"This band is all about its fans and its music and Scott Weiland isn't 100 percent committed to either," said Slash, one of four founding band members, in a statement Tuesday. "Among other things, his increasingly erratic on-stage behavior and personal problems have forced us to move on." Weiland's problems include a recent stint in rehab, and last month's charge of driving under the influence of drugs after an arrest in Los Angeles in November.

It reminds me the good old days of Gun’s and Roses. Damn, Scott Weiland sounds also good! They say, Duff McKagan asked Scott at gym to join Velvet Revolver. Scott had just broken up with Stone Temple Pilots and had been arrested on his birthday after a traffic collision. I’m glad that Scott joined Velvet Revolver. His voice definately fits with Revolver’s sound.

Three years after their successful debut album 'Contraband', Velver Revolver are back with a follow-up titled as Libertad. This time around the band has different production team consisting of Brendan O'Brien (mixing) and Bob Ludwig (mastering). Hence this record sounds better than their debut, but unfortunately some of the characteristics of the debut are missing... sure the music still is founded on vigorous riffs, pounding drums, and expressive choruses but some of the inventiveness and unexpectedness of the debut is missing. Libertad is the title of Velvet Revolver's second album. The album was released in the US on July 3, 2007. Velvet Revolver, leader of the much-welcomed supergroups invasion, has settled on a July 3 release of Libertad, its second RCA album. Expect to hear the first single “She Builds Quick Machines” sometime in mid-May, one of four new tunes the band has been playing in recent shows in South America. Fans still love to hear songs from the members’ previous bands, but they hear them less now that Velvet has many originals to rip out.

Velvet Revolver's Libertad will be in stores on July 3rd. The album was originally scheduled for release on May 29th. It was then pushed back to June 5th, but eventually that date was scrapped as well.
