Britney Spears was definitely a winner today in court where she was granted three days of supervised visitation a week and time with the kids Mother’s Day.
In a press conference, K-Fed’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan stated that her time with the boys will be “more than it has been.”
He continued,
The court made orders today, they [...]

Earth Day which was on 22nd April has just gone by. I have not stuck to the New Year Resolutions that I made, so I thought I would make some Earth Day resolutions which would be good for me as well as the Earth. Even a few changes you make in your day to day [...]
Many of us have forgotten our New Years Resolutions while some of us are still maintaining our lofty goals! Personally I am working on maintaining and improving my health overall for 2008 and beyond. Of course prostate health is vitally important to me and so is keeping a high level of cardio fitness through bicycle racing. You don't need to take things to extremes like I do but you can do a few things daily to help you. Eat healthy everyday - sounds hard to do but it can be maintained if you make it a habit.Exercise 3 times a week.Take a 15 minute walk at lunch time or after dinner. The www is a valuable resource for finding recipes and ways to stay fit even as we age. A few quick searches for keywords like healthy recipes or fitness can yield many helpful websites. Take a look around an
Those of you who have been with this blog for a while know that Mondays are traditionally the time for the so called Editorial and it is basically when I tell you what to expect during the week. So here it is: The Simpsons: Minutes to meltdown- a mobile game loosely based on my favorite TV series. God of war: Betrayal- the one and only reincarnation of Kratos on the mobile platform. Opera mini- THE Internet browser for your mobile phone. I also have a surprise review reserved for the end of the week . Or not. Now that we cleared this out I want to say a few words concerning games and screen resolution on a mobile phone. I've often read on mobile forums complaints like "How can you call this game beautiful- on my phone it looks nothing like the pictures" or "Why I don't have (
Every year, as January come around, most of us avail of the opportunity to review the year that has passed and make a list of resolutions to better ourselves in the one to come. While many of these centre on giving up cigarettes or joining a gym, it is equally an ideal time to review your investment strategies, see how they performed and make some new year investment resolutions. Here are six simple resolutions to help review the investing mistakes you may have made over the last year, and move forward in 2008. 1. Keep a rational, long-term approach. The new year provides a perfect time to look back on the performance of your portfolio and ensure that it has been adequate and remains aligned with your long-term goals. While it is an ideal time to reassess your goals, the first step in real
If your career is losing direction, it's time to make not only personal resolutions, but some professional ones too!Resolutions are nothing but setting goals for your self, which is anyway the secret to success. But keep in mind not to set unachievable steep goals that are not within reach. Set short-term goals and go for them. On the professional front you could look into some of these resolutions or maybe go for all of them!Revise your skills. Join workshops to brush up your knowledge and also learn the latest. Also pick up some foreign language course. It will give you an additional qualification. Or do some specialization course to update your skills..Clear up junk from your book shelf and study. Don't forget your mail box! This will add clarity and you will be able to prioritize. Upd
Divorce brings new fears, feelings and frets. As the new year approaches, don’t let it pass you by. New Year’s resolutions are famous this time of year, so why not focus on making the most of this time of year and choose a worthwhile resolution.

