We’ll be using Adobe Illustrator to create this tutorial. A water ripple effect can easily be achieved using a radial gradient. Besides this, I will be showing you how to create realistic water droplets using the gradient mesh tool.VIEW THIS TUTORIAL
A UK think-tank today issued a report (’Licensed to Hug’) which states that “the dramatic escalation of child protection measures has succeeded in poisoning the relationship between the generations and creating an atmosphere of suspicion that actually increases the risks to children”.

By Julia HanfStress is different for everyone. What is viewed as a productive work environment for one is chaotic negative stress for another. Stressors, or things that are perceived to cause stress, are difficult to categorize. In any case, the result of stress has measurable effects. From tension headaches to serious diseases, stress can bring on a number of complications. It can impact a
~Snooper~Well? Obama's feared "bump" didn't go where the wishful thinkers and those outside of the realm of reality so lusted over. Oh well. So much for this Marxists' favored and over-vaunted spike. FYI, Obama is a Marxist and denying that is indicative of a blind as a bat moonbat. And, seeing that a bat operates via radar, I do believe the moonbat "batdar" has been spiked...all they see is

The playful and elegant Ripple Faucet is a new way to interact with water. Drawing inspiration from the ripples on the water's surface, the faucet creates a strong visual relationship between the user's interaction with it, and with the water flow and temperature. The faucet's visual system is comprised of the ripple interface surface, two channels from which water flows, and a metal ball that sit

A couple of weeks ago, the L.A. Land blog of the L.A. Times asked me to write a guest post in opposition to an article by Daniel Gross in Slate magazine. Gross had labeled the potential tax credit to builders -- which would allow them to extend the tax-loss carryback from two to five years for losses incurred in 2007 and 2008 -- as "peverse, absurd, and unwarranted."But where I took special issue with his thesis was this idea: "Homebuilders should look to the capital markets first, rather than to the government, especially when their financial situation is serious but not critical. The stocks of potential beneficiaries of the expanded carrybacks—big homebuilders like Lennar, Pulte, and KB Home—have plummeted. But they're nowhere near bankrupt."The problem is that Gross ONLY focuses o

The designer of this beautiful and stylish Ripple faucet is Smith Newman. This is a new invention which I am afraid is difficult to take it to the public but still possible. It takes time for a new invention to be accepted-right?If it is available in India, I am sure the manufacturer of this exquisite ripple faucet will have a field day. Yes, we all will welcome and support anything new and stylish.See these two images? The one with red at the water outlet delivers piping hot water and the blue deliver cold water.Ok, how can you control the temperature?There is a metal ball which acts like an electromagnet. You just move the ball on the groove with 'Hot' and 'Cold' labels.The flow of the water is also controlled by the movement of the metal ball.This is terrific and absolutely innovative;

A non academic view of business change & improvementStating the sometimes forgotten obvious:A business is a living entity that embodies many functioning organs. It performs the best and is healthy when all the elements are working together in harmony. The physical components of this living organ includes sales, marketing, IT, logistics, accounting, etc. and its psychology is represented by the core values, cultures, and beliefs. A pain or a dis-functionality in any organ influences the effectiveness of the business entity as a whole – if you are ill mentally or physically you can not be fully productive. An illness maybe addressed by a better diet or some vitamins or a few pills a day for a few weeks (process improvement, overtime, incentives, etc.) or may need more drastic measures s
Alberta's boom is affecting it's neighbouring provinces in many ways. From borrowing their young workforce to increasing their property values. The ripple of the billions of dollars invested in Alberta is obvious. In B.C not only are they catching the run-off of smaller oil companies that can't bear the new Royalties Revision but rich Albertans are buying up water front property like it is going out of style. The other way Saskatchewan has seen property values rise as native Saskatchewans who have made their money in the oil sands return home and bolster up. The province hopes to attract more of its 125,000 youth lost to the boom province and to scope up some oil sand overflow. Our neighbours are doing well but it is still Alberta that everyone is investing in now. The Royalties Revision is said to have cost Alberta $10 Billion in projects but there is still close to $170 Billion in projects that are on the way.
This post was guest blogged by Jamie Harrop, a Web Entrepreneur and expert in a variety of Web authoring areas. He writes, records video blogs and conducts text and video interviews with other entrepreneurs. Do you ever wonder what the Google War Room, the G’Plex that is, is like on a week like this? We all know Google has the ability, the means, and hell, some would even argue the desire, to cause complete chaos throughout the Internet. We ol’ bloggers don’t help much, in that we spread the word of Google’s Games at super-sonic speeds. With that said, I often wonder in a week like this whether G’Gals and G’Guys, the Google employees that is, are laughing at us or screaming at us for uncovering all their mistakes. You see, Google have always been uptight when it comes to their algorithms, and when the word PageRank is mentioned they tend to lock down fast and do so in a swift motion to rival that of NORAD! So when the G’Plex outputs another wave of PageRank Poop, us poor
It’s no secret among pilots that an airline’s claim of a flight cancellation because of a “mechanical problem” can cover everything from a flight attendant with morning sickness to an airplane stuck in Mobile when it’s scheduled to be in Memphis because the captain rear-ended an 18-wheeler on the way to the airport while chatting on his cell phone.

