Right Wing Republicans Continue To Insist That Property Tax Relief Be Put Above Human Needs
If you thought that right-wing, anti-tax Republicans would temper their desire to see the bogus concept of “property tax relief” move forward in light of recent media coverage showing it to be nothing more than a high-dollar tax shift, think again. None other than former State Rep. Talmadge Heflin, now the director for the Center for Fiscal Policy, we see exactly where the Republicans’ priorities lie: “Regardless what the surplus amount winds up being come January, the two iron-clad priorities for those funds are to fund the continuation of the 2006 property tax cut and to preserve the balance in the Rainy Day Fund. . .” No big surprise there. But, one must wonder: how long will Republicans in the Texas Legislature put property tax “relief” that mainly ben

Right Wing Bloggers: Stupid or Evil?
The Village Voice has managed to get lots of links today, primarily from conservative blogs, by providing The Official Village Voice Election-Season Guide to the Right-Wing Blogosphere: A confederacy of dunces. It must be taken somewhat tongue in cheek as the subtitle (A Confederacy of Dunces) certainly dominates the views expressed. Beyond the subtitle, conservative bloggers, [...]

Message to the Far Right Wing lunatic fringe trolls who visit this blog
Earlier today, I posted a picture that I thought would be of interest to the American people. Well, as expected, some anonymous Far Right Wing lunatic fringe tool left a rather nasty comment here on my Blog. I won't get into the specifics as to what was said, as I don't wish to give this feckless coward any more attention than he really deserves. But I will say this, if you are going to leave a message here, saying the the stuff that you did, you are not going to leave it here anonymously. Sorry, this is my space, my blog, my domain, if you are going to criticize me and/or leave abusing comments, you're going to have to either register with Blogger and leave full information or a valid URL or e-mail address. Right Wing Bloggers for Jesus! WOO HOO!
Yeah, I know it's a gay title, but I thought it was funny. The Story:  Blogging While Female (Via Right Wing News (Conservative News and Views))  Every so often in the blogosphere, on the Left and the Right, hostile debates over gender seem to rise up to the surface like a leviathan from the depths. Some male bloggers tend to think women get more links because they're women, some female bloggers think there's some sort of a "good ol’ boys" club that keeps them from getting big, and more than a few people seem to get huffy about the whole debate. However, the fact is that the issue is much more complex than it appears on the surface. The blogging experience ISN'T THE SAME for men and women. There are different advantages, disadvantages, and challenges t

Right Wing Email Spreads False Claim that Obama Refused to Say Pledge of Allegiance
It looks like that time of year before the elections has come when each of the candidates is the target of a wave of unsubstantiated claims. The most curious thing about these rumors is how so many conservatives are gullible enough to believe them and pass them on as truth. The rumors, generally spread by email, sometimes with the help of The National Enquirer, claim that both John Edwards and Hillary Clinton are having affairs with women. As far as I know, Obama has been spared from these attacks but has been the target of many others, such as the claim that he is Muslum or went to a Madrassa. Obama is currently being subjected to an email campaign claiming he refused to say the pledge of allegiance. The Fact Checker at The Washington Post (Hat tip to Think on These Things) debunks this one: The photograph was taken on September 16, 2007, at Senator Tom Harkin’s annual steak fry festivities in Iowa, an important ritual for Democratic presidential hopefuls. Contrary to the e-mai

      Right Wing Rhetoric
I don’t have the time to generate a post of my own– with any substance, anyway– but that doesn’t mean I can’t pass along something fun. It’s important to note somewhere that right-wing rhetoric has gotten more snarly and bloodthirsty over the past few weeks, especially about the rapturous prospect of a really stupid and destructive attack on Iran, and about the need to repress the treasonous, murdering saboteurs (i.e. people like us) who are sapping America’s strength with their vile and cowardly lies, and so forth. This might be as good a place as any to make that observation in plain words — rather than contextually, as with the earlier posts down the page. Sadly, No! » Foto Funnies Pt. 1 1/2

He was funnier, snappier, had more energy, and came across as more genuinely conservative than Mitt or Rudy. However, he does need to stop looking at his notes so often. The Middle Of The Field2) Rudy Giuliani: The man has charisma and comes across well, but he's not a conservative, and he has no good answer for the weak spots in his right wing game. Yes, what he did in New York was great and yes, he's great at bashing Hillary, but he uses those strengths as a dodge anytime his weaknesses on guns, abortion, and immigration are brought up. Rudy got asked if he was a conservative -- and he dodged the question. I think that says a lot.3) John McCain: He started off in a very subdued, almost somnolent manner, but he picked up steam as the night went on and he had the line of the night when he talked about being "tied up" while Hillary and her pals