Now that the onslaught of holiday gift-giving idea commercials have ceased — have you noticed all of the commercials for various diet programs — capitalizing on our need to declare our “diet resolutions”? The whole idea of diet resolutions “weighed on me” (and not merely about all of the carefree cookie consumption of December, either). [...]
I've decided that my lifestyle should be much healthier. So I'm going to run every day, just as soon as I've completed the school run. That's to say, Tuesday is going to be difficult. Because then Ot has his speech therapy. And now that I think about it, Wednesday is going to be a problem too, because Ot en Piet have the day off. Thursday is difficult too, because Maartje has a late start. Friday I just háve to finish my weekly column. Saturday is booked solid with grocery shopping and other mondain things. And on Sunday the good Lord wants everyone to rest. But Monday, is going to work! Definitely.Or not.
Many people have built their fortune by just blogging (Visit this lens to know such millionaire bloggers), but let me tell you thousands of people out there who have failed to get what they had started to blogging for. Nothing in this world is easy to do, yet everything is easy if done in proper and proven way. Obviously you argue that every blog or website you land on, claims to be best to make money by blogging. Whom should we listen to? whom should we trust on? What guarantee is there that we would make more money than it has taken to make?Well, this post will help you if you really think so. And if you are not thinking so then why are you not thinking??Here I have enlisted 11 resolutions that you have to resolve before starting your own profitable blog. Give a thought to it if you have
With today marking the start of New York's infamous Fashion Week, we'll be bombarded with many new trend and style choices. Every year, I fall victim to the trendiest pieces only to find them at the bottom of my hamper six months later. However, this year I wanted to start Fashion Week off with a clean slate. Don't get ME wrong, I'll still drool over the newest "IT bag" and secretly wish I was sitting front row in the tents, but instead I'll treat Fashion Week like an "observers' sport". I stylishly resolve to watch, wait and only buy those trend items that truly speak to ME.If I was this conflicted, I figured I couldn't be alone. I polled various fashion/beauty bloggers over the net to get their Style Resolutions for 2008. Some attacked this task with great precision while others chose po
Every New Year many of us resolve to make changes in our lives, to set new and important goals. We’re inspired by that annual turn of the calendar to wipe the slate clean and to write new scenarios for our lives. It’s a logical time for new beginnings, new hopes, and new directions in our [...]
Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desired can be won. It exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours...Ayn RandAre you ready to create your own life this year?Studies have shown that as many as 95 percent of people give up on their New Year’s resolutions in less than three weeks! This year I never made any resolutions. It came to the right time and I just didn’t know what to say. Usually they seem so… predictable. I must lose three pounds, I will exercise regularly, I will be more considerate of those around me, I will dedicate myself to my career. And how many people stick to them?I once rejected a boy for the sole reason that he would never go anywhere. He loved his “home comforts,” his job which kept him as close to the nest as possible, I just couldn’t be with someone who never wanted to do anything. A little while earlier, that sweet but hopeless boy not even an issue, I made a resolution.“[I will] Fall in love. Not just lust or like. Actual love. Somehow I think this one may take longer than a year to be fulfilled.”It took me five or six m
Special dates are curious things. They certainly do act as psychological posts in the ground - arbitrary but nonetheless real. So there is nothing special about making resolutions on 1st January (as opposed to any other date) and yet there is something special. Two of my resolutions were to improve my meditation practice, and to write another book. The second resolution I've made 3 or 4 years past now, so it hard to take myself seriously. However my meditation has drifted along without any real effort to deepen it for a long time now. When I started meditating I really thought it was the doorway to another world. Many people seem to find it to be such. From time to time I've also found that. But most of the time it is just plain hard work which does not get any easier or show any res
Artwork by ~MarendigellSomehow I find it easier to achieve the gruelling KPIs of my work, then my yearly personal resolutions. It's as though I have taken myself for granted.Fortunately for me, I am quite a goal-oriented person. Once I've set my mind on something, I will work towards gettting there. Maybe for personal goals, it will take me a while - but yeh, I will get there. :)And here are my resolutions for 2008. Check back again with me at the end of the year - and we will do an audit of how far I would have come.1. Exercise regularly.I have been pretty sickly last year - and have been told by my numerous concerned friends that maybe I should get out into the sun more and move my lazy ass. Exercise helps improve blood circulation and sleep, boosts the immune system, and of course, kee
So that’s it. Another year over. And what have you done? If you’re reading (or, indeed, writing) this, the chances are you’ll have spent most of it arguing with strangers on the internet about games you haven’t played yet. Just like last year, and the year before that, and the year before that. So in [...]

This is the first entry I post this year! It was originally written on January 9. (You'll understand why it wasn't published until 1/17 at the end of this entry). I hope all of you enjoyed your holidays and are sticking to your New Year's Resolutions. The past year has been full of mishaps and unexpected expenses for me and the kids. Due to my incredibly full schedule, I'm always faced with
The majority of us made New Year's Resolutions, but most of us will fall short in keeping them."Good resolutions are a pleasant crop to sow," a wise man has declared. "The seeds spring up so readily, and the blossoms open so soon with such a brave show. But when the time for flowers has passed, what as to the fruit?"It's also been said, "He that resolves upon any great and good end has, by that very resolution, scaled the chief barrier to it. He will find such resolution...like the star to the wise men of old, ever guiding him nearer and nearer to perfection."Career Advice: No doubt about it, we'll be better off in 2008--emotionally and materially--if we make resolutions and achieve them. Today Is The Day To StartThere are 10 actions you can take to turn your resolutions into achievements
Perhaps a bit late, and perhaps more for my own benefit than anyone else, this is what I want to achieve this year and I'm going to push hard for it!1. A gold medal for me (and my club of course!) in competition. Shameful, but Silver has always been the best I've managed. Watch out if you're in my weight category and keep your guard up!2. Up my training to 3 times a week as many weeks as I can so that I have a chance of...3. Moving up to Red Belt. This is going to be tough, but if it wasn't, it wouldn't be worth doing. Red tag needs attaining first of course, so time to get Taegeuk Yuk Jang "right".Happy new yearAndy
I love being tagged and now I have been by Leena of ConceptisAddict. This meme is a list of folks who decided to share their New Year’s Resolutions for 2008. I decided to jump on this link-love-train as I do have at least one important resolution to confess and it has a lot to do with Leena who tagged me in the first place! First, the meme:

It’s that wonderful time of the year when people around the world make their New Year’s resolutions – things they’ll do differently, bad habits they’ll quit, good habits they’ll start, and so on. Here are some New Year’s resolutions related to unified communications that I would like to see in the coming year.

