Resurrection is commonly defined as becoming alive again, the best example being Christ’s return from death. The promise is that death is not the end; that we can also survive death. This must be, as energy cannot be created nor destroyed, only change forms. Thus awareness/energy as spirit or soul changes form from incarnated as matter (life) to pure spirit. Resurrection implies that this individual spirit will take on a body and become “alive” again (reincarnated?). However, being resurrected as an individual means being separate from not-I. So if the goal is to become not-I (true heaven), then being resurrected as an "I" would miss the mark.

The long awaited updated to Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection for the Playstation Network is now available for download for $9.99. Though most players will immediately download it for its inclusion of online play (which makes the download worth the price for that alone), the game also now will feature the much needed Practice mode and a Survival mode. I probably will download it this weekend to check it out. Hopefully the series' presence on the PSN will increase the demand stateside for the Tekken 6 cabinets once they become available.

I’ve previously spoken about my uncertainty as to whether it is worth me purchasing a PSP. With the upcoming redesign and a slew of fresh quality titles on the way it is almost looking like a certified purchase. One of the key titles that has persuaded my decision is Jeanne d’Arc. Jeanne d’Arc is a new Strategy/RPG developed by Level 5. These guys were also responsible for other great games like Rogue Galaxy and Dark Cloud. The game is based on the Joan of Arc story but it has a number of changes the the formula. The most notable aspect is the anime inspired graphics; the game features beautiful cell shaded graphics and anime cut scenes. The main hook for me is the deep, engrossing, RPG/Stratergy gameplay which isn’t unlike Final Fantasy Tactics(probably my favourite strategy title). Looks simply bananas. the “Dark Resurrection” trailer puts empasis on a few things, first is online competitiion, and the ability to rank yourself in the world which makes for the ultimate ego trip. Also included are new stages,based off the original Tekken 5 stages, but with climate and time effects as well as new background objects, totalling 19 stages. The PS3 version features full 1080p visuals and the playable debut of boss character Jinpachi. The various modes found in the arcade game, including arcade battle, ghost battle and gallery have been included and updated for the PS3 version. Looks like Tekken will FINALLY be taking the fight online, but maybe not in the way we had expected. Sony has announced that an update is coming that will add online-play to their Playstation Store version of Tekken 3: Dark Resurrection. The new online mode allows fighters to participate in ranked and nonranked matches, with matchmaking options including an opti match, quick match, custom match, and friend match. Players can also view their opponents’ stats and voice-chat with one another while observing fights that are going on in a viewing mode (Just like the arcade!). A news ticker will scroll on the screen with regular updates on the weekly, monthly, and overall rank leaders. And the update will not all be online goodness. You’ll also be getting two new single-player modes.
