There is nothing worse than a rainy day inside. All day, we have spent inside because mommy doesn't want us tracking in the mud. The last I checked, there was nothing wrong with mud. Maybe after she finds all the things we secretly destroyed, she may change her way of thinking. I know Cheyenne pulled a pillow apart, nice fluffy stuff all over the bedroom and Sundance destroyed the pillow case

A friend came by from northern Taiwan to visit my little Tainan pond on the worst possible weather. For a while forecast was predicting a comfortable hot sunny day, but then it suddenly turned and rain started pouring like I’ve never seen before. Absolutely mad rain for hours and hours.
But that didn’t stop us, oh [...]

I typed out a whole post about spending the morning with a giant calendar trying to schedule the family for the summer, but when I re-read it, I passed out from sheer boredom and hit my head on the table. Ouch. I didn't want to set off a pandemic of unwitting people happening upon my posts and fainting from the astonishing mundaneness of my life, so I deleted that part. (Originally? I wanted t
Such a crappy day outside today, good thing I got Ninja Gaiden 2 to play. Seems like its been a couple of weeks since I've played a console game. So their will either be a review posted at some point or I'll be bitching about how hard the game is and that I broke my controller throwing it across the room. Either way should be fun. And Big welcome to AmishReject for becoming a member of the KRMblog
Since it’s raining every now and then, and you can’t go outside or into the garden to relax, it’s easy to log on and start a roulette game. It beats having to spend time traveling to a casino or to get all your friends to gather for a card or poker game. If you play [...]
When you live in throbbing mass that pulses on it's own, the white noise it creates seems to overwhelm you until you become part of it. New York City and Los Angeles are like that. They are non-stop moving, breathing entities....until it gets overcast or rains. NYC is a mass of wet right now and quiet and gloomy. Emmy Rossum has her own playlist for such peaceful occasion, but never forgets one th
What are the things you do when its always raining outside? I guess u wonder about a lot of things. Or maybe you will just get bored staying home. For me rainy day is a good day. I like rain. Thw cool weather is soo comfy for me. I guess cause im a home body person. SO its ok for me to stay home on a rainy day. Philippines, my country is a place where visited by typhoon every year. I have been trying to take the Little Guy somewhere fun on Friday afternoons, especially now that it is nicer outside. Last week we went to Hersheypark for a few hours, but today it was too rainy for that. So we considered our options, called to see if his best friend was available (he was!), and ended up at Curiosity Connection.Curiosity Connection, otherwise affectionately known as the home of t
We’ve had such fantastic weather here (up ’til now, anyway). On Saturday, while it was still warm, we had some thunderstorms. In between the showers, I allowed the boys to run through the puddles out back with a few of their neighborhood friends. That was always one of my favorite things to do; run through puddles in the rain. I snapped a couple of pictures, as well as a couple of pics of Ryan and Zach.
Do you ever have a day where you got nothing to do and you really just don’t want to go outside? You don’t have to leave your home to bird watch.
You want to make sure that get yourself a pair of binoculars, but also find that there are things that [...]
The big gray clouds were threatening Ouled Mgatel. And then it was pouring with rain. Don't worry, a house made of adobe doesn't melt that easily.Soon animals found refuge under the covered terrace. As for the dog Lisa, she didn't like this at all.
It's been raining a lot here lately, and that doesn't make for much outdoor fun for me and Gracie. Today is supposed to be nicer and maybe we'll be able to get outside. Last night we did get to go to agility practice, which we'll post about soon. In the meantime, Mum has been working on some tricks with us again. We did the usual, sit, down, bang, go target, beg, dance, rollover and more. Gracie's learned a new trick that you can see, it's bye, bye - and she does it so well! I love the little head tilt she does when she waves.Mum introduced a box to both of us the other day. Gracie isn't quite the type of pup to offer up as many behaviors as I am, yet, and she wasn't that interested in the box, but she had a little fun with it. The first time Mum showed me the box the other day, I was on it
I wonder what's happening to the weather in this city. Ten days ago it snowed, enough to cover up homes and cars and make roads slippery. Then it turned bright and sunny and up until yesterday it was...

