I got tickets to the dress-rehearsal of Kooza last night in Philadelphia. Working for the Cirque du Soleil has perks. And WOE!
This is one insane Cirque show. The story is simple or so I think anyway. An Innocent receives a package out of which The Trickster escapes like a jack in the box. That alone [...]
KANYE WEST AT REHEARSAL! Above is a picture of Kanye West rehearsing for the Glow in the Dark Tour which kicks off tonight in Seattle, WA. Well it is a Glow in the Dark theme! Amazing Photos!!!!
During tour rehearsals, Idina Menzel took some time out of her busy schedule to send in a video blog from SIR studios in Los Angeles. "We're really excited, can't wait to see all of you," Idina said. Watch the brief message below the fold.
I attended my first worship band rehearsal on Wednesday night. I was nervous as I walked into a whole new enviroment. I arrived around 2 minutes to 8pm and quickened my steps as I realized everyone was on stage already. I’m used to being the first one at church to open and set up the stage. [...]

Is this what the music game has come to? Are record sales that low that artists who still go platinum are forced to sell tickets to their DRESS REHEARSAL?!?!?! According to New Times Broward-Palm Beach, Jay-Z and Mary J Blige are selling tickets to their dress/ stage rehearsal for $65-$95-$160!!!!!! The tickets to the show are already sold out but, instead of adding another show, I guess Mary and Jay said "F*ck It- We have to rehearse the d@mn songs anyway so why not make money off of our rehearsal?!" Definitely CAN'T KNOCK THE HUSTLE (no pun intended) but I would like to see the fools who would really pay for this ish!!!!! I sure hope this isn't true but, I really wouldn't put it past them...... Here is a copy of what was sent to a New Times Blogger- click on it to see the tickets that ar

It’s really hard to not pass judgment on this particular clip.
From the looks of it, the footage seems to have been taken while the people responsible for Wowowee were rehearsing parts of the show. Of course, there’s nothing unusual with people making sure that everything goes smoothly, but you got to admit, if the so-called rehearsal exposes the various ways wherein people can be cheated out of a win, this sort of clip could definitely cause irreparable damage to a show and host’s credibility.

The most dubious part of the clip shows that the contents of the circular boxes could be changed whimsically. If the content of the box could literally changed from ZERO to 0.5 in plain view of everyone. From the looks of it, it seems like that was the desired effect of the entire exercise. Now what could really warrant that type of rehearsal?

On the afternoon of 7th July 2005, information came to light about a private company running a terror rehearsal operation, featuring 'mock broadcasts', in London at the same time that real explosions were reported to have occurred on the transport network.
These revelations came not from an anonymous source but instead from the Managing Director of the private firm running the terror rehearsal operation. The private firm is Visor Consultants and the Managing Director in question is...

Before you know it your "Wedding Day" will arrive. Plans, plans, plan. One last thing for you to plan is your wedding rehearsal dinner. Your wedding rehearsal dinner can make or break the whole momentum of that glorious day "Your Day in the Sun". Your Wedding day.The wedding rehearsal dinner has always been an important but overlooked detail of the whole wedding day and of the whole event. You will have guests who have traveled far and wide to attend your wedding. Make sure that the day goes well.It is generally held that the groom's parents pay for the event - not necessarily so in 2007 or 2008. With the year 2008 coming up, modern brides usually find it fitting, best and proper to come up with their own individual game plan, though planning a rehearsal dinner can at times be a stressful process, and it does not have to be. The outcome of this pre-nup gathering of course is to get you all hyped and make sure that you and your man and the bridal party are ceremony ready.Remember well
J received a unique birthday present from my sister yesterday… a sunflower mug drawn and personalized by celebrity actors Sir Michael and Lady Shakira Caine. It’s actually part of donated artwork from Whatever It Takes, a unique charity project by 21st Century Leaders.
Their concept is simple, they “gather artworks from leaders in all fields; royalty, film, music, Nobel Peace Prize laureates, sports, literature etc. Each ambassador donates a symbol of hope, a self portrait and a message of hope for the future.”
Their products come in the form of wristbands, footwear, mugs, clothings to bags; each with unique hand drawn pictures and hand written messages from the celebrities.
Proceeds from the merchandise sales go towards tackling key global development issues including poverty, child abuse and environmental conservation. So far, they’ve raised $1,071,663.

