I knew I wasn't dreaming when my house began to shake around 4:45 this morning, but my wife insisted that she felt nothing.
I checked the house, looked out the windows and found everything as normal as always. It wasn't until later when I realized that a 5.2 magnitude earthquake occurred just after 4:30 ... 265 miles south in West Salem, Ill.
Did anyone else notice the quake this morning?

Get a baby announcement printed up like a Rock 'n Roll flyer? Sweet. Only the Dragon could dig this one up. Maybe the utter genius of his blog will inspire me to post more this year, or maybe it will just make me a bit more humble to bask in shadows as great as his.
It quickly toped the R&B charts, but its probably best remembered for the rendition by Bill Haley and his Comets. While I enjoy Haleys take, theres just no comparing his teenage friendly cover to Turners obscene and highly explicit original. The latters voice oozes soulful seduction. I probably wont even let me daughter listen to it until shes at least thirty because the tunes baby-making timbre might get her pregnant. Im not sure. I havent finished Med School yet

Established in 1938, HABA products have a great reputation for being high-quality, safe and fun. Their 2007 line-up lives up to their reputation and adds even more of an interactive flair.
The Animal Den (pictured - top right) is a cool fabric ball for babies that has all sorts of fun things to pull out that rattle & crinkle, and they have lots of cool baby toys where that came from!
At The Zoo With Alex is one of the great new HABA games that I’m in love with for the toddler & preschooler range - it’s a fact book with 5 built in animal puzzles and a dice game for 2-4 people. I love toys & games that are multipurpose and educational without being over the top & screaming “Hi! I’m multipurpose & educational!” These HABA games are the type that children will play with and not notice they’re learning. (A perk to HABA games? All of the instructions are online!)
Check out all of the new games and toys from HABA with their handy ag
SRI Lanka ripped through Bangladesh's batting after electing to field in overcast conditions in the first cricket Test at Colombo's Sinhalese Sports Club on Monday.
The tourists, unsettled by both pace and spin, lost their top five batsmen for 50 runs before going to lunch on the opening day at a miserable 7-64.
Fast bowler Dilhara Fernando claimed three wickets and off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan took two.
Openers Javed Omar and Shahriar Nafees put on 28 by the eighth over when Sri Lanka hit back with a vengeance.
Lasith Malinga had Nafees (15) caught down the leg side by wicketkeeper Prasanna Jayawardene, who had missed a similar chance off the same batsman two overs earlier.
In the next over, Chaminda Vaas forced Omar to edge an outswinger to the keeper before Bangladesh had added another run.
Fernando, who replaced Malinga, claimed former captain Habibul Bashar for two and then trapped new skipper Mohammad Ashraful in a well-executed plan.
Ashraful, 22, pounced on
The title speaks for itself. It’s lame and I can’t even think of things to blog about despite my recent trip to Cebu. In lieu of the obligatory travelogue and chronicles, I’d just go through a laundry list of things that I should’ve talked about in the past. Don’t worry, I’ll still blog about Cebu after my brain recovers from the deadline-beating articles that I wrote for Blog Tutorials and Froodee. Be reminded that these things will be random and the following paragraphs may not have anything to do with the previous paragraph.
I just got a new camera. It’s a Sony Cybershot DSC T100. I think it’s a perfect camera for the not-so-photographically person that I am. It doesn’t carry the steep price tag of a DSLR but it can take decent-quality pictures for this blog and family photo albums. I took 700 photos when we were in Cebu. If you’re wondering, I got the black one.
I know this is a bit out-of-season already, b
A powerful undersea earthquake and a series of aftershocks rattled eastern Indonesia on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said, causing panicked residents to flee their homes. The tremor with a preliminary magnitude of 6.0 struck in the Maluku Sea, 220 kilometres from Ternate, the main city on Maluku island and 2,350 kilometres from the capital, Jakarta. Hendrik Leopatty, an official with the Indonesian Meteorological and Geophysics Agency, said the quake lasted around six seconds. It was followed by at least one aftershock with a preliminary magnitude of 5.6, the USGS said.
WILLIE Mason says Queensland is using “scare tactics” on rookie New South Wales halfback Jarrod Mullen - and defiantly predicted it wouldn’t work.
The Blues second rower made the comment after Maroons giant Petero Civoniceva warned that 20-year-old Mullen would be confronted with four of the most punishing defenders in the game — Tonie Carroll, Nate Myles, Carl Webb and Neville Costigan — when he makes his debut at Suncorp Stadium next Wednesday.

Rattle10 March 2007 09:15 FOCUS News Agency The Macedonian daily Vecer claims in an article Friday that ‘Bulgarians compete at this year’s Eurovision song contest with a plagiarized song’. The claim is published in an unsigned article titled “Voda* - is this a Bulgarian song or plagiarism?” The Macedonian accusations against the song ‘Voda’ do us a favor, the singer Mariana Popova, who performed the Bulgarian song at last year’s Eurovision contest, said commenting on the accusations. The motifs in the song ‘Voda’ are purely Bulgarian, from the region of Shopluk, the musician Stoyan Yankulov told Focus Agency. He added he had never heard a melody similar to the one he sings.“Balkan countries’ folklore has much in common. Along the same logic the Serbs can also say the song is theirs because the motifs sound much like theirs,” Yankulov explained and described the article in the Vecer newspaper as “a political jealousy on the side of Macedonia”.*Voda - Bulg
In 2006, the Diamondbacks were seen to be a team on the rise mainly due to its young talent and potential, as the team started off hot, but faded in the second half. With the steroid issue hitting close to home with the implication of Jason Grimsley and his legal woes, the team after the revelation suffered.Although the team had a season that has many ups and downs, they have a great, talented core and should be primed to make an impact in the National League West. With the addition of an old friend, Randy Johnson, the Diamondbacks have the potential to be players in the National League pennant race. For the Diamondbacks, the starting rotation has the potential to be in the top echelon of the National League, as they have an ace in the making, a legendary fireballer, a crafty veteran, and a bunch of arms ready to make an impact. At the top of the rotation will be ace pitcher, Brandon Webb. He’s one of the best hurlers in the game, and Webb was 16-8 with a 3.10 ERA. He won the Cy Young
Viacom wants YouTube to take down some of the entertainment company's intellectual property. The stuff it copyrights. Things like the Stephen Colbert show. Hard to sell them in re-runs when they are available on the web for free.
So, the dance between Google, the new owner of YouTube, and the big content companies continues.
The maneuvering for earning money off video on the web is just beginning. But, YouTube would be making a mistake to assume that the Time Warners and Viacoms of the world need it. They have set up websites of their own. YouTube videos of their content draws away audiences that might go to those sites and watch video ads or click on banners. A lot of $$$ are involved. And, copyright infringement can be an ugly business.
Google may have bitten off more than it can chew.
