29th November - 6th December, 2008. The Phuket King's Cup Regatta is Asia's biggest and most popular regatta. More than a regatta, the week long event consists of great parties, great sailing and lots of fun. Inaugurated in 1987 to celebrate the 60th birthday of His Majesty the King of Thailand, the event has been held every year since during the first week of December.

These are open to all local and area boats. These races will be held July 5 and August 31, 2008.In addition, MIYC has been a major sponsor and organizer in the Mackinac to Manitoulin Island Yacht Race. This will be the 5th annual running of this regatta, with the race originating at Mackinac Island, and finishing in Little Current, Ontario. More than 200 yachts, worth an estimated £30 million, have been in Dartmouth over the last three days for the port’s annual regatta.

The multi award-winning Royal Cliff Beach Resort recently co-hosted the 13th Pattaya Mail PC Classic Royal Cliff Beach Resort International Regatta, an international sailing regatta, held in celebration of His Majesty the King’s forthcoming 80th Birthday.
The regatta sailed off the Royal Varuna Yacht Club (located adjacent to the Royal Cliff Beach Resort) and culminated in a navy themed Charity Gala Awards Dinner held at the main poolside of the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel.
The event featured an exciting sailing race with an afternoon snacks buffet as well as a delicious International and Thai Buffet Dinner. A unique live entertainment programme was staged to complement this action-packed sporting event. The participants, including yachtsmen and women, enjoyed a fantastic day and evening.