Well Happy New Year to all of you. I have been a little busy holidaying the past couple of weeks. On New Years, I was contemplating the conventional "Happy New Year to all my readers" but stayed away because I wanted to start this year by doing something different (Not wishing my readers seemed logical :)).
I couldn't ultimately think of anything different because I had a hard time waking up
2008 Resolutions:1. My muffin top has recently reached bread basket proportion, so much like the rest of our obese nation, I’m heading into the glorious world of dieting. Although, I’ll refer to it as a lifestyle change, because uh, well, simply using the word diet makes me want to gorge on snicker covered ice cream cake.2. Put forth effort in my classes ALL semester long. I tend to make great strides either in the first 2 weeks or the last 2 weeks of my classes. Maybe by spreading out my need for a high grade throughout the whole semester I’ll be less stressed, resulting in more high – quality (read low quality) blogs.3. Start putting up laundry instead of throwing it in a basket on our living room floor. I hate putting away clothes but I also hate having to searc

I made myself a promise today that I'm going to start writing again daily. Take it for what it is. Now that I've moved half way across the world from the east coast things might be a little different than they were before, but it's better than nothing right? Of course it is.I thought I'd start off easy and tell you what I've been reading lately and the books I'd suggest picking up.An Inconvenient Book: Real Solutions to the World's Biggest Problems by Glenn Beck - This book contains chapters of many of the common problems that conservatives care deeply about countered with Glenn's "thinker" solutions. The book is not only common sense thought provoking, but a very funny read as well.Invasion of the Party Snatchers by Victor Gold - If you are a Goldwater / Reagan conservative then you w

Although losing weight and quiting smoking are among the top New Year's resolutions, the easiest, and perhaps best resolution should be to save money. What makes this resolution so easy? The fact that there are hundreds of ways we waste money every day. As our specialty is credit cards, we're dedicating our first post of the new year to simple ways to save hundreds of dollars with balance transfer credit cards. Firstly, if you carry a balance on your credit card, you probably waste about $140 for every $1000 you carry on your credit card. With a 0% balance transfer, then, you can save $520 by transferring a balance of $3000. Not too bad for something you can accomplish online in five minutes. You can compare current 0% APR balance transfer credit cards in the card comparison section
Happy New Year World!I'm sure, like myself, many of you are thinking about ways to make the New Year much healthier and better than the last one. Maybe add some purpose to your life? Just kidding. So, I have put together a few suggestions that can be simple to implement yet meaningful to your health and to the planet! ( We had thunderstorms on New Years Day in New York, uh hello, not normal weather! Is this getting your attention?)1. Go Organic. First of all, Americans are the fattest people on the planet because we are the richest. In reality, we don't need to buy or eat much of what we bring home, but we do so because its socially more acceptable than a nice drug or alcohol addiction! How about buying less and buying quality, such as organic? Start with staples like milk, eggs, tomato s
I've been tagged by Neil after he created his own little meme. Neil wants to know what my New Year's Resolutions are. Normally I don't make resolutions, but this year I have.I must first apologise to others that have tagged me where I haven't (yet) responded, but this one needs doing now if it's to be done at all. So, without further ado, here are my five:Fix the lights - we have two sets of lights in our living room at home and one of them has been broken for, literally, years. It's time to get them sorted out.Fix the boiler - our boiler currently has a problem and stops working when it gets hot. Not a good thing for a boiler. 'Rebooting' it seems to fix it for a time, but I resolve not to let this turn into another broken lights situation.Get a bit fitter - ah look ... my third resolutio

Of all the New Years resolutions that lose steam after a few weeks, finding treatment for chemical dependency should definitely not be one of them. Happy New Year everyone and welcome to 2008. Most of the world were out partying last night to bring in the New Year and with that has probably brought a lot of tired people this morning, as I write this blog it is 10am on the 1st of January and I have already been up for four hours. With much of the day wasted for many recovering from the night before it is important that we don’t let this become the norm or else before you know it we will be celebrating 2009 and you will again look back on another year which promised so much but delivered so little. I finished my first year of blogging just getting used to the idea and finding out there’s more to blogging about photography than loving it.

So my main resolution is to blog more regularly.

It's that time of the year again when people often bug you with the same old and silly question .. "What are your new year's resolution??". And as always, I seem to go in a never-ending thought process as to what it is that I really resolve to do this coming new year. It seems I get stuck in an infinite loop. I happened to press CTRL+C this time around. And I have come up with a list of things that I need to do this year. Ummm..my resolutions.."Slog more and Blog much more"—this one's actually inspired by Gaurav Bhatnagar's original "Blog less, Slog more" motto.Learn as much as possible about SEO/SEM, and the internet advertising industry. Its that time of year when everyones down to making resolutions for the new year and plan not to stick to them by the first week of the next year. But Resolutions do need to be made, and if you by any rare chance end up sticking to them you might just come out a winner. I am here jotting down some of my "New Year Financial Resolutions" and just like everyone else i vow to see them through next
Time flies. Another year is just about to bite the dust, and a new one is almost upon us.

