days in the Mandals and then immersed in the sea. The Mandal in our society is a 10 day mandal. The ten days since the festival began, I have been regularly attending the Aarti's (prayers) organized at our Society's Ganesh Mandal and have visited so many Ganpati Mandals. The creative ideas that people come up with for some of these mandals is simply fantastic! But anyway, tomorrow the Ganesha Idol will be taken in a musical procession to the nearest beach and there the idol will be immersed in the water amidst chants of "गणपति बाप्पा मोरया, अगले बरस तू जल्दी आ" (Lord Ganesha, you are great! please come back quickly next year) by men who have been dancing to the music throughout the way a

Since most of what I needed to do at home required me to have dry weather to work on, I decided to take a ride to the forest lands above Wilkeson, Washington. Luckily for me, from my front door to the gravel forest roads of the Wilkeson Tree Farm (owned by Plum Creek) is exactly 20 miles. The drive time, depending on traffic will vary from 30-60 minutes. My goal was to explore Forest Service (FS) Road 7720. It had been a few years since my last visit to the area.

I recently asked all of my "loyal" readers where they come from, why they read, and what their perfect sundae would be. I actually had "loyal" readers respond - although only one listed their sundae selection (thanks, MammasBoy). Since interest was so low in sharing sundaes, I have officially scrapped the project of adapting Taste-o-Vision to my blog. Your loss.My last post seemed aimed at amusing myself. At least, no one else got the joke. Again, your loss.Today I bring you a selection of what brings strangers here. At one time, my top incoming search was for "Dora the Explorer". Alas, Dora has been usurped by ultrasounds. It would seem that lots of people are interested of those funny pictures of our innards. Here's the list, compiled from incoming searches from the last week (including the searcher's choice of spelling and capitalization):3 week old embryocharacter and attributes of the holy spirit22 week fetusoptometrist glassesultrasound images of cmvbelated birthday presentNEIL
"The fires are not affecting bookings to Greece and the islands, nor should they. There is no need to switch destinations. Indeed, the way the fires are reported it sounds like the whole of Greece is on fire, which is just not true, " By the latter part of the week the fires, some of which are believed to have been started by arsonists, had been beaten back, although fire service officials said that the danger had not yet passed.

Here Is The New Video From UK Rapper "Example".For those who do not know of Example yet, he is a 25 y/o rapper signed to "The Streets" record label; "The Beats". He is probably best known for creating the response track to "Lily Allen's" "Smile", entitled "Vile", it received a good response & moderate airplay from "Radio 1" among others. Now he returns with his new single "So Many Roads", which samples "The Carpenters" "We've Only Just Begun" & incorporates it with some solid lyrical content & a cool video. I think this guy will be around for sometime to come, I like the whole vibe of his songs & hope to see more of him in the future.Check Out The Vid & Let Me know Your Thoughts?Feelin' Example,Let Me Know?