Ripple has got the right idea and I like the hyper local aspect that can be applied to selling spots on their network.Ripple TV Gets Funding, Jack-in-the-Box Venuesby Erik SassRipple TV, A NEW PLACE-BASED video advertising network targeting local advertisers, is rapidly expanding its footprint. Today, the company announced a new round of funding as well as a major new retail partnership with Jack-in-the-Box, the popular fast-food chain. The company is also planning to provide free Wi-Fi access to all venues that install its video displays. The second round of funding, to the tune of $10 million, was led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson and included first-round investor Trinity Ventures. Concurrent with the new funding, John Fisher--co-founder of DFJ--is also joining the Ripple board. The Jack-in-t
One of our guests said the other day, "I don't need to go on an around the world trip, I just book a massage with Ripple!"We had a look at our massage styles and realised she might just be right. From Russian to Hawaiian KaHuna, Chinese Reflexology to Indian Head Massage, there are massage styles here for you that span the globe. The best part about each new style is that you get to experience new, unique ways of being massaged and pampered. And each massage style also comes with its own philosophy and beliefs. For example the philosophy of the Hawaiian Ka Huna is grounded in seven life principles that are as much a part of your massage as the techniques we use.My favourite principle is Aloha, which means to love is to be happy with ...And Chinese reflexology massage (included in every Ripple
The big news yesterday was that the Houston Texans acquired Qb Matt Schaub from the Atlanta Falcons. To get Schaub, the Texans gave up their second rounder in this year's draft, their second rounder in 2008 and they also swapped positions with Atlanta in the first round. This trade has some big implications for various teams come draft time and I'm going to throw around some possibilities on how things might go down from here on out.First off, Houston is investing a lot in Schaub. They're giving up 2 second rounders, dropping 2 slots in the first round, and gave him a 6-year, 48 million dollar contract. That's a lot for a guy who hasn't done much yet in this league. So far in his career, he has started 2 games, lost both and has 6 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Not very impressive. What this also means is that Houston will probably cut or try to trade David Carr. I think that Carr gets too much blame for the struggles of the Texans and I want to see what he can do when he's surr

I love the people behind the blogs and especially those who step up to good leadership. They are like business owners who exhibit charismatic charm and could handle thousands of RSS subscribers if they had the chance. They are the same people who are willing to trade ideas and challenge their potential aggressively every post. These are exactly the peo
One of our favourite days of the year is fast approaching...combine chocolate, cupid, a massage and lots of romance and you have the perfect recipe for a great Valentines Day...A few of you have started planning ahead already. We love the bloke who booked a couples Valentine's massage for his girlfriend way back in October - he certainly got a few admirers amongst the Ripple staff and several "lucky girlfriend" comments. It's not too late to start planning though...there are still a spots available for you for a couples massage on Feb 14th, as well as places on the weekend before and after.Apparently the most expensive Valentine card ever sent was in 1891 to a woman by an Indian Prince in London. It was surrounded by diamonds and set in carved in ivory and cost $500,000. Our Top 5 for Vale

Two demons wait for unsuspecting homeowners, hoping for their chance to gobble up time and money on new home and remodeling projects. The Ripple Effect lurks quietly in the background. Just like the movements on the pond surface for which it's named, The Ripple Effect starts out small and grows, expanding until it engulfs the entire project.Pebble In The PondThe Ripple Effect is the remodeling budget's worst enemy and can wreak havoc on small and large projects alike. A simple example is a window replacement project. At first glance, it's a simple, isolated project. But the interior and exterior trim must be replaced and painted and the exterior siding may have to be reworked, especially if the new window isn't the same size as the old one.And that's just the beginning. Once that window is replaced and the new window trim painted, the rest of the trim in the room looks bad and so the homeowner decides to paint that, too. A pebble's been dropped in the pond, and the ripples h
I saw a funny thing the other day as I drove into work. I came to almost a complete stop on the freeway and wondered what was going on. I moved at a crawl for about a half mile until it started moving again. As I got towards the clearing I did not see an accident or a stalled vehicle, I saw nothing. No reason for the stop. Then I glanced over to the other side of the freeway, there I saw a 4 car pile up. I started thinking, why is it so congested on this side? Then it dawned on me that the cars in front of me slowed down to see what was going on on the other side of the freeway. The Ripple Effect.Several cars slowed down to see, which slowed down others who gawked, which eventually caused the half mile hold up. You see small tiny things can cause huge impacts. Much like dropping a pebble in water, you can see the many ripples it causes. Our lives are no different, making smaller better choices today will lead to bigger things down the road. Instead of reaching for that soda, h
