      The Weakerthans - Reunion Tour
No new computer yet, but I'm trying to give y'all at least a little something. Now, I've ventured into Canada before, but I've never been to Winnipeg, Manitoba. From what I know of geography and John K. Samson's lyrics, I imagine it to be a broke-down but beautiful place. Samson is the singer/songwriter behind the critically acclaimed Canadian indie rock band The Weakerthans, whose brilliant new album Reunion Tour is out now. Like other releases from The Weakerthans, Reunion Tour wraps punk, folk, and country around captivating stories told with highly literate and poetic lyrics that (when combined with Samson's earnest no-frills vocal delivery) feel more real than just about anything else I've heard in awhile. The music is urgent but reflective and sounds loose; like four guys just playing together in a wood paneled living room. Reunion Tour sounds like the golden sun peeking out from behind a darkly clouded sky for a moment. It sounds like standing on the doorstep of grea

Talks of Led Zeppelin Reunion Tour
Okay, so I almost cried when I caught this story on Music-News.com. It looks like a Led Zeppelin reunion world tour might be in the planning stages. I know, right?! Hang on to your newly wet knickers, though, because the tour is still in its fetal stages and still might collapse before execution.

      The Weakerthans - Reunion Tour
This Canadian quartet has always excelled at mixing pop hooks with slice-of-life lyrics that earn comparisons to short story masters like Grace Paley and Raymond Carver. The curiously titled Reunion Tour (four years between albums but they never disbanded) ups the lyrical ante ever more with contagious tunes like "The Last Last One," "Hymn of the Medical Oddity," and "Relative Surplus Value." Not to mention "Tournament of Hearts," easily the best song ever written about the Olympic sport of curling. Musically, if you could imagine the Mountain Goats crossed with Death Cab--or even an older, slower, rocking-er Decembrists more in love with life itself than the dictionary--you'd not be too off the mark. Recorded over the course of a winter week and a half in a Manitoba factory during its off hours, the album sounds surprisingly warm, lush, and vigorous. Give these songs time and they'll flower in your head, sprouting movies based on lines like "where the radio resounds in Doppler traff

Gay Mormon on this season of “Survivor” calls the Spice Girls reunion tour “the most significant historical event of the past 100 years.”
A gay mormon who loves coffee, how wacky! The cast of the new “Survivor: China” includes Todd Herzog, a self-described openly gay Mormon from Pleasant Grove who, according to his profile on CBS’s Web site, believes he will succeed on the show because “he’s willing to gather wood and sh-t.” The 22-year-old former UVSC student also lists “drinking coffee” as a hobby, which, along with the “openly gay” thing, makes me wonder how Mormon he really is. … Herzog isn’t the first openly gay LDS castaway on “Survivor.” In 2005, Salt Lake City-born Rafe Judkins made it to the final three of that season’s “Survivor: Guatemala.” Judkins approached the show with sincerity and a positive attitude, traits he attributed in part to his Mormon faith. Herzog claims to have a similarly enthusiastic outlook, although it’s not clear whether that stems from his religion or his excitement over the upc

      Led Zeppelin / Reunion tour?
Rumours are flying around about a possible Led Zeppelin reunion at the end of this year. It’s widely reported that there have been press adverts in recent days offering ticket and hotel packages for fans to see the band at the O2, formerly the Millenium Dome. Whilst the dates haven’t been officially announced, promoter Harvey Goldsmith hasn’t denied it either. It’s widely believed that the band will play the capital on Friday 16th November, just four days after their greatest hits album Mothership is launched. It’s also expected that the band will play dates in New York, and on the west coast of the USA. The line-up will be most likely Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones with Bonham’s son Jason expected to be announced as the drummer for the show. As ever, I guess the news is “watch this space”. Photo is taken from dunechaser’s flickr stream under the creative commons license. Tags: Gig, tour, show, gigs, shows, live, music

      The Weakerthans - Reunion Tour
Reunion Tour is another superb tome from indie rock's most singular narrators, the Weakerthans. The new album was recorded after-hours above a closed factory in the cold Canadian spring, weaving the frontier loneliness of the environment into rich lyrical yarns four years in the making. Songs such as "Sun in an Empty Room" and "Civil Twilight" tell of individual journeys with a melancholic empathy that Paste magazine has described as "songs of brutal beauty, little rock n roll vignettes that perfectly capture the malaise of the peculiar, disorienting times in which we live."

Legendary Eddie and DLR, it's Official Folks, the 2007 Van Halen Reunion Tour is On
UPDATED: The Tour will take place in October. Rolling Stone Magazine announced yesterday that the 2007 Van Halen Reunion Tour is game again. Blessed be thy VH. And the line-up is: DLR Eddie Alex Van Halen - drums Wolfgang Van Halen - bass If you remember back in early 2006, David Lee Roth started pushing the Van Halen Reunion Tour idea to the extreme. The gang's been talking about the reunion concerts for a while now, but the tour was held off for a number of reasons. The most recent stall had to do with Eddie checking into alcohol rehab back in March of 2007. So when will the actual Van Halen Reunion Tour take place? Rolling Stone Magazine only said there would be a tour, and I guess it means it will be before the year's up. Maybe if you sell your children to a foreign slave market in time, you can afford tickets. For updates on the status of the reunion (instead of searching forever in Google), you might want to bookmark Rolling Stone Van Halen Tour Updates. read more

The Spice Girls Are Back (Reunion Tour)
The Spice Girls, aka Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) and Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), are reuniting after seven years for a worldwide comeback tour. I just wish that they had a new song just for the tour so that we something refreshing to show to the people after soo many years. The first stop on their tour? Los Angeles on December 1st. They all looked seem excited about the tour and comfortable with each other again. They’re all now in their early 30’s, and between all of them have almost 7 children (Emma Bunton is pregnant and due any time). There were no hard feelings after Geri Halliwell left the group back in 1998, with Posh adding that they have forgiven her. Posh said that her main reason for doing the reunion tour was so that her kids Brooklyn and Romeo could see what their mummy used to do. Spice Girls are a real ICON to kids back in the old days with their different characters. They ar