I’m keeping it simple this year:
1. Proofreading my posts. Since I have been medicated for the past two weeks I have noticed more typos in my articles. Obviously that has to change.
2. Try to take Sundays off. I see from my stat counter that people read this blog from work or on weekday afternoons. There is [...]
I love goals. I must admit I have been a bit slack in my goal setting this year. New Years Resolutions are terrific, because it is a time to start fresh. To set new goals.
Each New Year's Eve we look forward to a new year. A new year of possibilities. I would like to think I evolve each year, and become a better person. I would like to think I become more financially stable, more
The dawn of a new year is a time when we make new resolutions and have new dreams for the coming year. Often the resolutions are as easily broken as they were made.My resolutions for the year that is going to ring in:· Working hard towards making my blog a success· Earning signed cheques from my blog· Reading more and more about English literature to enrich my blogApart from the above mentioned blogging goals, I will strive to· Acquire more knowledge· Write more articles· Get a good score in my examsHave I not been too selfish? That is what the problem is with us humans. We only think about ourselves. We are so engrossed with the material things of life that life passes by us and we never notice; as W. H. Davies had rightly remarked: “we have no time to stand and stare”. Wordswor
My human will never let me eat her pet hamster, and I am at peace with that.

As we look to the new year, once again we find ourselves evaluating the past (did I really need to eat that second helping?), counting our blessings (at least my good jeans still fit!) and making plans for the future (back to the gym 5 days a week!). It's easy to be consumed by the everyday mayhem of our lives, but it can be very rewarding to take sometime to evaluate the good, the bad and the just so-so. I read an interesting article today that looked at how shoppers are starting to really pay attention to "green" issues. 40% of the consumers polled said that they check the tags of items to see where they are made before purchasing. 88% of those polled said they were "very concerned about the environment". It looks like we're

The Ney Year is a time when people think about making themselves better, and why not? I've got loads of New Year resolutions on this go this time.
Here's one that we'll all be interested in, being healthier. And I don't just mean eating less.
This year I promise myself I'll have better skin. Afterall, who cares how good your muscles and lack of fat are, if you have skin like a handbag.
Have a look at R.G. Skin Revitalizer. It nourishes the skin from the inside out. That makes more sense than putting things on the outside of the skin and hoping that will help. The outside of the skin...

Hate crowded workout days. Today everybody apparently descended on the cycling class. Thought I would get up and hit the 8:30 class. I usually get there 15 minutes early and start my ride so I’ll get in a full hour. So I get to the Y early. Went to get my badge scanned and asked for spin class pass. I was told the class was already full. Dammit!
OK, fine. There is a spin cycle on the exercise floor so I tool over and get mounted up. I don’t mind because I know what I need to do to get the exercise I need. Plus it gives me the added benefit of listening to my own music instead of the crap the teacher uses. So I no longer spin my first pedal when the class teacher comes down and says she needs the bike for class. Is that OK? “No it’s not” as I’m getting off the cycle, gathering my stuff and walking away. At this point I’m pissed and used too much energy being mad that I decided to just go back home. I didn’t feel like riding an exercise bik

I created this blog earlier this year with no prior knowledge, never even expecting it to get as far as it already has - and Super Blogging is still growing, and I am still learning! Things weren’t easy in the beginning, but quitters never win and winners never quit.
I also never really set any true goals for what I’d like to accomplish with this blog, but with 2008 ahead that is going to change. I think goals are very important in helping you reach for and work for what you want to do, as long as you make them realistic and define them clearly.
This year I have learned a lot, from starting this blog on a free Blogger.com domain service up until this very minute where Super Blogging is a self-hosted Wordpress site (thanks to the help of an extremely kind person) - and like I said above, I am still learning! I have accomplished dozens of things with this blog, but there are tons of other resolutions I’d like to make and live up to.

Purging your closet will likely give you a lift you are no longer saddled with clothes you never wear
Welcome to the First Edition of the Carnival of Financial Goals. This edition is focused primarily on 2008 Financial Resolutions, but includes other financial goals as well. There are 55 great goals and goal setting tips in the inaugural edition.
I believe each of these goals is a strong personal goal, but I highlighted 5 as Editor’s Choices. These goals struck me as being well thought out, had a very good plan of action, and are something the most people can learn from and apply to their own situation. The Editor’s Choice selections are filed under their respective category, but the blog name is bolded in red. (more…)

