      Past rears its ugly head!
Sometimes in life you never get the answers you want!Maybe that's why I became a journalist so that I could seek for the truth and find the answers to life's questions.Although it's never quite full filling, because a huge question mark is forever looming over my own life. And when I thought, soon, just maybe, with a little work, I could finally find the answers. I am shut out, once again. The thing

Fuze rears its glossy head in some AT&T stores
Can't be long now, right? First we had dummies, but these are the real deal, ladies and gentlemen -- a little over five ounces of HSDPA, VGA, TouchFLO 3D, QWERTY, and likely a bunch more letters and numbers we're not recalling at the moment. Retail Fuzes are trickling into stores as we speak, though they're apparently going under lock and key; as far as we can tell, none will be sold until AT&

Matt's flowery prose again rears its acrimonious head
"No, I don't mean he'll personally decorate the West Wing, open a bathhouse in the Rose Garden or take up with Barney Frank. I mean he'll be the most radically pro-homosexual, anti-family president in history." "homofascist fan club" *** "ideological...

Blade Runner sequel rears its head again
Screenwriter Travis Wright has addressed the rumours about the Blade Runner sequel being in development, rumours he himself started at the Creative Screenwriting special screening of his critically panned summer blockbuster Eagle Eye the other week. At the event, Wright told the audience at the Q&A that he and John Glenn, who co-wrote Eagle Eye, [...]

      Putin Rears His Head
"Oh no, Putin is rearing his head again, lets run and get Sarah Palin she'll know what to do!"Sarah Palin is the gift that keeps on giving to Barack Obama and the Democrats. If I were John McCain or his campaign, I would find a way to remove her from the ticket and replace her with financial guru Mitt Romney. Not that anyone in the uper echelon of the GOP is listening to me, but she is damaging t

Once again discrimination rears it’s ugly head

Photo: sexual discrimination rears its ugly head
I searched the Internet to see if there are public places in America, infidel places, that do indeed treat women differently than men. What is more non-Muslim than a pub, I thought to myself; what I found was quite disturbing:

Earthquake in Illinois? New Madrid Fault rears its ugly head in St. Louis, Chicago, Indiana, Kentucky
Midwesterners received the shock of their lives this morning- an earthquake, measuring 5.4 on the richter scale, rattled the Midwest from St. Louis to Indianapolis early this morning. The earthquake center was about 6 miles from West Salem, Illinois, but the seismic activity was felt up to 350 miles away. Earthquake activity, while extremely rare, does occur occasionally in the region due to the New Madrid fault line, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (earthquake.usgs.gov). A lesser known northern extension of the New Madrid fault line, the Wabash fault (or Wabash Valley fault), is also believed to have been involved in today's earthquake.Watch this sleepy resident describe his experience:Nonetheless, it was a very surprising wake-up call this Friday morning.View the AP news source

Ultra Fast CT Scan Rears It’s Head Again!
I’ve written posts on the subject of the “revolutionary” ultra fast CT scan, the snap shot of the heart that would finally put an end to invasive diagnosis methods such as cathaterization. In those posts you may remember that the problem was that the reports were only marginally accepted in the medical community and that [...]

Censorship rears its ugly head in Dancing with the Stars
I was all set to go on Dancing with the Stars with my partner, the lovely Victoria Principal, when the producer knocks on my door and tells me that my Charleston-Jazz-Waltz fusion, the one that took me over three years to perfect, was canceled. "What do you mean? I auditioned it, and you guys said that it wasn't too Avant-garde for American audiences." "Look, you're great," he told me, "but those pants'll never pass the censors." Dejected, I went over to Victoria's dressing room and broke the news to her. We cried for a while, but vowed to come back- leaner, meaner, and stronger. I'm sorry I let my Asymmetric fans down. I'm also sorry we live in such an unenlightened country where a man can't wear the pants that reflect his soul- as well as most of the light in the room. C'mon, Puritans, it's almost 2008.

Hillary's Smug Entitlement Rears Its Ugly Head Once Again
In New Hampton, Iowa, at a recent campaign stop, Hillary Clinton accused a man who asked her a tough question of being a "plant." The man, Randall Rolph, who asked about Hillary's recent vote on legislation to call Iran's army a terrorist organization, was infuriated by the encounter, in which Hillary accused him of being fed information, to which he responded that he had done the research himself. After the event, he said "It was an insult. It was basically calling me stupid. That I can't think on my own. That I don't have the ability to research or come up with a coherent or concrete thought on my own. How dare she! She never did answer the question. She just, what I say is, bitch-slapped me."In a time when Hillary Clinton is focusing on humanizing her tough image, it's a serious misstep to alienate potential voters with encounters like this one. It brings to mind her "vast right-wing conspiracy" of 1998. She's channeling Nixon's paranoia at a time when the nomination and gene

Spring fever rears its lovely head
I feel like a fair weather blogger, in reverse. When the weather is crappy and I'll I want to do is hunker down on my couch with a cup of coffee and my laptop I find safe haven in the blogosphere. But on days like today, 80 degrees and blue skies, the last thing I want to do is slave over a computer writing pithy or verbose posts about... Well, I have no idea what about. That's the point. My

Cancer Rears It's Ugly Head Again
Last week it was Elizabeth Edwards, and this week cancer again rears it's ugly head in another prominent political figure...White House Press Secretary Tony Snow.Snow, a survivor of colon cancer, announced that his cancer has returned...in his liver.Like I said, Cancer doesn't care who you are or what political party you belong to, or what religion you belong to, etc. Cancer affects everyone equally.Tony's situation is serious, but treatable. Good Luck Tony. I for one look forward to seeing him get well and get back to the podium so I can yell at the TV when I have it tuned to his daily press briefing.

      Totafot, She Who Rears Up
כ"א באדר תשס"זWhile researching the knot of Isis, I came upon the formation that developed in the wax of my reversal candle Friday night (the 8th night of the ritual)! It looked like the Uraeus (shown). From About.com:The Uraeus is the serpent emblem found in Egyptian portrayals of Royalty and Deity. It is a symbol of divine authority, representing the Goddess Wedjat as the all seeing eye of Ra, who was believed to protect the Pharoahs by spitting fire, and the emblem of the Lower Kingdom of Egypt. According to legend, the Cobra was given to the pharoahs as a sign of kingship by the God Geb.From Wiki:The Uraeus (plural Uraei or Uraeuses) is the stylized, upright form of an Egyptian spitting cobra (or snake / serpent / asp), used as a symbol of sovereignty, royalty, deity and divine authority in ancient Egypt. Uraeus is a Greek word that may have its origins in ancient Egyptian, meaning "she who rears up".According to the Story of Re, the first uraeus was created by the goddess

“Unintended Acceleration” Rears Its Ugly Head
I'm sure many TTAC readers will recall the great Audi 5000 "unintended acceleration" legal turmoil of the mid-80's. The legal/media feeding frenzy set Audi sales back by a decade, despite the fact that every case of "unintended acceleration" was found to be caused by human, not mechanical error. Well, those bastions of quality journalism, the Detroit Free Press and Motor Trend blog, are trying to resuscitate the media frenzy, only this time Toyota's to blame for people mistaking the accelerator for their brake pedal. Apparently the NHTSA has received 33 complaints that Toyota Tacomas are driving themselves off the roads, and has launched an investigation into the 2006-2007 model years. "Toyota has said to us they've found nothing wrong with the
