Finally, Juventus beat a top side, edging AS Roma by a 1-0 score earlier today. Alessandro del Piero scored the game's only goal via free-kick on the stroke of halftime. Check it out on youtube, it was pretty sweet. Juve move within a point of second-place Roma with the victory, their first against "top competition" since being promoted back to Serie A this year. They had come close before though, tying Inter Milan twice, AC Milan, Fiorentina and Roma once. So the bianconeri are back. We'll see them in Europe next year for sure; and it will probably in the Champions League.A few short weeks ago I was ready to (and in fact nearly did) anoint Real Madrid as Spanish league champs. Their lead was nine points at the time and I didn't see how Barca could close the gap. But after losing two of th
Howdy! I know it's been a long time since we've talked, but I have a good reason. I OFFICIALLY graduated from Howard University on Saturday. I have real life actual diploma and I couldn't be more happy. So, you know I had to kick it strong this past weekend. Now, you've heard plenty of stories about me cutting up in the club. This time, I was on my best behavior. However, one of my good friends decided to cross the line this weekend. There have been conflicting reports about how Sister Rate ended up detained by club security. Let's explore them. Here is her version, in her own words:So what had happened was... I was about to go to the second floor of the club, to see my other group of friends, and to look 4 my enchanted love, but instead of taking the less crowded way, I decided to walk through the most crowded part of the club. Now usually I try to say "Excuse me", but I was way too hype/drunk to think about such pleasantries. So I walk past this guy and gal dancing, and I feel so
Michael Barrett's rep Matt Kramer over at Barrett's website has agreed to let us LOHO bloggers compile our questions for Michael to answer. This diary is for those said questions that you've wanted to ask Michael but were afraid because you're one of the "little people." Well, have no fear!!! I will compile the list of questions and send them to Matt on Friday morning. He said that we should have answers within the next couple of weeks. The only thing I think that Julie (or any of us) would ask is that the questions not delve into private issues or any other obviously "off limits" topics (I'm sure this sounds odd coming from me) - the only exception being the question of the "nutty buddy." And with that, take it away:
UZI
This was too funny, and sad, to ignore:
Rule No. 1 for congressional staffers: Don’t borrow your boss’s car without telling him. Or maybe it’s “Don’t blog about your sex life.” In either case, the car thing is pretty high up there.
If you must break that rule and slip away with the keys, at least don’t get in a wreck.
And, if you happen to break both of those rules, don’t then tell the Capitol Police the congressman gave you permission to take it. Officers know how to reach members, even when they’re on a retreat.
Apparently, one of Rep. Tom Tancredo’s staffers didn’t get the memo.
Yes, it’s true—according to The Hill’s Under the Dome blog, a Tancredo staffer took the Congressman’s Toyota Prius out for a joy ride and then wrecked it before he could return it without the Congressman noticing.