By: Laura WatkinsSimply put: holidays are a time of indulgence. We eat more food, buy more stuff, see more people. It's easy to get caught up in the snowflakes and tinsel and make somewhat unrealistic New Year's resolutions only to become so frustrated that we put away our resolutions along with our fruitcakes and mistletoe and only bring them back out when the next New Year rolls around. The "holiday spirit" is an elusive beast, spreading goodwill and festivities for only a short while. Once he flees, we're often left only with the guilt of overindulgence, too much eggnog, and a lofty plan to really change for the better this year. But how do you make it from Point A (the current reality of a somewhat post-jolly state) to Point B (the next New Year with last year's resolutions neatly checked off one by one)?Think of your resolutions as a year-long to do list. Buy a calendar and write reminders and motivations for each of your tasks. You don't have to tackle them all at once, but yo
I gave up on New Year's Resolutions many, many years ago. Instead, I do new month resolutions. I guess you could say that I have so many things to improve upon, that setting goals once a year is not enough! Actually, the thing I like best about monthly resolutions, is you can work on little things, and if you can make the change for 30 days or so, it pretty much becomes habit. And if I don't succeed in making the change, will I can try again in approximately 4.5 weeks.Last month, I decided to eat better and focused on adding fresh fruit and vegetables to my diet each and every day. I'm proud to tell you that I probably had the best feed compost pile in Monroe County. In other words, I'm going to try that one again. This month I'm going to work on the messy desk syndrome! (yes, that's 3 phones on my desk and there are moments when I'm on all three!) Hopefully, I will be much more successful! Enjoy our beautiful fall weather!
SmallScreenX is a Cocoa version of the “Small Screen” utility for the old Mac OS. It simulates smaller screen resolutions, which can be particularly helpful for web designers. This overview gives you a run down on its main features.
First things first, download SmallScreenX. The installation is very straight forward, and once it’s installed, launch it from your Applications folder.
Use the ‘Untitled’ area of SmallScreenX to to move it around (I’ve found it easiest that way). Click and hold in that section, then drag your mouse around to move the box.
The Options button will bring up the Size and Appearance settings.
From here you can set the width and height of the window. You can also change the border color, width and add a shadow.
Clicking the Lock button will toggle SmallScreenX to prevent unwanted moving or resizing.
Right-click (control-click) the Control-mode button and a list of running applications will
1. Focus on positive self-talk. Congratulate yourself every time you take a step towards your resolution goal. Be your own best cheerleader.2. Avoid berating yourself if you should fall back or break a resolution. Just brush yourself off and start over again. 3. Stick to your resolution by considering it a promise to yourself, not a test of your willpower.4. Avoid situations that put you in temptation's path, meaning if you're on a diet, don't go to the ice cream parlor.5. Keep a sticky note in a prominent place so that you see it every day, reminding yourself of your resolutions. (i.e., on your bathroom mirror, next to your bed, on the visor of your car, on the refrigerator)6. Be realistic. Make sure your plan is a realistic one that can fit into your lifestyle. Will you really have the energy to go out for that evening exercise class? Make changes as easy and convenient as possible
*** Check out an earlier post of Emma-isms for today, below***Kelly over at PTT has a wonderful idea- focus on goals for your family throughout the year. This is such an inspiration, especially since Kelly added her own special note to her idea, which is:I believe the better me I can be, the better mom I can be.Nothing could be more true. How can I expect to keep my family happy and on track if I am no where near achieving those things for myself? At first I struggled with this idea. Change is hard, so I began to think about what we were already doing right... things we had already implemented just before the start of the school year.Family reading time, every day.(More recently) Eating healthy by making meal plans and allowing everyone to choose a meal for the week, then finding lower fat versions of the recipes.Being more diligent about our routines and schedules and wavering as little as possible once school started. (Anna's post school routine of snack, 1/2 hour of TV to unwind,
1. Prior working with USB device check whether your USB port is correctly wired and its leading voltage. Often front panel ports are being switched incorrectly or have increased power voltages due to a low-quality power supply. In such case the USB drive could possibly damage. If you are unsure use the USB outlets on the back panel of the computer’s main board.2. Take care of your hands static electricity before turning the flash drive on. By default flash drives have protection against such static electricity but don’t solely rely on that.3. After finishing work before unplugging use the option for safety switching off -> (Safely Remove Hardware) on your Taskbar. This will save you lots of further lost data troubles.4. When carrying or transporting use the drive’s original fabric pa
The table below shows the screen resolutions of visitors to my site from June to August 2007. You can see that 1024x768 is still the most popular screen size by a good way (this is the standard resolution of 15 inch LCD monitors), followed by 1280x1024 (this is the standard resolution of 17 inch LCD monitors), followed by 1280x800 (the most common resolution for wide screen monitors). It should be noted that wide screen monitors are rapidly becoming more popular, so this table will probably change significantly within a year or so... Anyway, the point I am belatedly getting to is this... Not only do you have to take into account that some people have bigger screens than others, but also that the 'Aspect Ratios' are different. For 1280x1024, the aspect ratio is 5:4 or 1.25:1 For 1024x768, the aspect ratio is 4:3 or 1.33:1 (same as for old style TVs, and the majority of digital cameras) The majority of Digital SLR cameras (and non-digital cameras) take photos
Ok clearly 1024×768 screen resolution is the most popular on my site and according to statistics this resolution is dominant across the net. As you can see from the Google Analytics percentage graph below this resolution is used by 40.58% of the reader traffic that comes to my site.
However as you can see there are also other resolutions to take into consideration when looking at your over all site design and how it appears to all users. While keeping this in mind today; I took a look at my site in some different resolutions to include; 800×600, 1024×768, 1280×1024 and 1600×1200 to insure that my site meet the standards that readers require when coming to the site.
After testing the site today in the resolutions above I have decided that I like my site best in 1280×1024 a little smaller but looks the best in my opinion and is preferred by 21.74% of traffic coming to the site. Before my testing today I was with the majority on resolution 102

Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree against North Korea that is inline with the U.N. resolution 1718, which recalled previous relevant resolutions 825 from 1993; 1540 from 2004 and 1695 from 2006 banning: “trading with North Korea in materials, goods and technology which could contribute to North Korea's development of weapons of mass destruction-related programs such as those of missiles and nuclear weapons.” “It also prohibits exports of luxury goods to North Korea and those to the North from third countries by way of Russia or Russian business corporations.” U.N. resolution 1718 reaffirmed, expressed the gravest concern, expressed profound concern, expressed a firm conviction, deplored, deplored further, condemned, demanded and decided. Perhaps this is why Putin took as long as he did in issuing his presidential decree. According to first deputy head of the State Duma Leonid Slutsky: ‘”Pyongyang isolated itself from the world comm
Question:I have a few first person shooters that almost seem like they run faster at high resolutions and slower at low resolutions. Why is that?Answer:This is one of those things I can't answer, but I do know what you are talking about. Heck, Quake 4 seems to run faster at 1024*768 than 640*480 on my computer for some bizarre reason, even when leaving everything else untouched. I think it is mostly just our mind and eyes playing tricks on us.At low resolutions objects tend to be a lot more jaggity, and some animations may seem jumpy because of that. Then again, I still play Halo CE quite often. I tested it at 640*480 and 1024*768 once, and it only ran about 2 frames per second slower at the higher res, but it seemed like the high res ran much faster and was much smoother. The same is true with Warcraft 3, I have to run it at least at1024*768, anything lower runs much much slower.Maybe some monitors and video cards just can't handle low reses as well as we'd like, so they appear to ru

It is January, 2006 has clicked into 2007 and the champagne bottles have been dropped off to be recycled. It is resolution time. So here is something I wrote with the aim of offering you your heart’s desire this year – or at least a method to identify and develop it.Keep reading and you will find a set of ideas and instructions. You can try them on your own, or what is more fun is to get a group of friends together and try it with them. Actually they don’t even have to be friends, just people you know. But be warned, you could have a magical time doing this and find yourself with a bunch of new friends. Before you get on the phone to your friends here is the basis of the method. Often we start making our resolutions based on what annoys us. Because we feel frustrated at not having done something, or because we keep doing something that we (or others) think that we shouldn’t.What I propose here is something else. Rather than starting with a unfulfilled desire, I’d like to start