Your big day is arriving and you have the plans for your wedding day more than firmly in place. Everything from your more than attractive apparel to the last detail for the wedding reception meal has been crossed off your personal "to do list". The last thing on that list deals with planning for the wedding rehearsal dinner. The wedding rehearsal dinner has long been an integral but overlooked part of smooth clockwork like preparation for your wedding deal and wedding reception meal. Tradition has it that the groom's parents graciously throw the soiree before the big day. With the year 2008 coming up, modern brides usually find it fitting, best and proper to come up with their own individual game plan, though planning a rehearsal dinner can at times be a stressful process, and it does not have to be.The outcome of this pre-nup gathering of course is to get you all hyped and make sure that you and your man and the bridal party are ceremony ready.Consider these user-friendly tips when pla
It had to happen…Bluetooth meets Marching Band! Over the summer, I went a little gadget crazy and purchased a Motorola DC800 stereo bluetooth gateway and a NaviPlay stereo bluetooth adapter. When you clicked on the links, you probably said “Why on earth did you spend $300 on those contraptions to beat up on the marching field?” Here’s the thing- I spent a grand total of $60 for BOTH!
I have been keeping my eye on them ever since they made their debut in Radio Shack last year (at full price). Being a technology realist (no, really…) I knew that the world of bluetooth was still at least a generation away from making it to the mainstream. After all, look around and all you see are those little bluetooth earpieces- hardly scratching the surface of it’s potential. With the advent of the A2DP stereo bluetooth profile, there are a whole host of great handsfree stereo options on the way.
Now for the application:
I use the setup to “run” my marching

This Is Your Life, Not A Dress
Friday was the wedding rehearsal and dinner. R was so excited… she couldn’t wait to be a flowergirl. She had the dress, the shoes, knew all about it… I had to wonder if she was starting to think the day would never come…like it was something we made up so she would behave etc. She looked so cute in her ‘rehearsal dress’ It was actually a gift from her 1st b-day so I was amazed I got one last wear out of it. I put her hair in a french twist and she just looked so elegant… 2 year old elegance isn’t easy to pull off either:)
She was supposed to walk down the aisle with her 16 month old cousin but P (cousin) wasn’t having that. She loves holding R’s hand other times, but not when her Mommy was going down the aisle right in front of them (MOH). So P ended up walking with her mom (B) and R walked all by herself…slowly, elegantly and oh so cute! She’d look back at me and I’d give her the “keep going&rdqu
Unlike the rest of our class, I woke up really early this morning, to make
it on time for the Budapest Festival Orchestra rehearsal in the Palace of
Music. I had contacted the orchestra administration beforehand and they got
permission from the conductor, Andras Schiff, that I can attend the
rehearsal.
The hall at the Palace of Music was something! It is new, modern and
beautiful and sounded marvelous too. I will add a picture later where you can
see it in all its glory.
The orchestra was really fantastic also. The program was Haydn, Schubert and
Mozart, and with the modern strings and woodwinds they used natural horns and
natural trumpets. They sounded really good in this music. Maestro Schiff told
me he is a bit afraid for the horns, who clam a high note easily, but in my
humble opinion that is the price you have to pay to have a great brass sound
for music of the classical era!
When I came back to our own rehearsal hall for our master class, it seemed
everyone was in need of a break
One of my absolute favorite bloggers is video producer and writer Tom Degan, up in Goshen, NY. Rather than attempt to encapsulate my own thoughts on the totally unsurprising commutation of Scooter Libby's 30 month jail term while awaiting sentencing on his litany of lies to protect his boss Blackheart Dick and our soulless president, I point you to Tom's well-scribed take on the issue:"The Rant" by Tom Degan: LIBBY'S OFF THE HOOK
Prince William and Prince Harry with Joss Stone at the Concert for Diana Rehearsal at Wembley Stadium
Both of the late Princess Diana’s boys were on hand to attend the Concert for Diana Rehearsal at Wembley Stadium earlier today. Prince William, 25, and Prince Harry, 22 would do their mum proud. William said that he thought that Diana would be slightly amazed that they’d actually managed to pull it off.
Prince Harry had said that Elton John will be singing “Candle In The Wind”, the song that he re-wrote for Princess Diana’s funeral in September 1997. Other notables to perform include Duran Duran, Supertramp, Joss Stone, Fergie, and Lily Allen.
The concert takes place tomorrow, July 1st, which would have been Diana’s 46th birthday. VH1 will air the concert live starting at 11:00 AM EST, with NBC showing highlights of the concert at 8:00 PM EST.

