I started obsessing about how many years it takes to become an MD, so I was comforted by the statistics I found for the mean salary of residencies nationwide. It's not as bad as I thought. Although residencies are the equivalent of hell-week spread out over 3 plus years, at least we are compensated for our work. I found out there are also many perks besides just the salary. About a week ago, I finally received a letter from the USCIS (United States Citizenship & Immigration Service) to let me know my two year conditional permanent residence has been extended for a year pending processing of my application to become a permanent resident. The letter says I can still travel anytime outside from USA during the one year extension. I “might” be going home to PI (Philippine Islands) during this period. I am not worried about this extension since I am not in a hurry to become a US Citizen. Hubby and I have many plans in the Philippines before obtaining my US Citizenship. Nobody can harm my residency unless I am committed with criminal issues.Just recently, I had done my biometrics in USCIS – Application Support Center.