Funny Jokes - E-MAIL RESOLUTIONS FOR THE NEW YEARI will try to figure out why I really need 9 e-mail addresses.I will stop sending e-mail to my wife (husband).I resolve to work with neglected children—my own.I will answer my snail-mail with the same enthusiasm with which I answer my e-mail.I will stop sending e-mail, ICQ, Instant Messages and be on the phone at the same time with the same person.I will resolve to back up my 12GB hard drive daily…well once a week…okay, monthly then…or maybe.I will spend less than one hour a day on the Internet. This, of course, will be hard to estimate since I'm not a clock watcher. When I hear “Where do you want to today?” I will not reply “MS Tech Support.”When I hear a funny joke I will not reply,”LOL…LOL!”I will read the manual…just as soon as I can find it.I will think of a password other than “password.”I will stop checking my e-mail at 3:00 in the morning…4:
I'm finally back after the best Christmas ever. We had our own Christmas, our first one in our own apartment, without going to our parents. The Wench's brother also came and we all had a great time.Normally I don't bother with resolutions, and if I do I seldom keep them. My resolution from last year I barely managed to pull off before the end of the year. But this year the Wench and I have joint resolutions and we even wrote them down. Here's my Top 5:1. Do exercise 3 times a week2. Finish my websites3. Save for my tattoo4. Get a new phone contract5. Sort out my payrise at workWe have 12 shared in total, with a few extra each, most of them to do with saving money or getting exercise. I probably should've done a few more about cutting down on my absinthe binges and orgies, we are getting married next year after all. It's almost like I'm getting old, next thing I know I'll be suggesting that I don't use my superpowers for evil, as all the Heroes are starting to get annoying with
Well, it is that time of year again when people everywhere tell themselves that “this year, I really will lose weight.” Of course, most of them said that last year as well.
That does not mean you can’t finally lose that weight this year though. What it means is you need to do it for the right reasons and with the right motivation. One way to do this is to write out your 2007 Body Blueprint.
Body Blueprint:
Laying the Foundation for your Ultimate Physique
Have you been exercising for years and still haven’t reached your ultimate physique?
We often tend to jump into a workout program without first laying out a blueprint for success. An architect would never allow contractors throw together a building without first planning each and every step along the way. They always know the materials and tools that are required in the construction, and most importantly, they know exactly what the building will look like when they are finished, in every intimate detail.
Welcome to the new year! Depending on the calendar you follow, the new year happened yesterday. The hangovers have subsided, the leftovers eaten and for most people it’s back to work. Back to work after a quick stop to the book store to pick up the latest diet book, latest exercise DVD, the latest self-help book and the latest spiritual book. Following the universal new year’s resolutions to lose weight, get laid, get rich and find god.
We all know how this story will end, either by Valentine’s day, or by Thursday, the books and DVD’s will be put away and everyone will be in the throngs of whatever was going wrong in their life last year.
Many have offered opinions about this phenomena - people are lazy, life is too hard, we have no time, we have a fear of failure, fear of success, too high expectations or any host of a thousand excuses for not following through.
Self help gurus will tell you that it is a question of motivation or leverage or scheduling,
It's 2007 already, and Save The Ribble intend it to be a year where there is NO barrage built in the River Ribble, and no more housing built in it's floodplain. In fact we aim to have the same resolution for 2008, 2009, 2010....We hope that if we can get enough people to stand up for their river and the greenbelt in the Central Lancashire City Consultation then we will be able to guarantee that these threats to local people and the environment are totally ruled out at least until 2027, we want the Ribble Floodplain to be guaranteed as a green breathing space for City and Country dwellers alike in the forthcoming Local Development Frameworks. Some people have accused us of saying that the Riverworks barrage and housing schemes are a 'foregone conclusion' - this is a ridiculous allegation, without even the slightest bit of logic. Indeed, what would be the point of our groups existence if we believed this to be true? Campaigning against a barrage that is a foregone conclusion would be l

Today will see many New Year’s Resolutions made which will include everything from dieting to choosing a new hobby. The two problems I have with many New Year’s Resolutions are that many of them are made in areas of your life which are either not that important and the other problem is that most New Year’s Resolutions are soon broken...
In 2007, I want to be…
A pro blogger
I love blogging and I want to do it for a living. How do you make a good income blogging? I have no idea. But this year, I’m going to find out.
A published writer
I’ve been asked to co-author a chapter of an experience design textbook that’ll be out in 2008. So in February and March this year, I’ll be writing it! Fingers crossed it all goes well.
A licensed driver
I’ve never learnt to drive, so this year I’m going to. Mr BQ and I just bought a car. Next step: learn the road rules. Then the driving lessons start.
A lot healthier
I finally have a really good medical team — a bunch of professors plus one head of department. They’re already getting great results. I’d like a whole year of continually improving health please!
A happy renovator
Renovating sucks and I’ve been very cranky about it last year. This year, I’m going to be happy about the progress we’ve already made an
2006 has been awesome. I can’t think of everything that has happened, but a lot has happened. I got married to the most beautiful woman in the world. I traveled to Europe for my honeymoon. I traveled to Honduras as a hired musician with my wife. Leslie and I met new best friends Josh and Anna. I went to Yale with Josh and took pictures outside the Skull and Bones house. I started a podcast with Josh that now has 52k subscribers. I had the chance to interview amazing authors, musicians, speakers, and pastors. I got my first real job at Wells Fargo. I got fired from a church and started adapting healthier belief structures and healthier work habits. I attended Bonnaroo as well as about 20 other concerts throughout the year. I read more books in 2006 than I have in any previous year and perhaps more than all previous years combined. I moved into an apartment in a part of town that is awesome. I started saving habits that will make Leslie and I rich. . . etc.
All of this made an incr
It's the time for making resolutions again, and this year I am yet again planning to draw and paint more regularly! It's not going to be easy, though, as my wife is about to start a new job that will involve her having to stay away from home three or four nights every week. But I will do my best. Just to set the ball rolling, here are a couple of quick drawings I did recently. The first is an Icelandic sheepdog puppy and the second is a misty river, which I did in about 20 minutes.Happy New Year everyone!
1. Be at peace within, and think pragmatically, at all times. Especially during adversity.
2. Devote snippets of time for insight-meditation.
3. Learn Spanish and Esperanto. Yeah! I want to be Zorro. *laughs*
4. Write freelance at least once for a magazine (preferably literary/reader’s digest).
5. Devote time to seek ultimate reality, just as the Buddha had done. Thus explains why I’m going to further studies on Physics and Chemistry.
6. Write a short-story/novel. Despite having the whole plot in my head, I’m procrastinating!
7. Sleep at a beach under the stars, hopefully with some friends, for security reasons… *winks*
8. Lose weight and gain a hot butt. And be a little narcissistic? *grins*
9. Find out how I can realise the plans to build custom furniture by myself, for my room. Thereafter, build it.
10. Recycle and reuse whatever I can.
11. Be more social with people I don’t know at a social event.
12. Disallow society to dictate my actions.

