Soldiers' Remains Cremated at Pet Crematorium
It seems like the Pentagon thought it was a proper way to respect the soldiers killed in this war by having their remains cremated at the Torbert Funeral Home, which does both humans and animals.Supposedly, the incinerators for humans and animals are separate. But, exactly, when was the last time you trusted what the Pentagon has said?I know I'm fairly outraged when I hear this, but where is the outrage from those who wanted this war and

House FISA Battle Continues While Southern Border Remains Open
Southern Border Security Should be Part of FISA BillThere's a thought-provoking article at the National Republican Congressional Committee website on the continuing FISA battle in the House. Our position is that FISA should be passed, but that as long as the southern U.S. border is an open door, why bother?House Republicans could make a much more convincing argument if the porous southern border was attended to at the same time. This article does hold the House Democrats' feet to the fire on the expired terrorist surveillance program. We present the first part of it here. Market Remains Range Bound
The markets are still trading in a range from about 1320 to 1400. Whichever level the market decides to break should be honored as the move should be considerable and decisive. It’s getting more and more difficult to pick levels where the market may stop except at the extremes of the range. When locked in a range like this, traders can get very nervous and thus cover their positions quickly.

Billboard located on the outskirts of Kansas City, MO.Barbara's Journey Toward Justice MailbagBarbara, I am writing you about the death of my step-mother and wrongful conviction of my father. My father married my step-mother when I was just 5 years old. They had a wonderful marriage and I had great role models in both of them. I love and miss her very much !It is unfortunate that the injustice that followed left my father and I unable to properly grieve.I was just 20 years old in 1990 when my step-mother died after mishandling a gun. Little did I know but the nightmare would not ever end. Not yet anyway. My father was convicted on circumstantial evidence. Based on police and prosecutor corruption the skilled prosecutor's were able to convince a jury to convict. I know many people will take

Would Economy Ended Up into a Recession in 2008? It still Remains as Unknown.
When you work for a corp. you have to know the direction of the company. When you are running a company, you have to recoginzed where is the entire market is heading. In current slow-down U.S economy, it is more important for people to think about the whole market than a individual stock. Too much money is being hoarded at the top and too little wealth creation is allowed with the restrictions and entry barriers for independent businesses paid for by corporations and enacted by our government.  I hope for the best, but I see dark days ahead, especially as this election approaches. 1,  I don’t think there is any doubt that most of the banks are in worse shape than they are saying. They also face exposure to credit card debt that can not or will not be repaid. Finally, there is the danger that these problems could have a domino effect with some dominos/victims not even being foreseen yet. The end result is greater damage to the financial institutions and their worth as well as t

Ron Paul Raises Almost Six Million But Remains a Fringe Candidate
Supporters of Ron Paul raised almost six million dollars yesterday, falling short of their goal of ten million dollars. This was another tremendous achievement, especially considering that this was the work of supporters and not the official campaign. However in failing to meet their goal it also shows that Paul supporters continue to overestimate their support and lack experience. Professionals would know to underestimate as opposed to overestimate the expected results and avoid such failure to meet their own predictions. Just as they overestimated the expected contributions, it is safe to predict that Paul supporters will overestimate the meaning of accomplishment. While it certainly demonstrates the power of the internet to affect politics, it does not mean Paul has a chance to win the Republican nomination. We saw comparable expressions of on-line enthusiasm from supporters of Howard Dean in 2003-4, with Dean even leading in the polls. Such support does not necessarily translate in

More Question Effects of Mandates But The Real Question Remains One of Principle
More writers are joining Robert Reich, who I quoted earlier in the week, in disputing Hillary Clinton’s claims that her health care plan will insure more people than Obama’s. The New York Times writes: But while Mrs. Clinton is right that Mr. Obama’s plan would leave out millions, she is being misleading in implying that her own plan covers everyone. Mandates rarely achieve 100 percent compliance. In addition, they are almost impossible to enforce. Because of those difficulties, Mrs. Clinton’s own plan would probably leave out millions. Mandates have not worked with auto insurance. While all drivers are required to have it, 15 percent of the nation’s drivers have none, according to the Insurance Research Council. Mr. Obama’s health plan could actually have a better compliance rate. The 15 million who would supposedly be left out equal about 5 percent of the population — a smaller portion than are going without auto insurance, said Joseph Antos, a health policy exp

That was the conclusion of a commemorative workshop on the 10th anniversary of those findings of indisputable patriotic, humane and above all scientific value, at the Santa Clara Social Workers School, a few steps away from the memorial where the remains of Comandante Ernesto Che Guevara and his comrades-in-struggle lie. Organized by the Academy of Science, the event featured the participation of Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez and Major General Rogelio Acevedo González, comrades of Che during the revolutionary struggle; Rolando Alfonso Borg

Senate punts on NCLB, Law remains in force
This from the Associated PressSenate Not Considering New Education LawWASHINGTON (AP) — The top two lawmakers on the Senate Education Committee are putting off consideration of a new No Child Left Behind law until next year, congressional aides said Friday.Sens. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., and Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., have decided that there's not enough time this year to complete work on the legislation, which has not yet been formally introduced......[The aides] spoke on condition of anonymity because negotiations over the content of the legislation are ongoing and sensitive......There is broad agreement that the law should be changed to encourage schools to measure individual student progress over time instead of using snapshot comparisons of certain grade levels. There is consensus, as well, that the law should be changed so that schools that miss progress goals by a little don't face the same consequences as schools that miss them by a lot.Deep divisions remain over some proposed cha

      The Song Remains the Same
A Documentary footage of Led Zeppelin at the height of their power in 1973 with bizarre fantasy sequences.Led Zeppelin were either the greatest live rock band ever or a bunch of pompous musos with a frankly adolescent fascination with witchcraft. Either way, they were a significant Rock 'n' Roll group, sitting between the electric blues bands and psychedelic rockers of the 60s and the heavy metal that was to come.Led Zeppelin's initial popularity was based as much on the band's concerts as its albums, and The Song Remains the Same, released in conjunction with the pseudodocumentary film of the same name, reproduces the very things that made Led Zeppelin concerts legendary. Lengthy solos intertwining interplay between Jimmy Page and Robert Plant and ridiculously long songs as "Dazed and Co
