Even though I write and speak about raising teens in a challenging culture, I would never want to leave the impression that it is a season of life to be dreaded. My husband and I absolutely LOVE raising teens and were reminded of that fact this past week while College Boy was home for Spring Break and our home was non-stop Grand Central Station. I've been thinking about this lately, and before I delve into the specific instances, I'd like to address the issue in general. I think what may happen is that one actor says a pre-written line, and then the other guy improvises a response. Then the first actor repeats his line or question, and the other guy comes up with a new, different response. And this goes on and on, over and over, until the director says cut, and chooses ONE segment including ONE back-and-forth. On occasion, however, the director will just throw the entire sequence of Line : Response 1, Same Line : Response 2, .... It is looking like Scandinavian Networking Group (SNG) is about to repeat the histories of a couple of so called trading programs that have failed to deliver. If you have been hiding under a rock for the past several years, you may have missed GINSystem and PIPS (aka PureInvestor) scams. If you are not familiar with these two, just do a search on the names + “scam” and you will find all the information you need.
Between GINS and PIPS, thousands of investors lost millions of dollars and may never recover a single penny. The mastermind behind GINS was tried and convicted in Singapore for illegally running a business without the proper licenses. He also had over 60 charges of fraud against him.
PIPS followed the same paths to failure. Brian Mardsen and his wife are both currently in a Malaysian jail awaiting trial for exactly the same type of charges as GINS. It does not look very promising for those that “invested” in this program as well.

Idag är det Stockholms studenkår, med bland annat Petter Nilsson, som på DN Debatt angriper Lars Leijonborgs förslag om en examenspremie för de studenter som slutför sina studier i tid.
Precis som denna återkommande klagosång måste det upprepas hur generösa möjligheterna till heltidsstudier är i vårt land och hur liten andel av alla studenter som tycker det är mödan värt att ens bry sig om vem som väljs i kårvalen.

The latest survey/report from the Center on Education Policy, a Washington D.C. think tank, gives more weight to that line of thinking. Its survey of nearly 350 school districts found that while districts report more time on reading and math in elementary schools since No Child became law in 2002, time spent on other subjects has fallen by nearly a third. In my short time spent in New York, NY, I noticed a lot of odd things, many of which were the way they did "business" around there parts.I liked the spicy hotdog ploy because it was at the very least quite sneaky, subtle and clever, However my encounter with the rapper 5mics in Times Square was a great example of why you don't always have to be subtle, you can just...bully people into buying your stuff.America is a large country with a large (in many ways) population, point being that there are SO many people that to a certain extent you can just forget about repeat custom as being an issue, as long as there are enough people who will buy off you once, especially if operating on a small scale.