During the wedding rehearsal, the groom approached the pastor with an unusual offer: "Look, I'll give you $100 if you'll change the wedding vows. When you get to the part where I'm supposed to promise to 'love, honor and obey' and 'be faithful to her forever,' I'd appreciate it if you'd just leave that out." He passed the minister a $100 bill and walked away satisfied. On the day of the wedding, when it came time for the groom's vows, the pastor looked the young man in the eye and said: "Will you promise to prostrate yourself before her, obey her every command and wish, serve her breakfast in bed every morning of your life, and swear eternally before God and your lovely wife that you will not ever even look at another woman, as long as you both shall live?" The groom gulped and looked around, and said in a tiny voice, "Yes," then leaned toward the pastor and hissed: "I thought we had a deal." The pastor put a $100 bill into the groom's hand and whispered: "She mad
Thoughts, triggers, & background homework in scene 2 seem to be forming the basis of some great improv, i.e., after a character speaks, I improv my thoughts and feelings, not as me, but as Charles, then I go back into the actual text.
Often this "activation" carries me effortlessly through the next few lines of dialog until something changes in the text (i.e,. a beat change). All this based on my imaginative forages into the world of the play.
Also, this leads to an idea: how to respond, be alive, when the other character is talking to me. When the other character has long "speech," have him/her say one line or thought to me, as best they can, mean what they say, and then I'll breathe and just improv an immediately intuitive response to that one line/thought, and the other actor breathes that in, really listens, and then responds with the next line or thought. This is really to help me take in and start to respond to what the character is saying to me.
"saving it" or slowly working towards some final performance level that will coincide with opening night and the run.
Reality: I'm holding back -- not moving forward.
How it's done: if each rehearsal gets stronger, richer, more full, more clear and my ability to find more and more new, interesting and exciting insights, then that's how to grow into a performance! Work hard each time!
I was hoping I could do here, in this journal, what I did with the short scene for the Weise-Barron show case, but no way I can keep up in this journal, as much as I'd love to . . . later, if I keep careful notes, I'll detail the work I'm doing, which is starting to get intense -- all I can do is sketch some early things out here: I've got to remember to update my written journal after each rehearsal so that I can later transfer things here.
Some Running Notes:
I pause a lot. I pause because sometimes I don't know why I'm saying something, and I'm waiting for motivation . . . inspiration . . . a miracle. Ron has me running through the text, and at first I thought 'how's that going to help!?,' but now I see . . . he's trying to get me to stop thinking, and this almost subconsciously seems to free up resources to focus on doing, and that is making things clear much more quickly than "thinking" about them . . . Ron's an old pro, and he knows what he's doing . . .
Its Finally time to give the low down on the Jay-z Reasonable concerts. This will be part one which will cover the first concert, called a rehearsal, at Nokia Times Square Theater. This was a real...
