Nothing suggests a good week to come like the Catholic Church calling out "godless" Hollywood — or, more specifically, rebuking Tom Hanks and the rest of the fork-tongued heathens who had requested access to shoot parts of Angels and Demons in a few of Rome's celebrated cathedrals. The Vatican apparently has yet to get over the whole Jesus-was-married thing from The Da Vinci Code, and the pa
The EURUSD has held above 1.53 (to this point), but the critical level is 1.5283. A drop below there would shift focus to 1.51; which is a Fibonacci extension. The drop below 1.5364 negates the short term bullish bias. The preferred count that calls for strength for current levels is intact as long as price is above 1.5283. A drop below there indicates that a C wave is underway towards 1.5

Euro rose against the Dollar on Tuesday trading above 1.6000 for the first time since its 1999 inception amid growing expectations that the European Central Bank's next move may be an interest rate hike. ECB Governing Council Member Christian Noyer said the bank would do what is needed to bring inflation back to its target of just below 2%, adding that the central bank would move rates if needed. That followed comments from Governing Council member Yves Mersch, who said the ECB has to ask itself each month whether a rate rise is needed to control inflation. ECB is seen keeping rates at least at a six-year high of 4% for a while. In contrast, markets expect the Federal Reserve to lower benchmark US rates further from the current 2.25% at a policy meeting on April 29-30. US economic data on

Milwaukee Brewers third baseman/outfielder Bill Hall has as of late been a Cincinnati Reds killer, especially at Great American Ball Park. Saturday's game against the Reds would illustrate that point perfectly as Hall's 2-run double rallied the Brewers as they scratched out a 5-3 win. Milwaukee was led by the aforementioned Hall, who went 2-for-5 with a double while driving in 3 runs; Corey Hart added his first home run of the year. Starting pitcher Jeff Suppan pitched well, going 6 innings, allowing only 3 hits, 2 earned runs, walking 1 while striking out 3; however, the win went to Guillermo Mota (1-0). Mota pitched 2 innings, striking out 2; closer Eric Gagne notched his 6th save while pitching a scoreless 10th inning. Cincinnati was led by rookie Joey Votto with a home run, a run score

One night after watching Joe Borowski blow a save opp to the Angels, the Indians returned the favor Tuesday in Anaheim, as Travis Hafner bailed them out with a two-run, two-out homer in the teams 4-3 win. The team was down to their last strike in the 9th when Asdrubal Cabrera drew a walk off of losing pitcher Justin Speier. Then Hafner hit a bomb to deep right that was never in doubt, giving the team their 4th win of the season and second in their last three games.Props also have to go to starter Jake Westbrook, who went the distance in earning his first win of the year. Jake was sailing along, and by throwing 64 of his 95 pitches for strikes he stayed ahead of the count for a majority of the night. The Angels took a 3-2 lead off of Jake with a couple of bunt hits and then a Vlad Guerr

The stock market rallied on Friday and boy was the press upset. When I turned on my car radio I caught the market report near the end and I didn’t hear the news about the stock market rally. All I heard was very depressed journalists reporting. They sounded so sad and upset. I said to myself, “oh no, what terrible thing is happening now! More miners trapped? Are more bridges falling down? No! Please don’t tell me anything like that!”
So, what was this cataclysmic event that made these reporters so sad? Well, it turns out, the terrible thing was the stock market soared 233 points, and now, for the second day in a row the Dow Jones Average moved quickly and strongly upward. The day before this 233-point rise the stock market had fallen over 300 points in the morning, but then in the afternoon it turned around and rallied over 300 points!
This means the stock market moved up over 500 points in less than two days. The people who were reporting it were abso

The NASDAQ made an incredible comeback today. After being down about 72 points, it rallied back to close down just 7.76 points. This created a red hollow candlestick on the chart, which bodes well for a continued rebound tomorrow. Additionally, the RSI had been in oversold territory when the NASDAQ was at its low, so that is another sign that we should get a rebound tomorrow. Right now the NASDAQ stands at 2451. I would look for a move up to 2500 in the very short term, which is the 200 DMA. After that, I think we will see it pullback again next week. We'll see.Below is the current chart for the NASDAQ:
Last day of a Forex trading week brought some good results for EUR/USD currency pairs, moving it past 1.3450 level (but still not breaking the recent downtrend). The main reasons of such behavior of EUR/USD can be seen in slightly better than expected April industrial orders which in year-to-year period changed by +12.2% against +8.7% anticipated by experts. Also, Jean-Claude Trichet, President of ECB, spoke about Eurozone economics marking it mostly in very optimistic epithets, that could give Euro bulls some hope for the faster interest rates increase by ECB.

During a short pause while waiting for the race cars to arrive, I sat down at the foot of truck to interview the team mechanics.
