Dear Belle and Tank,Last night your uncle glanced in his rear view mirror on his way home from work. The idiot behind him seemed to think three feet in between their cars was plenty enough room. He stepped on the gas. Maybe going eighty would give him some room. The idiot persisted. Finally your uncle decided he would just go ahead and teach the idiot a lesson. He slammed on his brakes. And on the

Yes the title doesn’t seem to make any sense but pretend that it does. Most of the time when you talk about heavy traffic and rush hour you’ll talk about road rage as well. So there you go, heavy traffic during rush hour is not only expected it has also become part and parcel of [...]

I blogged about road rage before. But today I almost feel victim to my own desire to flip out and retaliate. Here is how.
I am riding in my lane earlier today when a black Mustang merges not more than 5 feet in front of me and slows down. I slow down too, go around him and look at him shaking my head, basically letting him know of what he just did. And the driver basically starts aggressively cussing me out. I get pissed immediately. What do I do? If I was driving I’d have the option of getting in front of him and subsequently slowing down to a crawl speed. I can’t do that on a motorcycle. I have heard about the riders throwing coins at drivers like that and speeding away. As I am contemplating my retaliation I see a couple of ambulances on the side of the road. It is a rider down situation. The rider seems to be fine though, his motorcycle not visibly damaged. Clear sign for me. I should abstain from retaliation. I get to be an adult in this situation. Slightly fuming over
I realized last night that I have less road rage than I used to. I don't know if it's because I moved out of S. Florida, where people are willing to shoot you for cutting them off, or if it's because I'm getting older. Last night hubby and I were on our way to grocery shop and were driving through this neighborhood on a fairly narrow road. A lot of roads in this town are narrow, and there are some where a person can't be at a stop sign and have another person turn in, because there is no room. Anyway, we were just driving along when this little red car, coming in the opposite direction, starts laying on their horn. We have no idea what their problem was. Yes, the road is narrow. Yes, you have to scoot all the way over for two cars to drive next to each other. But in no way were we blocking this guy from driving by, considering he honked the whole time he was passing us and he never once fell off the road (damn!). Then he went up a little ways and stopped in the road. Luckily, I h
I think this is the time of year that I begin hating getting into the car. I think this is the time of year that ordering online sounds…well, appealing. Our 1.2 mile drive to Starbucks, on our way to our subsequent 1.3 mile drive to Vons has been nothing short of…well, eye-opening.
Yesterday, I drove from the house with the child thankfully strapped completely in. She always is, but as soon as the H.I.A. crews (that is—head in ass) start driving far more than defensively, I give that strap an extra tug. I had not realized that tug should have come yesterday. Neither did I realize that panties are tightly in a wad and this pratice is being taught to the youth of our future. Holy hell.
I pulled into the Starbucks parking lot. I was right in-line with the driveway when my friend in the Jeep made a left turn in front of me and damn near took out the front of my car. Okay, someone needs a coffee. I waited behind the person in a hurry quite impatiently
As I was reading news today’s morning I stumbled upon this funny article. A Sydney man was enraged when a woman showed him a “little pinky” gesture making a clear reference to the anti-speeding TV ad campaign.
The guy became so enraged that he threw a plastic bottle out of his car window, hitting the gesturing woman’s car. How insecure should you be to do that?
This anti-speeding campaign was launched a while ago and is a great hit in my opinion. Judge for yourself.
Road rage is an interesting subject. Millions of things could potentially trigger it. Anyone is prone to snap no matter how hard they would deny it. I am sure everyone has experienced a sudden urge at least once in their driving lifetime. It is just the matter of how much can one take.
There is however a huge difference between wanting to express your anger when driving and riding. When I was much younger some one told me that “he who’s car weighs more and is larger is always right o
No, not Britney... It's road rage the aboriginal way - presumably, and before I'm accused of being a racist, I'm merely wondering who else would use ceremonial spears in Australia, although the story very carefully avoids to say anything about the ethnicities of the people involved in this bizarre incident in the Northern Territory:
The incident happened along Matthew Flinders Way in Nhulunbuy about 7.30pm on Wednesday.
The offenders allegedly pursued the other vehicle and threatened its two male occupants as they drove towards the mining town.
They followed close behind them with their high beam on before speeding up to pull alongside the car when one of the men leaned out of the window and launched a 2.5m-long spear.
The ceremonial spear hit the driver's door, police said.
The victims - two males aged 18 and 22 - told police they were forced to speed up and overtake cars with haste to get to the nearest police station.
The offending vehicle continued to follow them and as they p
This post contains strong language. Don’t read it out loud to your children or employer (like you usually do) without reading it quietly to yourself first.
There are times I know other people believe my kids are misbehaving when I know otherwise. What my kid is doing or saying is perfectly innocent but causes onlookers to suspect I am dropping the ball in the parenting game. In these moments, I can choose to slouch, act apologetic, maybe even try to escape. Or, I can hold my head high and enjoy a little laugh at the quiet shock of strangers.
My four-year old is a great grocery shopper. He is typically sweet and cooperative and I miss his company when he doesn’t tag along. Because it is more work for me to let him walk, I usually ask him to ride in the cart for the first half. He’s getting a little big, though, and the cart hurts his legs. Last week I agreed to let him walk along the whole time. I kept him involved by letting him push the cart.