Tomorrow, maybe will be a history of my life. Its a rainy day today..its heavy rain actually. My sister get heavy fever, and we had canceled our plan to back to our hometown, Malacca, today. We went to clinic, and she got 2 days MC. Its first time for me also, drive a car thats not mine. She so weak and cannot drive. The kids and I have to wait in my sister's car. They keep teasing each other, and Najla love their laughed. If she still not recover from fever tomorrow, I have to drive to Malacca by my own. Inever drive on highway by my alone. And I still not recognize the road that I should taken. I have a strong instinct that one day, I must try to drive alone on Highway. Only Allah know, maybe tomorrow is the day that I waiting for.
Thoughts After a Rainy Day Wedding...Typically I do a quote of the day on Friday...but today I shot a wedding and it rained almost all day long. So...instead of a quote...this is a personal reflection for the day!Sometimes you have to look for indoor shots with lots of natural light, sometimes you look for outdoor shots under over-hangs...and other times you just have to buy a bunch of cheap umbrellas and get creative. I recently came across an old mix CD called very creatively The Rainy Day CD. I let Iron Balls borrow and it and he gave it 5 razors blades to the wrists! Good stuff. For the past few months Adam has been driving a cab part time to supplement his income. Today is a rainy Saturday afternoon and he has been driving this rented cab for the past eight hours. So far he has barely made enough money to cover the cost of renting the cab.Around 5:30 p.m. Adam gets a call from the dispatcher directing him to pick up a fare at the corner of Wattingham and Braswell streets. Adam is familiar with the area well and knows that there is nothing other than a field at that location. He checks again with the dispatcher to confirm the location. The dispatcher informs him that the fare was calling from a cell phone and lets him know that she double checked the pick up location. Reluctantly Adam acknowledges that he will pick up the fare.As he drives up Braswell approaching Wattingham, Adam sees Julie standing on the corner in the pouring rain. She is soaking wet and has mud all over her shoes and lower legs.Adam does not see a car anywhere around. He pulls up next to he
Today is the day of the Californian “national disaster” - rain. Knowing that it would rain I decided not to ride today. For those who are unaware whenever it rains in Southern California the traffic situation becomes much worse. For some odd reason people drive super slow.
Armed with this knowledge I decided to leave my house much earlier this morning. At 8am I was already on the road. When I ride my motorcycle my morning commute usually takes 20-25 minutes, when I drive my car - 25 - 35 minutes of approximately 15 miles on the 405 freeway. Today the same commute took me … 56 minutes. I took picture of my trip computer to show the details of this tedious trip (below) - 15 miles in 56 minutes with the average speed of 16 mph. Wow, that is lightning fast.
Now here is my big question - is rain such a disaster that wreaks havoc all over the Los Angeles freeway system? Have we indeed become the generation of sissies? Slowing down to 16mph on a freeway while it rains

Paris and points in Italy might be a bit rainy this time of year, so I was thinking about packing a small umbrella. But, while visiting Uncrate today, I found this umbrella of the future! It's an Ambient Forecasting Umbrella and it flashes when you need it! It's also equipped with a dual-canopy or "gust buster" design (which is essential for Chicago weather!)
Rainy day here so the kids needed to find ways to occupy their time indoors. On days like this it's useless to even attempt cleaning since clutter just seems to follow them from room to room and of course nobody is responsible for it.Bob visited with Ebony today and found her to have switched to her melancholy state after almost three months of the manic phase. One would think medications would be able to regulate these moods more but so far nothing works for more then a few weeks of time. She is on a combination of six medications at this time. Not much else going on here but who knows what Monday will bring. We are hoping Ebony will be assigned a caseworker early in the week so we can begin discussing her needs. We also have several Dr. appointments scheduled that need to be worked around whatever DCF is doing.

I had an entry last night on "Wild" Bill Hagy, who sadly left us on Tuesday on the blog, and I kept my words to a minimum much only met him once and knew him as a legend to Oriole fans through videotape as well as word of mouth.Well, after looking at the Baltimore Sun, especially the kind words about Mr. Hagy left on Roch Kubatko's blog by various readers, it is clearly evident to me more than ever the impact he left on the Oriole fanbase. He may have just been a "fan", but he was man who left an indelible mark on a community and so many are speaking of him proudly, with reverence and love.As I have learned, he was a link to the past of the Orioles, when being a fan was truly having a part in the game.Today, we need scoreboards to tell us when to cheer or when to feel passionate, but in his heyday Bill was the cheerleader and the fans fed off his passion. If we could all only go out the way "Wild" Bill has...The Orioles will probably show a video and give him a celebratory moment of sil
Gettin' cinematic on yer ass...Composer Craig Armstrong is a pretty cool dude... probably the first you heard of him was from his work with Massive Attack, doing orchestrations on Blue Lines, but he has since really made a name for himself as a film composer, scoring such flicks as Moulin Rouge and Ray, and winning Golden Globes and Grammys and shit. This track, off his first solo album definitely shows that cinematic is how this dude rolls...Craig Armstrong - GlasgowYou almost feel like you're there, huh? Or maybe not. Never been myself. So... um... nevermind...
So finally the dry spell seems to be over atleast for now. The dry spell following the torrential rains have been bad. The good news is that the rains are back to work.
Its raining a lot nowadays. I thought to share some of the pics I recently clicked from the Mumbai Local Train on an rainy day.
The Pics are clicked from a VGA Camera of my mobile in a moving shaking train. Hence clarity in some