Arlington, Va. - January 1 is not only the start of the New Year, but it is when many people make their New Year's Resolutions. Manage stress. Eat healthier. Exercise more. Spend more time with family. Sticking to your resolutions and making changes can be difficult, but it's not impossible. The American Psychiatric Association (APA) offers tips and other resources to help families and individuals keep their resolutions for a healthy mind and healthy life. "New Year's is a great opportunity for people of all ages to reflect back on their accomplishments and set goals for the future," said Thomas Wise, M.D., who is chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Inova Fairfax Hospital, professor of psychiatry at George Washington University School of Medicine, and chair of the APA's Council on Psychosomatic Medicine. "It is important to set realistic expectations so that you can feel a sense of accomplishment and make progressive steps in your life." Try again. Everyone has made - and brok
Thirteen Resolutions I am NOT Going to Make This New Year's
I am NOT going to resolve to:1. Gain back the 22 pounds I have lost since October.2. Stop going to water aerobics classes as many times per week as I can.3. Eat all the chocolate and other goodies that are in this house right now!4. Never finish writing in this blog about the experience and aftermath of litigating Conservatorship of
NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONSFORMER FEMA CHIEF VOWS TO MAKE NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS BY MARCH 1Michael Brown Apologizes For DelayFormer Federal Emergency Management Agency director Michael Brown said todaythat he had not yet made his New Year's resolutions for 2006 but vowed tohave them done by March 1 "at the very latest."Mr. Brown apologized for the delay at a Washington press conference that wasoriginally called for ten o'clock this morning but was not actually helduntil four in the afternoon. The former FEMA chief, visibly embarrassed by not having made his New Year'sresolutions in a timely fashion, said that he had been "caught unawares" bythe change in years."I turned on the TV and saw that ball dropping, and I was like, holy cow, Ibetter get on this," Mr. Brown said.Despite his delay in making his resolutions, Mr. Brown said he expects 2006to be a big year for him and his new disaster preparedness consulting firm, adding, "By the end of 2006, the name Michael Brown will be synonymous
As we get closer to the day the jolly guy in the red suit comes sliding down our chimney, so do we get closer to the start of a new year.
For many the thing that starts the year afresh is a set of resolutions, commonly called 'New Year Resolutions'. These are things that we aspire to achieve in search of some kind of better condition for our lives. The most popular resolutions always seems to be losing weight, exercising more or spending more time with loved ones.
Anyway, curiosity got the better of me recently and I decided to check around and see what would make up a Top 10 Resolutions for 2007.
In no particular order, here is what I came up with:
1) Lose Weight
2) Get More Exercise
3) Eat Healthy
4) Quit Smoking
5) Drink less Alcohol
6) Manage Finances Better
7) Learn something new
8) Reduce Stress
9) Travel More
10) Spend more time with family
The idea for the New Year Resolution has been around for quite some time,
BEING SENSIBLE THAT I AM UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING WITHOUT GOD' S HELP, I DO HUMBLY ENTREAT HIM BY HIS GRACE TO ENABLE ME TO KEEP THESE RESOLUTIONS, SO FAR AS THEY ARE AGREEABLE TO HIS WILL, FOR CHRIST' S SAKE.Remember to read over these Resolutions once a week.1. Resolved, that I will do whatsoever I think to be most to God' s glory, and my own good, profit and pleasure, in the whole of my duration, without any consideration of the time, whether now, or never so many myriads of ages hence. Resolved to do whatever I think to be my duty and most for the good and advantage of mankind in general. Resolved to do this, whatever difficulties I meet with, how many soever, and how great soever.2. Resolved, to be continually endeavoring to find out some new contrivance and invention to promote the aforementioned things.3. Resolved, if ever I shall fall and grow dull, so as to neglect to keep any part of these Resolutions, to repent of all I can remember, when I come to myself again.4. Resolved,
New Years ResolutionsI tried making New Years Resolutions, Renewals for the New Year, Promises for the New Year, or whatever you desire to refer to them as. It does not matter what you call them, because I know one thing for sure and that is, they do not work for me. About some odd 22 years ago, I had an epiphany - a revelation came upon me and I discovered that they were false promises I was making to myself and that they just didn't work. So with this newly learned thing, that if it doesn't work, then try something else, and hence, I did. Now, this is not a secret as I have decided that I would share it with most of you. Ok, all of you. Before I reveal the secret remedy, just remember that an insane man finally came to his senses and said that if one continues to do the same thing over and over again, the reveal their own insanity. I say the man/woman who made that statement that had to be insane because they found out through experience. Well, as you know, I have been released
