Another entry in the ever-expanding category of how-did-I-miss-that-the-first-time items, is last year's insanely awesome Rides The Subway EP from NYC dance-punk fusionists Professor Murder. The band starts off strong even before the first note by taking their name from a fictitious character from the HBO sketch comedy series "Mr.. Show." Professor Murder then one up themselves by dishing out five songs of scurrying dance-punk that is so so good but over way too soon. I've probably listened to Rides The Subway at least a dozen times this week alone. There is just so many different ideas, tones, and musical textures packed into this brief EP it is astounding. While running errands on Friday morning with on eof my clients, the “buzzing” that Rover (which is what Z named my Ford Bronco) was joined by a clanking noise. It just got worse when I went to pick Z up that afternoon and my most mechanically knowledgeable friend couldn’t really diagnose the problem.  Chromy, gentle, rides nice-about 30 rides on her, taken to fair by my 15 yr old daughter. Tiger Leo on her papers, pasture exposed to our 16.1 h, AQHA/FQHA chestnut stallion Pines Scooter Whiz. This mare is great to handle and be around. Has not seen much-needs to get out more, but is willing. Yesterday my 15 yr old daughter took her for a 12 mile ride over bridges, past cattle, in town (next to the highway). She did great, her walk/trot/lope is coming along nice.  Rex is a growing three year old that has maturity beyond his years. He is a really quiet horse that is very easy to work with. He was bred, raised and trained on our farm and came from our black and white registered paint stallion and out of a solid black registered quarter horse mare. He would excel in the english disapline but could be finished anyway with his age and willingness to learn. He loves to be with people and has been raised with his full brother Lex (#46253) on our farm as well. The two make a dynamic driving pair and riding pair. We use them to pull large wagons for family days and just for a relaxing drive around our beautiful Lancaster county. They can be ridden alone or with others. You would be amazed to see them as you would think that they were much older. They have a lot of time under the saddle and will continue with their training.