Today it's raining like cats and dogs, and I'm sitting enjoying the rain in my Orange County sunroom. I love watching the raindrops race each other down the windows. The gentle sound of the rain on the roof of my Orange County conservatory comforts me. There is a secure feeling inside my Hudson Valley home improvement project that makes me feel immune from the effects of the weather. I feel protected, insulated from the gloom of the day. While the rest of the world is running around trying to stay dry, I feel the comfort and warmth of my Orange County patio enclosure. Bad weather? First, I have little experience investing in IOUs like bills, notes, and bonds — except for the occasional dabble in bond funds. I came across Treasury bills for ordinary folks at Wise Bread last night and thought the article was well written — definitely worth a read if you are inexperience with IOUs. The article also went on to say that investing in Treasury Bills is a good option for your Rainy Day Fund.
I think the concept of having an emergency fund equal to 3-6 months of living expense has its merit. However, like other insurance plan (you are basically insuring yourself), the plan may not be right for everyone. Here’s why…
Personally, I don’t have a true emergency fund except $20,000 in mutual funds that I can readily liquidate. Yes the stock market can crash tomorrow and I can lose 30%. But accepting this risk allowed me to double its value since I first put it together in 2002. This sure beats having my money linger in low yielding money market a
I posted the following link yesterday, but my lazy Sunday mood inspired me to post the complete rant today as it deserves serious consideration. For all of you who followed this blog since Dec '06 and actually read the plethora of data made available, kudos! You're aware of what’s up and ignore 'cherrypicking' sunshine by disgruntled homeowners, investors or industry pundits whose interest and living are derived solely by benefit of supporting their constituents and investments. The nation is feeling the heat, as are surrounding states, Long Island, NYC metro, and eventually the 25% high-end Manhattan portion of the market will also succumb. My intent is never to panic, but rather to inform with a much larger view than your backyard. Prudence is wise. Adjust your investments and debt obligations accordingly. Have a great weekend.Photo Courtesy of flea_ef at FlickerInside view of the mortgage marketby MarketTicker Forum - 6/27/07 Full ArticleI own a mortgage shop, I myself st
Another great idea from Family Fun magazine: Drop several drops of food coloring (multiple colors) on a sturdy, rimmed paper plate and send your kids out into the rain (works best when there is a light shower). The colors will splatter and blend, leaving your child with a beautiful work of art, a lesson in color mixing, and a bit of fun on a rainy day.

Rainy Day Girl, 18/20 4 x 6 Collograph with colored pencilThis collograph of my sister in Rockport, Massachsetts was built with construction paper - cut out & glued to a piece of matboard with Liquitex gloss medium.I printed the plate intaglio style with black ink, and then top-rolled it with an aqua blue - without cleaning the black off the plate, to make a relief print. The relief print above, next to the plate.Under the pressure of the press, the black ink mingled with the aqua pigments, and left an interesting hue on the plate. I pulled a ghost print without wiping away or adding more ink. The result was soft and tonal, and it was the base for the image you see on the top of this post.
I've been busy at work, and tired (my DW's been away, see secret 4 below!) and I'm fed up with it raining all the time! So, I haven't been very inspired to do anything creative for a couple of days. But here are a few quick things I did get time to do. Let's hope summer starts again soon! technorati tags: pen+and+ink, Inktense, watercolour |

His Side: Upside down cocktail umbrella? Sweeeeeet. I would check the grade of the umbrella material to make sure that it can handle the heat from whatever lightbulb you choose to install.

Another rainy day here. Great for my gardens but not for the kids and my sanity. I'm in the process of putting together a calendar of daily activities for the kids to use for ideas on rainy or boring days. That should help us get through the summer months. We received word today that the baby girl we were expecting to be born and adopt in June is actually going to be born by c-section on May 7th. The baby has spina bifida. We thought we had at least another month before we started making plans for her arrival but looks like we need to get moving. We don't even chosen a name for this sweet little girl yet. YIKES ! I'm going to be a mom....again.

It's one of those cold, rainy and dreary days here on the Eastside. Not fit to be out in, but one of those great dream building days. Here's some thoughts on a dream kitchen.
A good kitchen is not only functional, but is also the social hub of most homes. When I ask Buyers about their wish list for their new home, a large modern kitchen is normally at the top of their list. What makes your dream kitchen? Here are some ideas of the latest trends in kitchen layout and amenities:

For the exterior, there are many door styles, specialty fillers, bookcases, wine racks, moldings, glass doors and hardwoods to choose from. Glaze finishes are popular. Closed grain hardwoods are popular, open grain woods like once popular oak are out. Don't forget updated hardware, suc