Right Wing News: The Democratic Underground Poll Of The Day: Bush and Blackwater
You have to love the lunacy of the left. I mean you can't buy entertainment this good. The following poll is a perfect example. It encompasses two things near and dear to the left. Those two things are 1) their hate for George Bush and 2) their hate for our troops. As John Hawkins of RWN explains the left is currently using Blackwater as it's stand in whipping boy because it is too costly for them politically to show their hate for the troops right now. And as insane as this sort of poll and the responses seem it is very typical for DU. ~RJH Right Wing News article link The Democratic Underground Poll Of The Day: Bush & BlackwaterThis poll over at the Democratic Underground is an eye catcher,Poll question: Would Bush order Blackwater mercs to kill Americans to save his *ss from war crimes charges? You got to love this poll. Waxman’s Committee Denies Paranoid Claims From the Right Wing
The right wing typically achieves power, or at present attempts to grasp on to what they have left, by demonizing the opposition and claiming they support positions which they do not. They know that they stand no chance when their views are put up against the actual views of their opponents. We’ve frequently seen the false claims that liberals support socialized medicine, or even socialism in general, and will take away both people’s guns and bibles. Another common meme on the right over the past few months is that liberals oppose free speech and want to bring back the fairness doctrine to shut down right wing talk radio. Of course this is a proposal I’ve seen discussed frequently by the right with minimal interest on the left. Many of the claims from the right are based upon paranoid stories that Congressman Henry Waxman is planning to shut down talk radio with the support of the Democratic majority. Following such a report by The American Spectator, the House Commit

Right Wing News: The Daily Kos Post Of The Day
I have pointed out similar and much worse posts at Democrat sites like DailyKos or Democratic Underground and people just chuckle and say there are extremists everywhere. But look at what MoveOn.org is doing and how the Democrat candidates are rolling over and playing dead for them. The fringe element has become not just mainstream for the Democrat party but the main constituency group. Enough so that they all cancelled attending the debate sponsored in part by Fox News because MoveOn.org demanded it. I have seen this exact sort of post countless times by lib moonbats. They are convinced that Bush/Cheney/TheRove will cancel elections and declare martial law. Except they call it ‘marshall law’. You would think as smart as they are (at least that’s what they say about themselves) they would know how to spell ‘martial law’. Anyway, this is a good read. Moreover, it is perfectly typical of the left as John Hawkins says below. ~RJH Right Wing News article link  The Daily Kos Post Of T

Media Breaks Pattern and Reports Obama Was Right Instead of Right Wing Smears
Conservatives remain consistent in their strategy of how to handle being consistently wrong. When they have no counter arguments to what a Democratic politician has actually said they make up something different to attack. We saw that with the attacks on John Kerry when they twisted the words “global test” and when they claimed his joke about George Bush getting stuck in Iraq was about the troops. Today they tried the same type of attack once again on Barack Obama. Usually when the right wing launches their smears, the news media will quote the conservative smear, regardless of whether it has any validity, and try to pass this off as objectivity. This time, instead of repeating the right wing smears as news, somebody at AP actually did her job and acted like a real journalist. Earlier today Barack Obama said: We’ve got to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops so that we’re not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is

      Most Outrageous Right Wing Comments
Most Outrageous Right Wing CommentsThe offensive, the senseless, the bigoted, the inaccurate: a year in right-wing nuttery. How extreme were conservative commentators in their remarks this year? How about calls to nuke the Middle East and an allegation that a "gay … mafia" used the congressional page program as its own "personal preserve." Right-wing rhetoric documented by Media Matters for America included the nonsensical (including Rush Limbaugh's claim that America's "obesity crisis" is caused by, among other things, our failure to "teach [the poor] how to butcher a -- slaughter a cow to get the butter, we gave them the butter"), the offensive (such as right-wing pundit Debbie Schlussel's question about "Barack Hussein Obama": Is he "a man we want as president when we are fighting the war of our lives against Islam? Where will his loyalties be?"), and the simply bizarre (such as William A. Donohue's claim that some Hollywood stars would "sodomize their own mother in a movie").

This list is based on a combination of conservatism, likability, and electability. Right Wing News: Ann Coulter's Juvenile Comment At CPAC
Right Wing News article linkAnn Coulter's Juvenile Comment At CPACFrom Ann Coulter today at CPAC,"I'd say something about John Edwards, but if you use the word 'f*ggot', you have to go to rehab."Note how carefully that sentence is crafted. She cleverly alluded to how ridiculous it was for Isaiah Washington to go to rehab because he used an offensive word and, if you'll notice, she doesn't explicitly call John Edwards a f*ggot. What does that mean?It means that in all likelihood, before Coulter ever went to CPAC, she came up with that line and planned to deliberately spring it this week-end. Why? Because she knew it was a high profile event attended by the presidential candidates and Dick Cheney, which guaranteed that her offensive remark would garner massive publicity for her -- which it did."Democratic Party boss Howard Dean demanded that Republican presidential candidates denounce conservative columnist Ann Coulter..."For someone like Ann Coulter, having How