I know a great deal of us real estate agents work at home.... but does that eliminate us from Desk Rage?Desk rage = is similar to road rage - Right? Except I can't see someone walking up to their desk and pointing that middle finger at the paperwork, notes, books, pencils and if they were to do that I can't see that it would a satisfaction from doing that. Or bring in a horn and blowing it all day!But when I heard the term, I thought - there are days that I just want to put my hands underneath my desk and lift it up in an attempt to make it all go away! Have you experienced this?Lets not joke.... Real Estate can be stressful and I know mortgage lending right about now is not that great on the nerves. So having rage of any sort is not "un-normal". Don't be shy -- share your rage. Lets get it out and let it go!What is your one thing that you would love to do to your desk to show just how much rage you have. It may not be just the
The hubs is on vacation. Which means he’s back at home. Which means my “honey-do list” might actually get some items crossed off and I might finally get a decent back massage. Wink, wink.
It’s not all roses and romance now that he’s back. Apparently, I hog the bed. He forgets to turn lights off. But really, after being apart so frequently and for so long, it’s a small miracle we remember what the other looks like, let alone why we like them.
Last night, we had our annual family photo; the one with all the nieces and nephews shoved in a room and some poor, underpaid photographer who wishes he was smarter and became an accountant instead, tries to take a decent pic of all the kiddies for their grandma.
In theory, it’s a nice idea. The reality is, there are now 12 kiddies under the age of 11 (including three toddlers) to try and have sit still, keep their hands to themselves, look at the camera and smile. Last time we had vomit, tears, laughter an
I was late for our first Mommy and Me class and my girls were both in the backseat screaming. I finally reached the YMCA and waited to make a left turn into the tiny parking lot. There was a blue Suburban coming in the opposite direction. I waited for it to pass so I could turn. I waited. I waited. The Suburban was barely moving. I could have gone into the parking lot five times by now. Finally it was about to pass but at the last second, it turned into the parking lot. I threw up my hands and gave the woman driver a scowl. All the spaces in the lot were full but one car was preparing to leave. Even though the Suburban had come in the lot first, I felt this was rightly my spot. Knowing I was committing a cardinal sin, I whipped into the space and left the Suburban to wait for another opening. She wasn't happy.Ten minutes later I found myself sitting cross-legged next to this very woman in, "Circle Time" and having to point to her while singing, "You Are Special." I was too

My friends are generally shocked to discover that I drive the speed limit. Those who know me and work alongside me think of me as a fast-paced multi-tasker whose mind works at supersonic speeds and whose mouth moves even faster. The dichotomy between my personality and driving persona couldn't be more divided than the chasm between the northern rim of the Grand Canyon and its southern edge.Driving hypnotizes me to the point where I fall asleep. I always add one hour to my drive time, because more often than not I need to pull off to the side of the road and take a nap. My drowsiness slows my reflexes, hence my conscious decision to drive the speed limit. You'd think that by keeping to the right side of the road I would be protected from road rage. Are you kidding? Here's the Road Rage Motto: Anyone going faster than you is a maniac; anyone going slower than you is an idiot. www.edmunds.com/reviews/list/top10/110033/article.htmlDriving in the right lane on the I-95 South at 67 m.p.h.
